There is a woman on the second trimester board asking if her brothers are high on weed and get bit by a mosquito then the mosquito bites her will it hurt her baby. Where do these people come from???
I spent the night in the hospital with my 12 year old. He got bit by a mama pig, and had to have emergency surgery and iv antibiotics over night. Thankfully he is going to be fine after some pt with no permenant damage, just a scar. I'm so thankful, but also starving and tired, I've been up almost all night with him, and only had a few crackers and gobstoppers to eat since yesterday at lunch.
@mamaof5already Oh my gosh that's so scary! I'm glad he's ok. He'll also have a great story when he's older, how many kids can say they've been bitten by a pig?
@ash0625 I had the two cheeseburger meal yesterday for breakfast/lunch. No shame in my game!!

I love reading the random questions people have on the ‘real questions’ tab and here in the boards to hubby......I just cannot fathom some of the questions! And feel like I’m being trolled half the time, or wishing I was because it’s terrifying to think of someone raising a child when they ask some of the questions they do
Anyone use the halo swivel bassinet? I used a rock and play sleeper next to my bed for both of my boys but it is pretty low beyond my bed and I'd like something more convenient... any recommendations? **we tried a pack n play but I want something next to the bed.

Thanks everyone! Apparently this was the first pig bite at our local hospital, the Dr. Said at least it wasn't a bear. My son is now saying it wasn't a bite, but a tusk scrape - either way is the same to me. I feel better after a hot shower, a good cry, and lots of food.
@Aeml1985 that sounds like fun! @ash0625 no shame in getting yummy food if you had to leave the house to go to work anyhow.
@chucksmom15 that is hilarious. I can't imagine how she'll cope having a live baby-toddler-child that gets into questionable things as kids always do.
random question: Has anyone else not felt the baby move yet? I'm 19 weeks today and a FTM. I know I shouldn't be worried since I've heard FTMs don't usually feel it until it's more obvious, and I'm not worried really, but I want to know, has anyone else not felt it yet? Or how late did you feel it for your first pregnancy? I keep hoping it's soon. Thanks!
So I'm in this big facebook group and this lady just posted a bump picture and I honestly don't think she has pants on at all. This group has like 40k people or something
I have an aunt that came to town and will be here for about a month to help grandma post-op (she is getting a new knee). We always get together and do something fun when she is here. I gave her a heads up already that this weekend was not going to be good for anything because I have a crazy work schedule last week and this one so today was my only day off to catch up on stuff and relax a little.
She called twice wanting to come over or go do something today. I told her it wasn't good timing because I'm starting to feel sick (sinuses) and I just got the boys down for naps. She was bummed but understood.
DH then told me I'm being completely unreasonable not dropping everything and dragging my sinus pressure headache self out with overtired boys to do something.

Do you have an anterior placenta? I’m 20w2d with number three and only barely feel flutters with my anterior placenta.
@alice0218 i'll be 20 weeks tomorrow with kiddo #4 and just felt the first kick 3 days ago. It was only last night that they were grouped together enough to be 100% sure, though.
I have an anterior placenta (per earlier ultrasound), but am assuming it's moving up some since I felt the kicks low and in front.
@alice0218 with my first I did not feel anything until around 21 weeks. I distinctly remember it being after my AS, which I had just after 20, because my husband was shocked how much the baby was moving for me not being able to feel it yet! For what it's worth, I skipped the "flutters" and went right to feeling kicks. I think it's quite possible as FTMs you don't really know what the initial movement feels like and therefore don't consciously feel it until its stronger, obvious kicks.

I was 20+3 when I first felt her move. Felt more like a gas bubble, but it was three taps in the same area. You'll feel the baby soon! My OB said it's normal not to feel them maybe until week 22 sometimes...
I swear I did not just order 10 boxes of Girl Scout cookies online.
My daughter is a girl scout and cookie season here isn't until January! I'm going to be gorging myself on them at almost 9 months pregnant and postpartum. Actually I still have some thin mints in the freezer for my late night ice cream bowls!
Where is a good place to buy neutral clothes for a baby boy that are a reasonable price. If only I could afford to shop all etsy... sigh... but this is our last child and I'm not saving these clothes for another baby to justify spending more. I want to have a pretty basic wardrobe for this little guy.
@ramzlau so far I have found some cute pieces at carters and h&m... but just hit or miss. We had an over abundance of clothes for our first two boys, got rid of it all, and found out we're pregnant with our little miracle baby... this time around, want simplistic. I want a "capsule wardrobe" that can be mixed and matched (blacks, gray, white, basic blues/greens, etc...) I'll let you know if I find a really great place.
Thank you for the recommendation, I have never heard of that one and will look it up.
@neener*neener* I bet you would love some of the baby clothes from h&m. They have pretty decent sales if you check regularly. I got a bunch of neutral stuff for our boys on Labor Day weekend for half off. My favorite thing from them is the pants with the feet built in) I've also never had luck with socks staying on. And it's nice to change it up from sleepers. I also got the onesies that snap up the side. Which are also nice not to have to pull over their heads.

Whoa! Yeah... I don't think we spent that much on our baby stuff collectively. Although we did shell out good money for a city select stroller.
We had pretty good luck with a dock a tot and the Ollie swaddle for DD for safe back sleeping. And I thought those two items were on the expensive side.

@neener*neener* I actually just bought that second outfit on Wish for a few bucks. The pants are the only thing that seem like they'd fit a newborn though.
Im back from a much needed staycation and media break. Trying to catch up on it all is a bit overwhelming! @meatballs37 Im thinking of you and your twins! I hope we can offer support and distraction theoughout your bedrest. @mamaof5already so glad your son is okay! I cant imagine how scary and stressful that was @ashoes123 how is your sofa???
And on a lighter note somehow I was also craving and eating artichokes last week - how bizarre!
@alice0218 I was almost 23 weeks with my first before I felt kicks! I am now 20+2 with my second and I just started feeling the baby about 4 or 5 day a ago!
@meatballs37 Thank you for the H&M suggestion... I think I'll wait until black Friday online shopping... that would probably be the best deal and I really like the pants with feet. Never had those for either of my older boys.
Another random... has anyone used Monat hair products? I recently went to an info session and signed on to be a rep to try out the products and OMG, I LOVE them!!! I'm a product "hopper" and my hair gets weighed down by other products but so far I've been super happy. Just wondering if anyone else had good experience since I am so new to using these products?? I also love using the men's aftershave cream as primer for my make-up. It was suggested by a friend and it works so well plus it calms the redness on my skin. Hopefully these results continue!

Black Friday! Yes! We're going to wait until then to see what kind of deals we can get on a crib, dresser, and rocker.

For a bassinet I can't recommend highly enough the Snoo by Happiest Baby. Safest one out there.
And those clothes are adorable! I would dress my girl in them too! Let me know if you find a good place to buy them from!
