@mjpbarretto oh yeah. I'll be adding estrogen patches and then few days before transfer I'll add PIO. Also 5 days of medrol and Valium for transfer day. Then also daily injections of neupogen

    what about you?

    **TW***
neupogen was added because I had 1 m/c and 1 cp. both with PGS normal embryos...

  • @mjpbarretto PIO is not fun. But it's not as bad as it seems  :s
will you have to continue with PIO until 12 weeks?

  • @mjpbarretto check out the spoiler box in my signature for my history. But in short, my retrieval was in November last year. **TW*** had two FETs, got pregnant both times. One time ended in MMC and the other one in CP **end TW***

  • @prudence9-2 oh I don't know. I should ask them tomorrow
  • @prudence9-2 if you don't mind me asking, does your insurance cover treatment?
  • I just introduced myself in the Sep IVF group. I'm On day 5 of stims - if all goes well, I'm hoping for an Oct FET. Although, since we are doing PGD, that timeline might be a little optimistic. GL to all of the ladies here.
  • @mjpbarretto my insurance had some lifetime max for IVF. But it wasn't enough for even one cycle. So I used it for smaller stuff. Like IUI and some meds. So I am mostly all OOP. And you?

@BusinessWife that's great that you are going for another cycle! Totally get why you want to bank. Especially since you want more than 1 child!!!

@rainbows2018 good luck with the IVF. From what I understand PGD takes some time. But hopefully you'd be able to join us here in October.

  • Jumping in here! I was in the July/Aug IVF group. Quick run down, this is our 1st run with IVF. Severe MFI. Had 11 eggs retrieved on 9/6, only 8 mature. 3 were fertilized with ICSI, and we found out we have 2 embryos to freeze. One is a grade 1, the other a grade 2. We initially were planning to do PGS, however with only ending with 2 frosties, we decided not to.

Just spoke with the nurse and the plan is as follows: when AF comes (hopefully next week? It's hard to tell because everything has been so off this month), I'll start estrogen pills AND patches x 2 weeks. then get brought in for US to check lining. If they feel it is where it needs to be, then I'll start progesterone x 6 days before FET. My clinic gives the option of either vaginal or PIO injections. I have already picked up PIO injections about a month ago so likely I will use that because I definitely do not want to waste!

SO, if all goes well, we are looking at mid-Oct for a FET.

Can't wait to share with you lovely ladies!
Me 30 DH: 31 Married for 7 years

  • @rainbows2018 when do you find out results of pgd testing? Good luck!

@prudence9-2 unfortunately for us we don't have any type of coverage for fertility treatment. It sucks!

@tnh0413 hope everything goes well and you get to prep for you FET cycle
  • Hello ladies. This is my 4th day having AF. We will meet our Dr on 9/19. I'm getting so excited for our FET in October. I'm hoping for everyone here to get the best results.
  • Welcome @tnh0413 & @tinjp78 !!

@mjpbarretto yeah. That sucks. In my case I can't say I get much either. But at least I had it for some of the small things...

  • Hello @mjpbarretto yes I'll be doing a medicated cycle. I don't know anything yet about it though. We'll only be meeting our dr on 9/19 and this is my first IVF. Plus we reside here in Japan so the protocol here is kind of different as what you guys are doing. I'll post here my updates every time something comes up.
  • @mjpbarretto no worries! I'm doing great - other than Menopur hurting slightly when I inject, I have no other issues. I was even worried if the med is enough/working but my MD assured me that I'm on the highest dose so we shall see. GL with your upcoming transfer.
  • Welcome over here, @tnh0413!

@mjpbarretto How'd your saline ultrasound go yesterday?

AFM it's CD1! Yay! Only one more cycle between me and our October FET. Just have to get the SHG appointment set up for this cycle. We also saw DH's urologist yesterday for a follow-up at our RE's suggestion. We'd dropped DH's Clomid after our IVF cycle because we were oh so cocky, but both doctors think it's still worth trying to treat the MFI even while doing IVF. We're looking at a different med for DH, though, because of the clomid side effects. The fun never stops!
  • @Bababatty. We dropped DHs Clomid after retrieval, but he would have loved to stay on it!  Lol he just wants the T boost. :p what did they switch your H to?  GL with the shg!!!
  • @BusinessWife Will they let him keep taking it, lol?  :D DH has to get another hormone test so not sure yet what they'll change to, but we should find out at our next appointment in October. :-) I'll let you know in case you want to investigate that for your DH, haha.
  • @Bababatty I told him, if he wants to be on something, he needs to just talk to the damn doctor about it!  The Clomid has a peak effectiveness, and honestly, once we're sure we're 100% not worried about his sperm anymore, I wouldn't care if he went on TRT.  But his T was never really clinically low, just on the lower side of normal.  He knows this.  Which is why he's afraid that our doctor won't give it to him.  Bc he's actually scrupulous. Lol. I can't with him! But ya, any recommendations to look i to would be appreciated...  ;)
  • @BusinessWife Same re: the TRT! Actually, the urologist said yesterday that he'll recommend TRT after a man is done having kids, so I'd like to think your urologist would be similarly willing once you've gotten past this hurdle. Always worth the question if you can strong arm your H into it, haha.
  • @prudence9-2 how's the lupron going? Our baseline appt is not until October. I thought you have a baseline before continuing. Kinda like how it is with ivf cycle. But our baseline/lining check is the same appt.

@tinjp78 good luck! Can't wait to hear updates on your cycle.

@rainbows2018 I remember Menopur being stingy. I didn't have it this last cycle but had it before.

@Bababatty saline ultrasound wasn't too bad. A little cranky when they inserted the catheter but that's it. I actually liked the feeling when saline was going in, it felt cool inside lol. Thankfully, they didn't find anything. Are you having one done soon?
  • @mjpbarretto Glad to hear it went well and wasn't terrible--and even better that you're all clear! I just made my appointment for it next Wednesday.  :#
  • @mjpbarretto very strange that baseline and lining is the same appt. as for Lupron, it stings as I inject. And I have a rush that goes away after 30 minutes. But so far, no headaches! But it has only been 2 days. Haha

@rainbows2018 I also remember menopur being stingy....
