@BusinessWife I'm supposed to call CD1 and then go in either CD2 or 3! I just want to go right away...lol In my old clinic I could just show up on CD2 without calling, but I guess that's why they had so much chaos. Here I'm meant to call and they will arrange for me to come in. ETA: Generally they want to do day 2 or 3 BW
@BusinessWife I had my CVS speciality meds delivered with no signature every time. They irritated me because they said they would send tracking to my phone but didn't for both deliveries. Grrr! So excited for you and @dragonette505 to get the stim party started! Also, I had my baseline u/s before my period started and didn't have my first monitoring until my 6th day of stims.

@allycheer00 glad I wasn't the only one to have my baseline before AF too! I was kind of wondering if maybe this had been part of my "non-success." Guess I'm paranoid! I went in Thursday for baseline and AF started Saturday, then my first appt after stims will be the morning of day 3 of stims. So I guess these differences in clinics aren't a big deal.

wow, really??? OMG y'all I'm on cycle...what 6...7 by now? And never have they let me start stimming without me giving blood and having a baseline us.... I was also there last week for bw and us before starting priming.
ETA: Just wanted to say they were so emphatic about it I have an email from one of my nurses saying under no circumstances begin meds without having seen my doc :O lol
BusinessWife I love love ur gifs! you're always spot on!! Yay for meds coming, I once had my shipment come to work and that was the worst move traveling with it home on the subway...not cute! I too leave it at home and luckily its been fine. Unfortunately I have had things stolen off my porch before so I try to make sure someone can take it in. DO you have to sign for your trigger shots...that we do so i need to make sure I'm home for that one which sux! Its like waiting for the cable guy all day.
Momifbysea every step of this process is a tough on for sure. Sometimes its better when you're not as informed so you have less to worry about! When is your US do they give you an AFC when you first started?
Bababatty it's interesting to hear others points of view, I dont hear too many of woman at this point becoming mothers first in the group. Do you think your other friends in the future will want to have kids? I think in the beginning you can try to keep the friendship the same and just dont exclude them from the "kid" things, let them be the ones to do that. I do have a bunch of friends with kids that up until birthday 5 they would always invite me to the parties and once it really became a fun house for kids some where I maybe just stopped by. Its not easy but I for me I love my gf and after years of friendship you assume your gf is as excited for you to share her kids with you and you are to love them. BUT I have some friends that could care less that you know their kids and just look forward to a night out with the gf so its really interesting how each friendship progress.
Edit as I wanted to add I was hoping I did hit a nerve or something to that effect...dr google said maybe but then the dr didn't agree I was trying to find any reason that was less threatening to the cause!
allycheer00 I agree the way I'm still feeling today makes me think the same way. I'm still hurting...not just cramping more my head and body from the anesthesia
dragonette505 every clinic is different for sure. My place is the same as yours as no starting meds AT ALL until BW and US. Mine usually has you come in CD2 regardless if you call them or not. AND your CD1 has to be full flow by 9pm to be considered CD1 so each place has rules how they do it...just don't stress over that one!! AND one cycle I probably started a day early and I stemmed probably a lil longer too...just thought I'd share.
AFM: How is it every time you try to rest the phone rings. the 2 times I fell asleep the head lab dr called and then later my brother. Anyhoo I didn't think I'd already have an update but I do. Dr mentioned that one egg was ND, now I was still half out of it and confused and basically said it was a dead egg... huh...not something you really want to hear. Not sure I mentioned but I used a frozen sample instead of fresh and I have to say that the motility was not as great after the thaw as they wanted so they did all icsi. Trying to stay positive and praying they will all have a good outcome.
I have to say this is the most nauseous I have ever been this late in the day after this procedure. Its amazing how you can feel different every time. I think have the reaction to the trigger is just showing my body is a lil off with all the meds this round. All the numbness and nauseous must still be from the anesthesia.
TO the ladies that still have ER to go through I find besides taking tylenol I actually take midol to help with the cramping, I find that usually helps me get through it faster.
Have been watching some curb your enthusiasm...forgot about that show, had given me some good laughs.

@Hopeful_mom hey! Thanks! TTGP is good for the giffing skills.... ;) they are actually sending all the meds together! No signature required. That's why I was waiting for the auth to come through for the Lupron. With the go ahead, now they can send the Follistim, Ganirelix, Novarel, and Leuprolide all at once! I'm sorry you weren't expecting to have to do ICSI... fx for a great report soon!!! (((Hugs))) I will try to remember the Midol, too. ;)
@allycheer00 Oh! That's so annoying! I did get my first initial text, so we'll see if the a tula tracking comes through...
@dragonette505. Oh dear. Now I'm stressing bc I have no idea what day my first monitoring happens :# I just have to call on CD1
ETA you might have botb when your phone autocorrects "actual" to "Tula"! Lmao
BusinessWife Since I went over to follow up on another post of yours i started lurking a lil There are some good ones over there for sure! No sig for it ALL, I'm a lil jealous, probably one of the joys of living in NY its considered a narcotic and must me signed for booooo. And no need to stress i'm sure if your clinic wants you to call on CD1 thats to add you to the list for bw and us for CD 2 or 3. Also don't be alarmed if they don't see you as often in the beginning too. Some places will only do an US after 3-5 days of stemming. As for the icsi its strange as I have had it done. Under 5 eggs retrieved they usually do icsi or 1/2 and 1/2. I think its the panic that something "wrong" with the sperm that they dont trust it. Anything extra to make you worry a lil bit more..I am trying to let nature take its course and pray for the best outcome!

@Hopeful_mom I just wish I could start stimming on a particular cycle day.... I've done this so many times! I can just about count and guesstimate the follicles and sizes by now! Ugh about the dead egg still you got a good number. Fingers crossed for the report tomorrow!!!
@BusinessWife sounds like you might be on the same deal as me: call CD1 for instructions (my clinic it's full flow before midnight) and usually arrive for bw and us on Day 2 or 3 (usually based on if day 2 is falling on a Sunday ) and then if all is well, you start stimming that night. My doc this time is telling me she may coast me on estrogen another day or so if she feels there might be another follie or two popping up.
@Hopeful_mom I'm sorry to hear about that egg but I think you have a really good count still and can't wait to hear your feet report! As for my US/BW, on the cycle (that got postponed) where I hadn't done BCP before it, I called on cd1, and then went in for US/BW on cd2 or cd3, so that sounds the same as others. They want to make sure no cysys and proper suppression before you start. But on the cycles like this one where I'm on BCP the month prior, they give you your calendar for the BCP and stims all the way through estimated ER date as soon as you are on cd1 of the BCP cycle, if that makes sense. So Ive known for the last month that my US/BW baseline would be the Thursday before starting stims (always Monday in our clinic). They really take over your cycle and are strict about it. At the baseline they checked for cysts and proper suppression and then give the go ahead to start Monday stims. Next step is US/BW morning of day 3 of stims, then another check on day 5, then day 7, then it becomes daily but Ive always triggered day 9 so I'm guessing will be the same unless my follies grow more evenly this time!
Momifbysea makes complete sense! Hoping this will be your magical cycle! Praying that this is it for you. I'm annoyed at myself for being this stressed. Did I do everything right? I only got 2 acupuncture session in more toward the end of the cycle not the beginning, was it not enough?
AFM: We know I got 7 but since one was a pooper from the beginning will say, out of the 6, 5 fertilized...I know I should be happy I'm just hella nervous! What is wrong with me? Maybe cause i know this is it...5 is better then 1,2,3,and 4. I think i'm stressing thinking they might not be as strong since there were a few more this cycle AND they keep reminding me his sample wasn't great. Which thats fine as most of my normies are the ones that were icsi'd only one normie is through IVF. However I repeatedly said to the Dr if the sample after the thaw is not good then he will give a fresh one. I think I'm mad at myself for not just giving it in....I don't know.
Side note: I can't believe i'm still so crampy. Ive done this 6x and this cramping has lasted the longest now WTH! My head is first coming back to normal....definitely this round is taking the longest to bounce back from.

@momifbysea Thanks for explaining that BCP cycle. Mine went exactly as you described. You're the first that I've seen with a similar protocol/schedule to mine.
@Hopeful_mom If everything doesn't go 100% perfectly, there's always something that we're going to question or stress over. 5 out of 6 is really good. That's a better fertilization report than most people get (as you know ). Hoping for positive news the next 5 days!

@Momifbysea What you said about starting a cycle after BCP.... now I get it! I was like..yall why?? lol Whew! I've never done BCP before stimming thus ive always had to go in for BW and US before stimming. Ive always thought it must be nice for the ladies who get to know their ER day so far in advance.
@Hopeful_mom As hard as stimming is, once the eggs are out of my body I find my anxiety is even worse... mostly because its crunch time at this point. Everything is out of your hands and you can only hope something works out. Theres nothing worse than knowing your future relies upon these tiny embryos struggling along in a petri dish in someones lab. Sending you hugs. Just keep doing whatever you need to do to keep from going cray!
@Hopeful_mom Most of my close friends here aren't even in relationships, so I'm sure some of them will want kids in the future but mine will be much older (if all goes to plan! ) I'm sure I'll make "mom friends," but it's scary having no one as a base.
I'm sorry about the dead egg. Happy to hear that 5 fertilized, though! As for the sample, good to know about the freezing. Back in the day, DH had talked vaguely about freezing a bunch when we were doing IUIs and then combining them, since he has low motility. I doubt the doctors would have gone with that, our insurance definitely would not have covered it, and it sounds like freezing would have just made things worse, haha. Obviously you've done this more than me, but I think since you're doing ICSI it won't matter if his sample wasn't that great, as long as there were X number of good ones for the eggs. I hope you get some nice normies out of this batch!
@BusinessWife My clinic also has you call on CD1 and come in on CD3. I think it's so they can plan, to an extent, how many people they have coming in.
Okay, so I Od late this cycle but I had a feeling my L.P. might shorten up to balance it out... *edited TMI*
...so I *am hoping* it might just turn into real spotting tonight and CD1 tomorrow.
@hopefulmom I am crossing my fingers so hard for you. I also had 7 eggs retrieved and we ended up with a good looking 5 day blast to transfer. You got this.
AFM, I'm peeing on things. Still seeing negative after negative. 7dp5dt and starting to feel discouraged. Starting to think about the next step if this doesn't work, which is saving money to hopefully do another round next year.
Has as anyone ever gone backwards while waiting for a next IVF cycle, like going on clomid? I'm considering trying a few months of clomid this winter while saving for the next IVF cycle. I've never done clomid, we went right to IUI with injectables. But I'd love to hear your thoughts.
@BusinessWife Hooray! You've got the meds and you're ready to go! I hope AF cooperates today.
@megmac2010 I'm sorry about the BFN. ::( FX that it's just early, but I completely understand feeling discouraged because I'm battling the same feeling. For the clomid, is there a reason they had you go straight to injectables rather than starting with clomid or letrozole? If not, it seems like a reasonable thing to propose to your doctor.
AFM 7dp5dt for me, too, and BFN. I'm not going to test again until I go in for the beta on Friday, but it's so hard maintaining any optimism right now. Pity party ahead. I'm agitated, emotional, and crampy, which are all AF signs for me and are definitely not the recipe for a great day today. Scrolling through Instagram this morning, a picture of a newborn (in a random NYTimes article) made me irrationally upset and jealous, and now I'm fighting back tears in my office for literally no reason other than frustration. So today should be fun. DH says we should still be hopeful, and I know we're not out until the beta confirms it, but it's just really hard. Trying to stay positive, and avoid the *TW* colleague I just discovered is KU because that's just going to send me into a downward spiral *TW*.
@BusinessWife OMG! Did AF come for you yet? I think today is going to be the day for me. I was just about to type this and say... nope nothin yet, then I started getting mega cramps and just a touch of spotting... so fingers crossed!!
@megmac2010@bababatty Most people wait till about 9DP5DT you still have a chance! Also whats the sensitivity of the test youre using.... I recommend wondfos or FRER... ive gotten pos on those days before on anything else.
Hey all! My trip was amazing, I wasn't ready to come back I didn't have much trouble flying with my meds, mainly the icepack was a problem, because I didn't have a freezer in the first hotel room and was trying to keep the pack frozen in a bucet of ice before flying out the next day... didn't work so well, and the pack was mostly slush by the time TSA was inspecting it. Thankfully, they let me through, and my meds survived the trip.
I had my first follicle scan today, and it went well I think. It's technically only CD8, so the follicles were still pretty small; She didn't give me a count, but said there was potential for quite a few. There were even a couple on my left side that hopefully continue to develop.
I'm continuing the Gonal-F and I start Cetrotide tomorrow morning. Does the Cetrotide sting? Or does it just cause itchiness afterward?
I go back on Saturday for my next scan.

If cetrotide is like ganerelix then yes it does sting.... In fact the ganerelix needle sux too! lol.. so its like kinda dull and then you get the burn from the medicine as well.... hopefully yours has a better needle! Yay for all those follies! Lucky lady!
@megmac2010 I'm glad you brought that up as Ive considered doing the same or once I can't do IVF anymore due to cost maybe at least keep going with medicated IUI? Sounds better than not doing any intervention. I read somewhere that there's a lifetime limit on Femara of 6 cycles and that's what I used for my iui's.
AFM: day 3 us/bw this morning. Right side has 2 follies and left side had 1. Please pray for me to have at least 5 by Friday when I go back as they cancel cycles with less than 5 follies. I'm a little stressed but trying to relax. In my prior 2 cycles I was slow to start and then I got a few more.
@megmac2010 and @bababatty Sorry that you both have negatives and frustration today but I'm currently looking at a post in a FB IVF support group I'm part of. Last night at 7dp5dt, this girl had a complete negative and was sure she was out but this morning see came back with a squinter at 8dp. That could very well happen to the two of you!! I've been MIA, but after my failed FET, I really think I needed a break from all that is IVF. It feels good, actually, to not think of IVF 24/7! But my 3rd cycle has officially started in that I was cleared to continue after my baseline, which revealed 18 follicles total (the most I've had, actually, so hope it's a good sign). My ER is tentatively scheduled around 9/4, but I did just email my RE to ask if he plans to trigger me later in the hopes of getting more mature eggs (which happened last time), so the date may move a bit. There's so much going on with the group, I can't comment on everything, other than congrats to those who are getting good news and hugs to those who are getting not-so-good news.....we have all been there.
Me: 41; DH: 45 Both married for the first time in our 40s; went straight to IVF after multiple fibroid surgeries (2/17) ER: #1: agonist/antagonist protocol: 19 eggs; 8 mature; 13 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable) (4/17) ER: #2: same protocol but stimmed an extra 2 days: 16 eggs; 10 mature (5 more matured in lab); 13 fertilized; 2 6-day blasts (5AA & 6BA) & 2 7-day blasts (6BA & 5BB): only 1 Day 6 6BA tested normal! FET on 7/10/17 Beta on 7/21/17: Negative:( (8/17) ER #3: 9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable) Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery. Done with IVF.
@dragonette505 and @allycheer00 Thank you! That actually does make me feel a lot better. I used both a FRER and a Wondfo this morning, but it's good to be reminded that it could just be too early. That cheered me up quite a bit. Hugs!
@ReesaAnne16 Welcome back! I'm glad TSA didn't give you any trouble and it sounds like your follies are growing nicely. I found the Cetrotide itched afterward, but I had no burning (unlike with menopur...grrrr), and I agree that the needle felt more dull that my other needles. Keep on chugging, follies!
@ReesaAnne16 glad you werent detained! Now a days anything can happen! Great thinking with the ice bucket. For me I don't think the cetritide burned as much as menupar...itchy YES!! And sometimes the area was a lil hot too.
@megmac2010 and @bababatty Sorry you're not seeing squinter's yet BUT I have to agree its still early for sure! When I was carrying twins which is double the amount to get a positive I didn't see something till 8dpt...so hang in there and hoping you see something soon!
@Momifbysea cheer up its only day 3 you have a long way to go! I think its great that a couple have already sprouted!! My clinic cancels cycles too but do you ask them to consider it as a mini ivf cycle then and not charge you as much as a regular ivf round?
angelbea hey! welcome back glad you're ready to go! Excited for you to try again! I actually was hoping you would see my update on my consult with dr braverman, was curious on your thoughts.
AFM: Just started a new job and i have a feeling its going to interfere with my FET time BUT I'm going to have to figure out how to not stress and work around it! My Day 2 report is all my embabies are looking good! @megmac2010 - I would consider a couple of months of clomid if I'd not done any clomid cycles, but I'm hoping you will be pregnant, so you won't have to!
@Bababatty - I'm sorry for the bad day. This is really frustrating and sad. If I were getting AF signs, I'd be beside myself - and then that coupled with the KU-ed coworker and the photo of a newborn would make me want to crawl under a rock. Hang in there, lady.
I had a spiral moment myself the other day. Another of my friends it pregnant with her second. I was kind of expecting it, but of course the announcement came while I was navigating the new surgery waitlist and when it came I realized just how long we've been trying to do something that other people spend time trying to prevent... Some days, it all feels particularly unfair, you know?
Thanks @Hopeful_mom -- good to see you and it looks like you have some strong embies!! I tried to look back to see your comment about Dr. B -- I've never heard of "silent endo" (yet another condition we all need to consider as the cause for our problems!), but it seems like you just went forward with your ER, since the testing would take up so much time/money. I think you did the right thing. I've found that a number of places want to test for everything under the sun, but sometimes, depending on the person, I'm not sure if that gets you closer to your "goal" -- although it does clarify the picture. For me, my biggest issue is age (which I don't need a test for), so time is really my biggest hurdle. If I have bigger issues than time, I figure I will find out soon enough. Do you plan to do any of the suggested testing/treatments post ER?
@Hopeful_mom@BusinessWife nope!!! AF is abusing my uterus from the inside but not arriving. I've been having hella cramps.... I'm guessing this estrogen is just giving me the lovely treat of extra long pms im done looking for it.... ima wear white pants tomorrow just to temp her!
Thanks everyone. I know it's early still, but in my irrational brain I just know it didn't work. My clinic does the beta reeeeeally late.... 16dpt! But I'm not going to pee on anymore things. It bums me out too much!
We are definitely making plans for what to do between IVF rounds. We're also considering switching clinics and going to one with a shared risk program. Thanks for the input, I don't know what I would do without you all!
@megmac2010 the TWW is the worst as you get towards the end
@Businesswife Its possible they will coast me a day or two on the estrogen (and I always stim long) so I'm sure we will still be on the same schedule! lol
angelbea Its funny you mention time as I do believe that is my main issue even though I hate to believe it. Or my OH sperm just has really terrible directions Its frustrating all together! I would've actually done the testing prior to starting my cycle if things would've aligned correctly. Obviously at this point I'm praying I don't need it! Since I have been able to get a normal embryo I felt I didn't need to stop the IVF cycle, I am hoping I made the right decision At this point I will hope my body is ready for an FET and everything goes well. Who want to keep taking more tests upon tests...not me!! Silent endo is annoying for sure and I"m surprised that in todays day and age there isn't a drink that can light you up like a xmas tree inside showing that you might have it!
@megmac2010. still hoping for a miracle for you! Going for a second opinion could be good and to find other options you can still do to keep on TTC! Many woman use just clomid and have success, so who knows...
AFM: I cannot believe how huge i still feel and uncomfortable! I feel and look 9 months pregnant...ok maybe 5/6 months but its still awful!! Definitely the longest recovery for me yet! I literally came home from work ate animal crackers and went to bed....not like me at all!! Hoping to get my Day 3 report soon!

@Hopeful_mom I hope you start feeling better really soon! I didn't mean to come across as feeling down in my post, more just nervous anticipation I guess? Looking forward to tomorrow's appointment and reminding myself it's still early!
@megmac2010 I'm still holding good thoughts for you! I haven't personally made it to that point yet, BUT have heard tons of stories from others where it just took longer to know for sure. Thinking of you!

wow, really??? OMG y'all I'm on cycle...what 6...7 by now? And never have they let me start stimming without me giving blood and having a baseline us.... I was also there last week for bw and us before starting priming.
ETA: Just wanted to say they were so emphatic about it I have an email from one of my nurses saying under no circumstances begin meds without having seen my doc :O lol
Edit as I wanted to add I was hoping I did hit a nerve or something to that effect...dr google said maybe but then the dr didn't agree
allycheer00 I agree the way I'm still feeling today makes me think the same way.

Lmao

That's a better fertilization report than most people get (as you know
). Hoping for positive news the next 5 days!

Just keep doing whatever you need to do to keep from going cray!
...so I *am hoping* it might just turn into real spotting tonight and CD1 tomorrow.

How are you holding up, @dragonette505?????
AFM, I'm peeing on things. Still seeing negative after negative. 7dp5dt and starting to feel discouraged. Starting to think about the next step if this doesn't work, which is saving money to hopefully do another round next year.
Has as anyone ever gone backwards while waiting for a next IVF cycle, like going on clomid? I'm considering trying a few months of clomid this winter while saving for the next IVF cycle. I've never done clomid, we went right to IUI with injectables. But I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for letting me rant, ladies.
My trip was amazing, I wasn't ready to come back
I had my first follicle scan today, and it went well I think.

Yay for all those follies! Lucky lady!

@megmac2010 and @bababatty Sorry you're not seeing squinter's yet BUT I have to agree its still early for sure! When I was carrying twins which is double the amount to get a positive I didn't see something till 8dpt...so hang in there and hoping you see something soon!
dragonette505 so is AF here?
@Momifbysea cheer up its only day 3 you have a long way to go! I think its great that a couple have already sprouted!! My clinic cancels cycles too but do you ask them to consider it as a mini ivf cycle then and not charge you as much as a regular ivf round?
angelbea hey! welcome back glad you're ready to go! Excited for you to try again! I actually was hoping you would see my update on my consult with dr braverman, was curious on your thoughts.
