@LiveNLove44@cford80 Its like beef or chicken stock, except it simmers for a lot longer, anywhere from 8 to 24+ hours. Because it simmers so long it releases minerals and gelatin or collagen from the bones. It's supposed to be a lot more nutrient dense, and I think it's a lot tastier than normal beef or chicken stock... kind of a richer or heartier taste.

Just DEMOLISHED two powdered, lemon-filled donuts on the way home from the grocery store. My shirt looks like I do drugs from all the sugar, but my stomach is soooo happy.
I stopped at Subway on my way to work this afternoon for a turkey sub, and after I told the gal I wanted turkey... the words "I'll also have a 6" seafood sensation" came out of my mouth. I've literally never had the seafood sub, and never thought it sounded appetizing at all. I don't know what possessed me to order it.... but not gonna lie, it was pretty good. Probably pretty risky (I mean... seafood. At subway.) but kinda hit the spot.
Okay no forget the donuts, I’m having the most intense craving for a tuna club with onions, lettuce, and cheddar cheese. I haven’t had Jimmy Johns in probably a year but I’m really considering ordering it right now.
Edit: you guys.... they don’t deliver to my house. They delivered to my old address, less than five miles away.... but not my new address. I am HEARTBROKEN.
For me, I really think there may be something to the old wives tale re: cravings and gender...I have only craved protein (beef/chicken), cheese, bread and lemon juice this entire pregnancy and found out this morning I'm have two (fraternal) twin boys! It goes like this: "Fruit, chocolate and desserts all hint that the stork might be bringing you a daughter. Salty or sour foods could be an indication that you’re carrying a son."
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake I am NOT a sweets person but I ate cupcakes every single day with my daughter. This pregnancy I’ve been craving fruit and hot chocolate. So I’m not really sure? Do those count as sweets?
My mom makes her own bone broth and it’s amazing!! She sent me her recipe and I keep meaning to do it but haven’t gotten around to it. She makes it in the crockpot so it’s fairly easy. It was really helpful for her when she was going through chemo and radiation last year and didn’t want to eat much.
We finally got a cold snap and I made chicken noodle soup. Dinner tonight was soup and a grilled cheese and I’m in HEAVEN.
@ShawnnaO I had a tuna sandwich from Jimmy John's for lunch yesterday and it was divine. I also added sprouts and avocado spread. It hit the spot for sure.
I still want Jimmy Johns but refuse to drive there to get it so I’m SOL. still salty they don’t deliver to my house I live literally four miles away. But I got KFC sooooooo
@k318 it’s basically a subway that delivers. TBH I kind of think they’re garbage but I’m lazy will settle for garbage as long as it’s being brought to me.
Y'all. I had the most insane craving for a philly cheesesteak tonight. I texted my husband and told him I NEEDED one and I drove way out of the way to get the really good ones for dinner. It was so worth it.
Ice water. Super strange since I only drink room temperature water pre-pregnancy. Now all my drinks need tons of ice! I'm team green...definitely didn't have this craving with DS and I was super pregnant in the summer last time
This is me during all my pregnancies. I have sensitive teeth and usually can't drink cold drinks now that is all I can and want, especially water.
@ShawnnaO - I realized the Jimmy John's is VERY stingy about where they deliver to! It's annoying! They are literally 2 miles from my work and they brought coupons to us when they first opened and all that hoopla and then said they don't deliver out here.. like what?? So one day we told them, fine, we'll go to your competitor. They now deliver out here. LOL
@justkeeptrying I definitely enjoyed my leftovers today! Have you ever tried zucchini noodles(zoodles). I bought a handheld spiralizer this past weekend. Used it tonight to make zoodles for the first time and ate them with some of the spaghetti sauce from last night... so good! Definitely recommend it!
@becausescience no seriously this was going to be my FFFC tomorrow but my daughter and I had pop tarts for dinner. I just couldn’t be bothered to struggle with trying to get her to eat anything else and I really wanted a pop tart, so. I felt like such a bad mom but I know if I had attempted real food, she would have thrown it on the floor and not eaten anything. So, at least she ate SOMETHING.
@npkat, I've never heard of them. I'll have to ask DH if he has. Since he practically claimed to have invented spaghetti squash saying he's been after me to make it for years (lies I tell you).
My big find today - cottage cheese. Yum! Delicious! DS was mad I was eating ice cream without him. Boy was he disappointed when I gave him a bite haha!
This is the first time I've looked at this thread because Ugh to most food but I think some of that is fading. I'm a vegetarian and avid gardener and totally jealous of everyone who's craving veggies. I have had aversion to raw stuff especially. Just looking at lettuce I could smell that slimy lettuce smell All I've wanted is salty junk food, especially that cheesy broccoli rice side dish that comes in a pouch. I never buy stuff like that! But I do now...

Im glad to have them back now bc they make the most wonderful addition to Subway veggie sandwiches.
Which makes me think I could eat a giant Subway veggie, heavy on the Southwest sauce, right now...
