  • @gingermama26 holy crap! 6 straight hours in a car with no purpose? I might so sorry I would be livid.
  • Where did we get these bingo cards?! Was I asleep?!
Brown Sugar Cinnamon are the besttttt
  • My warning was from a while back when we had a special snowflake who claimed she didn't like this site (aka we are mean). I suggested maybe x,y,z would be a better fit. It's apparently in the TOU that you can't tell others to leave. Just an FYI.

What?! That is a legitimately helpful response if someone is better fitted to AWs, rainbows and butterflies. *sigh* What is happening here?

I was wondering the same thing!

  • A/S is tomorrow morning. Today feels like the longest day ever.
    Saaame.
    Thinking of you today, @the_other_mother
  • Are any of you doing a special going home from hospital outfit for the babe/ies? My mom had one for each of my siblings and myself that she kept, so I feel it is a tradition I should keep going. Where are you looking to find something special? I would like something cute but simple because they are so small at that stage I don't want it to be more clothes than baby.

I did with DD. It was just a cute simple onesie with a seahorse on it. It was the first onesie I bought when we found out she was a girl.

For the boys, I bought two little premie outfits. They have pants, a onesie, and a snap up long sleeve to go over.

I think something comfortable is key. Especially since it will be winter time here and cold.

I don't know if it is considered special or not, but I am planning on bringing one of the nicer outfits that I love. I have not found it yet. For my son, it was a polo shirt (not actual brand, I think it was Old Navy) onesie. It was NB size and still seemed like he was swimming in it despite being 7 lbs 10 oz. I still have the polo and it is very special to me now, but there was nothing too special about it when I bought it (other than me thinking it was adorable).
  • @magnolia305, feeding times are a nightmare for me. Literally. I have nightmares about feeding my child (and based on listening to my son talk in his sleep, he has nightmares about eating). He is 5 and has been a vegetarian (except bacon) for years now. Not purposely, just because he will not eat any meat. He has also never had a vegetable make it passed the tongue. Not even purées as a baby. It was a huge win this morning (so much so that I took a picture and sent it to my husband) that he ate his cereal with milk! Picture for proof (It is an awe full photo that I just snapped quickly for my husband. Was not planning on posting anywhere, but since it is relevant.).

My husband picked the going home outfit for both girls. This time, I want to be Southern cliche and order her monogram since we know her name ahead of time.
  • @TattoosandLace sounds adorable! Did you order off Etsy?

I want to do a monogram outfit too! My husband thinks its silly for a boy, but we're bucking "gender norms" early on in my house.
  • @ramzlau I never thought of it as a tradition. I just assumed it was something everyone did when they plan the hospital bag. I have DS's coming home outfit and it's in his baby box. This LO gets a warm wool lined sweat pant and jacket suit with a bear on it and a woodland themed onsie. DH came home the next day with white booties to match. It was so cute how excited he was.
  • @ramzlau I would suggest having two potential going home outfits. One in Newborn and one in maybe 0-3 just in case.
  • @ramzlau I am using the three hours during the glucose test today to stalk etsy. LOL

@ash0625 I have friends who monogram things for their boys all the time. They just don't tend to use that scripty font.
  • @ramzlau I bought DS and DD a cute footed sleeper to go home in. DS2 will get something similar. I bought DD a cute hospital hat from Etsy that I ended up loving. Worth every penny. So DS will likely get one as well. I’m also planning to bring a monogrammed blanket for the hospital. I’ve learned that I really cherish those pictures in the hospital! And I can’t wait for him to wear it when meeting his big brother and big sister

I highly doubt you’ll need 0-3. Doesn’t hurt to bring but most all newborns can fit into NB size.

  • I had an almost 9 lb baby and he came home in a NB outfit--and wore NB for at least 2 weeks.

DD did not fit into newborn until after she lost some weight. If I'd had her a week later she probably wouldn't have fit at all.

I brought DD home in a 0-3 month sleeper. Not too sure she would have fit in a Newborn outfit. It's a good idea if you make bigger babies.

I'm considering not buying anything in NB and sending H out for an outfit at Target if he ends up needing one, because I was 10 pounds, H was 10 pounds, H's brother was 11 pounds, my brother was 10 pounds...I'm anticipating a large baby!
I'm not buying anything NB this time until much later into my growth scans. The fleece Carter's pajamas were the only thing NB she wore for more than a few days. If you have a Once Upon a Child near you it won't break the bank to have a few things on hand.
  • I brought a couple outfits to the hospital with DS and he ended up wearing both of them by the time we left because he already messed up one of them before we packed him up! Haha he was a poop machine as a newborn. I’ll be doing the same with this one. I also brought 3mo clothes just in case but he fit in NB for like 2 months. He was 8lbs3oz

    So very wrong!  Good luck!

  • Halfway done. Y'all need to pray for me that I don't unleash my hangry, snarky pregnant ass on this old vet mocking and laughing at the people being interviewed on the news re:Vegas.
  • I bought a sleeper in both nb and 0-3 because it was 50% off so I justified buying both. I also bought a three pack of nb onesies from H&m because they were fairly cheap, but I am not going to buy anything else nb because can't you just put them in clothes that are a little big? The IG account for the sleepers had side by side pics of a baby in their 0-3 sleeper (one at birth and one at like 6 weeks) and it looked fine. Am I totally wrong?

  • Questions I'm pondering while watching paint dry in this lab waiting room.

    1. Why is it so cold in here? I should have brought a blanket.

    2. If DH said this dress "definitely makes [me] look pregnant", just how large do I look? Large enough to be judged for the Jimmy Johns I'm going to eat after this?
    3. How are these tests reliable? Just judging on the fasting time frame, whether or not you can have water before or during the test, etc... given between us and my previous BMBs...how are all those variables okay?

    Ugh, people suck.

And because "Old Bitches" was on there twice and I had some time to kill this morning:

  • So much going on and it's only Tuesday!  I'm on data restriction until tomorrow so I can only stop in briefly.  I don't have too much to add but I wanted to say that the footed pants/sleepers tend to be grown out of faster if your kid has longer legs. I realized pretty quick that I needed footless pants and PJs for my boy because I could see they couldn't stretch out fully in them and it looked very uncomfortable. Same with feet. If you're kid has bigger feet the little footie might strain against their toes.  I know socks don't stay on very well but I'd rather that fight then clothes they can only wear a few times.
  • @eggplantface So far we haven't had a white knight in our BMB. Does bingo count across the whole community?

I tend to play within a single thread, but I don't think there are hard and fast rules to how one gets bingo. Though there should be a time limit.

@the_other_mother Happy to hear that everything is ok!

I have started to think when my husband says something about me looking pregnant he truly means it as a compliment. Like "I man. I make baby. You carry baby. Me Likey."

He jokes that it takes me forever to show. Things like “I don’t know if we should do those photos in December. Maybe January you’ll be showing.
I think this dress just exaggerates it.
