  • @SarahFoley725 Lol! I can completely relate, I had a Hot Head Burrito for dinner. All of it. For which I immediately regretted. No room to breathe now!
  • @meatballs37 I just read your blog! Thank you for having the courage to share with us! I am praying for you and your whole family!!

  • @meatballs37 I will keep you in my prayers, I strongly believe God will make a way.
  • @meatballs37 , thanks for sharing your story.  I agree with @ash0625 , I saved, but definitely keep us informed when you have updates.  I'll be keeping your family in my heart, and hoping for the best possible outcomes! I'm glad you're able to get the care you and the boys need to keep an eye on things in the meantime.
  • @SarahFoley725 - that image is perfect as it was National Taco Day yesterday!

@meatballs37 - thanks for sharing your blog, will be thinking of you and family!
  • Do you ladies know of any good online parenting and/or childbirth classes? I am looking at the classes offered at the hospital I will deliver at, but also wanted to look at online options. Thanks!

@eggplantface the UO thread is a goldmine, I just wish the "I have a background in theoretical midwifery" comment didn't get lost in the racism/sexism debate!

ETA: especially because the "theoretical midwifery" poster who doesn't follow routine prenatal care guidelines because she "trusts her gut" just celebrated "facts and science."
  • @eggplantface That UO thread is awesome! Thanks for the heads up!
  • @eggplantface Oh my lord I feel like we dodged a bullet with our BMB!

  • I also am waiting for the OP on the theoretical midwifery to respond. If I went with "my gut" on this pregnancy, I would have never known anything was wrong...or hell known that there are two freaking babies!

  • @eggplantface Oh my lord I feel like we dodged a bullet with our BMB!

IKR!! This group is so tame, I actually really enjoy. The broad I was on with my son was pure entertainment but not really helpful.

And @jennifer_m21 I didn't do any actual childbirth classes but if you can find the hypnobirthing book\CD online i recommend giving it a read. I don't take any of that stuff too seriously but the main concept was quite helpful!
  • There's a can you feel movement at 11 weeks thread in April that I keep waiting to get good but it's been pretty meh so far

I'm sure that, according to her, your gut would have known. You know, theoretically anyway.

  • @meatballs37 I am waiting for her to respond, too.  What she said is completely insane to me!  I thought immediately of you and your twins, or anyone finding out they were even carrying twins, for that matter... not to mention the (many) people I know who were first alerted to preeclampsia with routine urine/blood pressure checks, or with placenta previa or vasa previa for whom going into a vaginal delivery with no information could have been catastrophic for them and their baby! The list of reasons goes on and on...  It's one thing to opt out of genetic testing for personal/religious reasons, but quite another to turn up your nose at routine prenatal testing.  How has no one in the June board jumped all over that?
  • @psm2462 agreed. All I could think of was, if something happened to my baby after they were born and I could have prevented it with proper prenatal care, I would feel devastated. And at what point to you draw the line for medical care? Like does she not go for physicals? When she is sick? It all seems absurd to me.

DS2 is 2 years old.  At his check up we discussed his lazy eye.  Ophthalmologist consult showed he’s far sighted with both eyes having a tendency to cross with one worse than the other.   He gets to wear glasses.  He is head strong and hates things on his face.  Any tips on getting him to wear his glasses and leave them on?

They are the miraflex brand with a strap if that helps.

First - That is my favorite GIF and I snorted when I saw it.

Second - I want to reply to that thread as a dirty lurker so bad.

I do too but there's a couple who seem like they could be trigger happy report types and they're not worth getting on the naughty list.

DD has had glasses since 8 months old. She has her good days and her bad days. You just have to keep trying. Once she rips them off, they are off for about an hour before I will try again. Or if she starts watching tv and is really engrossed, I will try again. Some days she just doesn’t want to wear them. My sister’s DS1 started glasses at age 2 and it is sometimes a battle yet (he’s almost 5 now). You just have to keep trying.
