  • @dragonette505. Wow!  Holy cow!  I didn't realise so much growth happens between trigger and retrieval too!  :D

@angelbea. Yeah I am trying to trust and believe.  If anything I feel bad about losing one if it gets overripe - is that weird?  Like if it were a natural cycle, that would have probably been The One!  LOL. I dunno.  I know that's weird.  So I'm not worried about triggering too early.  I guess I'm more just bummed overall thinking we would have way more.  But hearing others experience is encouraging!  It's looking like proba my trigger Tuesday for Thursday retrieval, but we'll know for sure tomorrow...

@Hopeful_mom  Yes!  I posted actually my whole stimms report if you scroll up a little? Maybe in a spoiler.  The bottom line is from today, looking like 5 measurable on the R and 6 on the L so 11 total?  But I'm just nervous about the whole outcome I guess.  We upped my meds tonight so hopefully tomorrow will be go-time!!!
  • Good luck everyone !! Try and keep the faith !
  • Welcome! @tinjp78  I guess that makes us trigger buddies(!!!) Hopefully, I should be finding out later today what I need to do for trigger tonight. It is really hard on everybody... I know with us to our reason for doing IVF was mfi, so that's especially hard on my H because it's hard for him to see me going through all of this stuff and not blame himself? But I have to keep just reassuring him, and for me, I have to really just trust that everything is going to be okay, ❤
  • @BusinessWife Yes, things can change so quickly during stims. 15 is a great number!! I picked my RE because of his bio and he's young and hot lol. You're almost there!

@Hopeful_mom I'm 6dp and I feel nothing. I tested this morning and it was a BFN. Still kinda early but....

  • Omg @allycheer00 Shameles!!!  Lol I picked mine because of her bio too, but also because she kind of reminds me of my best friend's mom growing up. She was the doctor as well, and I don't know she just seem really nice. Oh yeah, and she's sang College, too!  And in a prior role, she managed in embryology lab too, so I thought that gave her some pretty good cred. ;)

GL with testing.  It's still so early!!!

@BusinessWife I'm guessing you will be doing a dual trigger since you've been stimming with HCG. I will likely dual trigger because I have a history of ohss...same outcome for different reasons... cool though. Also, some places just prefer dual trigger. Ive never done it before so it should be interesting! yay for the extra follies! Told you they would be plumping up!
@tinjp78 Yay, glad youre triggering! GL!
@allycheer00 still super early, lots of people are stark white on 6dp5dt. TW I didn't have a clear pos till 8dp5dt (ended in mc....I was also testing out my trigger so it wasn't till then that I could trust that the trigger should be out...I never got a neg from trigger to pos beta. if you have a neg that's awesome because you will be able to trust a pos!). I think the highest percentage of women begin getting pos at 8 and 9 dp5dt... obviously there are some gals who get early (though sometimes I wonder if they are still seeing their trigger and are just lucky enough to also be pg) but in the main around 8 days is when ppl start seeing them. Reason being that while implantation may begin right away, its still a process and it can take several days, then it can take several days to build up enough HCG in your system to turn a test.

  • Welcome @tinjp78  ! IVF is definitely an emotional process, you and your DH are not alone.
My DH is not a crier, but when we got out fertilization report, we were both crying.

I hope you both find yourself growing closer through this process; it's not something I would wish on anyone, but I'm thankful that our relationship is stronger because of it.

  • @dragonette505 I didn't realize 8 or 9dp was normal. I hope that's true for my case. I'm also NOT testing anymore and will wait until beta on Saturday.

@Malibu45 Liking in solidarity. You just can't help but be negative sometimes.  So much goes right along the way except maybe that ONE thing we all really want. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and @reesaAnne16!

  • Thanks @BusinessWife @dragonette505 and @ReesaAnne16 for the welcome. I'm happy to be here.

@Malibu45 I share the same sentiments as you and it's really encouraging to hear from people who truly understand what you are going through.

I felt a bit of encouragement too yesterday when the nurse who game me my HMG shot told me that she has succeeded in IVF herself. She told me that she understands me well and that I should just relax... what an angel
  • @ReesaAnne16- so excited for you! Keeping FX!

@allycheer00 - can't wait for your beta! Also, I wish my RE were hot... nope! No such luck! DH would definitely give me a look though, if the RE were. Like: "I see why you've made this choice." He would definitely catch on. LOL. I love it.
  • @allycheer00 One thing I will never do is wait for beta! I will def test right up to beta.... I just need to know in advance.
  • Had a feeling my PGS results were in and from my Drs msg I could tell it wasn't good news.  Nothing came back normal from this batch so that's obviously upsetting to say the least.   It makes me so angry not to walk away with one good one after all that.  So much money and time...
yes I still have 5 good ones but there are no guarantees which makes it all that much tougher!  SO much for ending IVF on a high note.

  • @Hopeful_mom I'm so so sorry!! I know that feeling and honestly it was as devastating as a (tw) miscarriage for me. Just sending all my hugs and love...
  • @Hopeful_mom:  Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that -- it is so incredibly disappointing, I know.  So much work, stress and money!  But you really gave it everything you could, so be proud of that.  And every journey ends so that a new one can begin, and maybe now your [FET] journey to getting your take home baby/babies will begin, so take heart in that.   But it's ok to be sad and disappointed for awhile.  It will pass.  Take care.

Both married for the first time in our 40s; went straight to IVF after multiple fibroid surgeries
    (2/17) ER: #1:  agonist/antagonist protocol: 19 eggs; 8 mature; 13 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
    (4/17) ER: #2: same protocol but stimmed an extra 2 days:  16 eggs; 10 mature (5 more matured in lab); 13 fertilized; 2 6-day blasts (5AA & 6BA) & 2 7-day blasts (6BA & 5BB):  only 1 Day 6 6BA tested normal!
    FET on 7/10/17
    Beta on 7/21/17:  Negative:(
    (8/17) ER #3:  9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery.  Done with IVF.
  • BusinessWife thats a great rise only good things to come!!

angelbea dragonette505 ugh being at work and crying is not a good combo...each time the heartbreak is like another MC, glad i'm not the only one.  I hate it.  Its also my age knowing if this doesn't work I won't be able to really try again...why I'm even more of a basket case :(  The 8 cycles i've been through people can get in one and then some...sigh...and then there are the others that are worse off.  I will try to get it out of my system, its just hard!

  • @Hopeful_mom I know it sux... I would be crying too... its so upsetting. It is a loss...those were your babies. You and your partner made them and you wanted them. I am so so hoping they just get you all prepared for transfer and then some of your beautiful lucky 5 will be in you and thriving. I wish I could give you a huge hug (and a bigger glass of whiskey)

@BusinessWife That's awesome! That extra day will capture so many more! BTW I was thinking about the dual trigger thing and why its used (besides in my case OHSS) and I found this article that links 2 studies that show a higher rate of take home babies when the dual trigger is used! Never heard that before!

  • Nurse called with my blood results from this morning (I am 2 days past my 5 day fresh transfer). Progesterone was greater than 60 and estrogen was 2,037. I know the nurse told me that none of these numbers mean anything in a good or bad way, buuut...can't help but try to Google analyze the numbers lol

main thing is your progesterone is good so that's nice... are you doing pio or suppositories?
  • I am doing the crinone..which is gross but my friend had a 2 month supply so it worked out ! Plus I couldn't handle intramuscular shots
  • @Malibu45 I'll be using crinone when I transfer too. I imagine its grosser than endometrin times 10...yuck, but yeah...so far glad ive not been given pio
  • Yeah it's pretty messy lol
  • @Malibu45 the suppositories are too! SO gross and leaky. Then I saw they ordered me the gel and I was like:

  • @Hopeful_mom I'm so sorry for the disappointing PGS results, that really sucks.
Its not fair; you are so kind and I wish life gave only good things to good people.
I'm sure at least one, and probably many more of your frosties will be able to come home with you some day. Don't despair!

  • @Hopeful_mom I'm so so sorry to read your PGS results. Take your time to grieve this loss. As a fellow AMA I totally get the time pressure on top of everything else. I'm glad you have your 5 though and I'm sending you good thoughts for those!
  • @Hopeful_mom I'm sending you lots of hugs and prayers.
  • It was my 9th day of stimms yesterday and I'll have a trigger shot at midnight tonight. Now, I just woke up with really tender breasts and I feel sore all over.
  • @dragonette505 thank you so much. I'm really hoping for a better report on Thursday. I'm on microdose Lupron protocol. I started with bcp for about 3 weeks then started 20unuts diluted Lupron twice daily from cycle day 2 then started stimming the next day with menopur and gonalF total of 450 units per day (150 menopur and 75 gonalF in the morning and 150 gonalF with 75 menopur in the evening). Was wondering if they should have upped it today or something but this is my first time so what do I know. Did you already have your first US or just blood work so far?
  • So I had my blood drawn yesterday at my CD9 check up and I just got news today that I have elevated prolactin (47.9 ng/ml (and my RE wants it less than 23.  Does anyone know if this will affect my ER cycle?  Or perhaps it only affects an FET?  I got so frustrated and worried on the phone with the nurse, since I only got it tested when she happened to see on my chart at my baseline appointment that I hadn't had it done.  I started crying, mostly out of frustration, as here I am just days away from my ER and only NOW they are finding this out?  I would have liked to have had this test prior to me spending a month poking myself with needles!  I'm just scared that this will now have an effect on my eggs.  I am likely worrying needlessly, but it makes me think that my RE isn't being thorough. I start the meds to fix this tomorrow.  Does anyone have any info or context for this issue?  Oh, and if this only affects the success of FETs,  this info would have been really helpful to have prior to my July FET, which failed.  I can't even go there right now......
