@Hopeful_mom. Maybe that cane out wrong! Lol I work 20 hours a week, so the way they schedule me could be 830-1230, 930-330, 11-430 etc. Etc. Etc. So I never know from one week to the next what my schedule will be like. 830-430 is open to close, so if she could put me in a couple full days early in the week, then be off later on, that might help, but normally I'm spread out throughout the week so... lol we'll see! So very sorry about the loss -iversary. (((Hugs))) I have to believe that those who sew in tears will reap in joy. ❤
@ReesaAnne16. I'm sure flying with meds happens a lot more than you might think - epipens, diabetics etc. I would say just a little cold pack in a mini pouch, if it's supposed to be refrigerated, or else just in a little makeup pouch or something in your purse/carryon shoukd be fine. ;) so exciting!!!
@Magallyta. Welcome! That's amazing they let you decide once you see how it went, instead of ahead of time! This will be my first cycle too, so I don't have any experience, but I know ladies who have done fresh transfers with good results!

My bff did a fresh day 3 transfer of 2 and one stuck! She's 13 weeks now... another bump friend I believe did a fresh transfer and is my with twins ATM.
My clinic only does frozen and makes you choose to test or not prior to cycling. We are leaning towards not testing for various reasons, but to each their own. We might still be doing it if it were covered! Idk. Not knowing how old you are or any of the rest of your history, it's tough to say what might be best for you, as it's a very personal choice. What way are you leaning?
DH is so sweet. He asked this morning as he was getting ready to leave for work, what day we start the injections. So I told him it'll be CD3 and since I Od a few days later than usual (maybe due to the SHG? Idk), I need to just keep an eye, bc AF could arrive later than usual, or it could even out and catch me off guard now if I'm not careful. I'm glad he's starting to gear up a bit in his own way!
He has diabetes, and while he no longer takes insulin, he has plenty of experience with the sub-q stuff and even the click pens lol. So I'm hoping he will be glad to help me with that.
But when I told him about the 10 weeks of IM PIO if FET works, ...he just cringed. :/ ughh.
@Magallyta I did a fresh transfer on my first 2 cycles. TW * With my first one I had a Chemical pregnancy, second one didn't take* So they do work. I would be more afraid of a FET, I know freezing has evolved a lot, but it's still a chance it can damage the embryo, and especially if you have just a few...
Ladies, thanks so much for your support!!!!! I tested again today, still negative. I am almost sure it didn't take so I am kind of at peace with it. But I wouldn't mind a positive surprise .

@Hopeful_mom Ugh... due dates are hard... sending hugs Good news though about your estrogen and follies!! @BusinessWife Yay for DH getting ready! This time of waiting for AF is a little nerve wracking... i have created several calendars of possible stim schedules...lol it keeps me busy i guess! I have seen ppl on youtube show and talk about the PIO and it looks hardcore! Ive done the suppositories and they were not "fun" either (tmi: super leaky and gross feeling) but not painful like PIO looks to be
@hopefulmom - thank you for the welcome. I went to doc & he's recommending pgs testing & not do a fresh transfer. Right now I have 2 good embroyos to test waiting on the 3rd embroyo results.
@BusinessWife- lets my stats I am 38, I have a healthy 4yr old & 1 miscarriage last year. This am doc recommended to do pgs testing & not a fresh transfer.
Hey Guys - some news from me. Looks like my fibroid removal won't be until at least NOVEMBER. Ugh. So awful. I could move it up faster, but it would be more expensive, and we are all OOP.
Anyway, feeling a little down about it today.
@marioana99 - I'm sorry. Still hoping you get a positive surprise too.
@BusinessWife - excited for you to get started! Hoping this will all be over for you soon!
@Hopeful_mom - I'm so sorry that this would be the due date. Ugh.
@ReesaAnne16 - I'm excited for your AF to arrive too!
@funkykey the same thing happened to me when I was starting ivf. The surgery was scheduled almost 2 months out. Sorry for the bad news. Frustrating.
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.
@funkykey. Oh dear, wow. I am so sorry for the added delay. ❤
@Magallyta Okay. I'm sorry about your loss. Do you happen to know your AFC or AMH? I am inclined to think if the doctor is recommending PGS and FET, that's what I would do. My clinic has better rates with FET, so I personally feel good about that regardless of testing. Not sure if PGS is covered for you or not, but that also played into our decision to skip it, unfortunately. But with frozen they are able to let the body reset and be nice and ready for transfer vs. with fresh people say it's like the body has just been through so much from the reteieval. But we were not given that option to choose fresh/frozen bc my clinic ONLY does FET.
@Hopeful_Mom I hope you did something special for yourself today! Hugs!
@FunkyKey Darnit! Sorry that it's really dragging out for you.
@Magallyta Welcome! I saw you over on the other board but you guys were way too far in for me to feel comfortable in joining. My best friend did a FET late 2015 with the only normal embryo she had. Her daughter is turning one next week so I feel pgs and FET are good options.

@Magallyta i'm sorry for your loss but glad to hear you have had success!! I wonder why your RE recommends PGS. Mine at 40 didn't until I had my losses. Glad 2 have made it through, hoping that 3rd one pulls through and your normie is in there!
@BusinessWife awwww i love that DH is all in, its so important to have, thats great! and ooooooooo 20 a week nice, got it It would be great if they could just give you 2 full days for the week and you can chillax the rest of the week!

You ladies are a great support system & very supportive!!! Thank you.
@BusinessWife i am new to all the terms & getting educated on ivf. I don't know my actual #'s but doc did say my ovarian reserve was low. I had 4 follies, 5 eggs & 3 fertilized. My insurance covers ivf but not pgs which is why we questioned it. We decided after the docs adamant response to not do a fresh transfer to pay for pgs.
@hopefulmom- from the initial consultation he felt strongly towards pgs testing. I also did a very high dosage of meds for my shots. Mid way through my cycle he thought I might need to do a fresh transfer. He felt that I would not get enough follies. Now that I have 2 embs to test he backed up his initial stance.
@allycheer00- hi nice to meet you! Thank you I feel at peace with the decision we made. It was a very stressful am with calling the doc & nurses to ensure this way the right to do.
I have to believe that those who sow in tears will reap in joy. ❤
I love this I have shed enough tears to water a rice patty I hope, in the end, there will be as much joy as I imagine there would be.

@Magallyta - Hello! I really hope you hear some good news with your PGS.
@Hopeful_mom - I know what you mean by EDDs... sigh. Hang in there!! You will have a great ER, I can just feel it.
@funkykey - Ugh, the wait sucks. Really hopeful that the fibroid surgery will be all worth it in the end.
@BusinessWife - My clinic also strongly favors FET versus fresh. I honestly don't mind because I wasn't in tip top physical shape day 3 after ER, and I probably could've swung a day 5 transfer but that is pushing it. I'm in awe of all the women who went back to shots and meds right after ER!
My TTC journey:
Me and DH: 30-35 Unexplained infertility TTC #1 since 2015 11/2015 - BFP! 12/2015 - MC IVF #1 July 2017 freeze all (20 eggs, 15 mature, 10 fert, 6 blasts, 4 PGS normal) FET #1 TBD Surprise BFP 9/2017 while waiting for FET... hoping for the best!
I took a little bump break during my stims and retrieval, because hearing other people's good or bad news stresses me out! But I'm back and I hope you all are in a good place.
I had a 5 day transfer on 8/8. One hatching blast that looked good. So obviously I'm binging all of the sitcoms possible (science says to laugh, right? That's the excuse I gave my husband.).
I know that I should be grateful that we got a good blast to transfer. I know some people would do anything to have the result I got. But I'm still disappointed that we didn't end up with any to freeze. I had 5 compacting morulas on day 4, and the embryologist even went as far as to say she was "confident" that we would be freezing some. And then all but one arrested. I was devastated. I'm trying hard to be happy about the one we transferred, to be cautiously optimistic. But I'm irrationally angry and upset.
I'm looking forward to getting caught up with your stories! Take care everyone!
Thanks guys... I'm still feeling a little bit sorry for myself. The doctors told me they'd decided to do the medical freeze all after the u/s right before my ER - which I know is standard, but I guess I thought it would be for something like OHSS, not for an issue on my uterus that I'd been told looked "very minor", and my RE had first noticed almost two months before - before I started stimming or anything.
I wish I'd known more sooner, so I could have avoided getting my hopes up, and at least could have gotten in with the surgeon sooner. I know the doctors are human and make mistakes, but I'm frustrated. I keep thinking that I'm such an idiot, I can't believe I actually thought this might be over soon in early July.
Ugh. I keep trying to remember how I felt when we got the day 6 call about our blasts. Seems like a really long time ago.
@megmac2010 - keeping FX for you, I'm sorry you didn't have any others to freeze. I would have been devastated too. This sucks so much.
@ReesaAnne16 I'm just lurking here before we do IVF in September but I wanted to answer your question about traveling with needles. Just bring a paper copy of your prescription. I've seen several people go through TSA with IVF meds/needles. Typically the TSA agent will want to look in the cooler or whatever and look at the prescription then wave you through. I know at JFK and LGA (where I fly out of most) the TSA agents are well aware of people traveling with medical supplies for IVF and just want to eyeball it. I've never seen anyone have an issue.
Hi all, thank you so much for your good thoughts! I'm sorry I vanished; we actually went to visit my family at our lake house for a long weekend. I'm lucky the retrieval went so smoothly because we flew out that night (with the clinic's permission). I was not expecting the gas pressure for days afterward. It only finally dissipated the other day. Anyway, we did the fresh transfer yesterday, which also went really well. Of my 9 eggs, 5 fertilized. I had one good quality hatching blast ready to go, so we transferred that. Three others are bringing up the rear and one arrested. I'm really happy with the results. Hoping the other three pan out and we're able to freeze them. My beta is next Friday. DH and I have been silly, talking to the embryo and telling it to get nice and cozy in there. Here's hoping it works!
@allycheer00 I'm so happy you get to start your FET cycle! Huzzah! FX the hormones don't mess with that cyst and all moves forward.
@BusinessWife I hear you on wanting to avoid taking off work. Luckily my boss knows what we're doing and is super supportive, but I really hated telling her two days in advance--twice!--that I needed to be out the entire day.
Also so sweet about your DH paying attention and being involved with the schedule! I'm glad he has the experience to help you out. You're definitely one step ahead!
@ReesaAnne16 I didn't fly with my IVF meds, but I did fly once with Ovidrel. I had no problem getting it through security, even packaged with an ice pack. They didn't even check it, and that was flying from LaGuardia where I expect security to be high. Obviously, Gonal-F is much bigger, but I think if you bring the paper RX you should be able to avoid any headaches.
@Hopeful_mom I'm sorry about yesterday. I know that must be so hard. Lots of hugs to you.
Yeah and now they put me up to 40 hours!!! Yay?? But uhmmm... is that terrible that I am thinking of just calling in a sick day, morning of? :/ I really don't like not being our own boss, when it gets right down to it
@adirat Thank you! It is a huge relief to hear this, honestly. I have my paper RX and was planning to bring it. I'm going to try not to stress about it anymore, and just enjoy the trip

@funkykey I totally feel you! I keep looking at due date.com everytime I think I'm going to be able to do an FET...at this point I could've had a baby in every season. I really thought I was doing a May or June FET...to think HOPEFULLY I'm doing on in Sept. I now say as long as my body is ready to go...why I've done so many cycles in a row. I'd be frustrated to would be nice to have had an appt for this right after your ER. I hate the "everything happens for a reason!" Just hoping this will be your only delay!
AFM: E2 is rising which is nice to see at 756 but i am concerned about my bigger follie coming in at 19 with another 2 at 17 and 16.5. my other 5 range from 11.5 - 14.5 so obviously I really need those to perk up now. They might trigger me tomorrow but it all depends on how it goes so its back to the RE in the am. I know I'm close but every day at the dr is no fun either. I know its funny that i'm sitting here hoping I can make it to a sunday trigger to have my own RE do the ER on tuesday.....and watch she will call out sick that day Thanks for the good vibes ladies - praying this will really be it for me...come on normies

@Bababatty - Good luck on the TWW! And hoping those embryos make it to freeze.
@Hopeful_mom - FX for your follicles! It's always so stressful to monitor how stims are going. I'm neurotic and kept an Excel file which tracked measurements and blood results at every monitoring appointment.

@Magallyta welcome to this board, it's a great support!
AFM, I was in CA (my home state, miss it so much!) the past week so am back. It was a great break before starting stims. Hopefully beach time refreshed my soul. I had my first blood draw and scan for round 3 yesterday and all is a go for starting stims Monday!
@hopeful_mom interesting about determining what side to inject on. Ive always done my morning follistim and evening menopur both on one side the first day, then both on the other side the next day, back and forth. Not because anybody told me to, just more to give the injection sites time to be less sore before going near that area again. Who knows?
AFM: Just dealing with this estrogen priming... Im doing pills instead of patches and im definitely feeling more effects. SO tired and sleepy after taking them. Also nooooo libido. Poor DH! Im also feeling crampy... SO hoping AF doesnt come till at least tomorrow since i will be in NC for the weekend and if it starts today i basically have to cancel my trip anyway... just wanting naps over here! lol
Thank you, all! I'm pretty certain this is the closest we've ever gotten to a definitive pregnancy, so I'm definitely relishing it.
@Hopeful_mom I'll probably POAS next Wednesday (that's 7DP5DT, right? Did I even get that whole thing right, haha?) since DH will be flying out that night and it would be nice to know with him. Also I have all these Wondfos floating around--might as well use them! I can't believe you're almost to trigger. That seems like it went by really fast! What was the verdict today? I'm hoping your other follies catch on up to the lead.
@Momifbysea Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great trip home and a well deserved vacation. Enjoy your last weekend before stims.
@dragonette505 Nap time under your desk (if you have one)? ;-) Sorry you're feeling so crampy and tired. Bad combo all around. That B AF better hold off for you. FX for a good trip this weekend. Enjoy!
@Momifbysea Usually they do the priming because the theory is that you know when they do a baseline after O (before the IVF cycle) and they see how many antral follicles are sitting around? They see them as the stock they are starting off with for the next cycle. The Priming is mean to keep the follicle sort of growing together (instead of allowing a lead follicle to form) and possibly if you are lucky, allow some more follicles to pop up and join the party. My nurse also said supplementing with estrogen gives your ovaries a break before you get them all hopped up during stimming.
@Bababatty Lol.. we have a wellness room to nap in, but some damn body is in there (doing yoga cause I saw her take her mat) so I guess i will go to the gym and "meditate" What kills me is we have a beautiful yoga room to go do yoga in but she doesnt want to ride the elevator up, i guess So now i'll use the yoga room to rest my eyes instead of the nice comfy lounger ooooo! Almost time for POAS!!
@Hopeful_mom I also wrote down and took pictures of my follicle sizes each day and wrote down my hormone levels on my chart. Maybe I'll journal it all one day. You are getting so close! So exciting! Maybe they'll let you go a few more days so the smaller ones can get closer and you can get your RE as well. Mine had 5 of us that had a scheduled retrieval over the weekend so he came in to do his own patients, thankfully.

@megmac Congrats on your transfer! Will you be testing early? It is not irrational at all to be angry. We do so much work during this process and to get less than desirable results is very frustrating. Even if we should be grateful that we got what we got, it doesn't change the fact that this IVF numbers game is horrible. A girl on FB was saying yesterday that she had 61 eggs retrieved and only one was normal. I can't imagine.

Momifbysea woohoo!! welcome to the stemming party...i'm wrapping it up and you can keep it going...i'm passing the baton As for the injections i used to do that too, i think the nurses even mentioned it. However during acupuncture last cycle when i mentioned one side was a lil behind she mentioned that the gonal f is stronger and should put it on that side. Is she right? Who knows. But my left side was a lil smaller then the right so I put everything on the left and just did the cetritide on the right. Maybe it worked as I didn't have a huge growth jump on the right so i will do the same tonight and see what happens... As for the priming a bunch of gals on the low amh board did the EPP and it seemed to help them. For me the very first cycle i did the priming for it was like 2 weeks and even though I got double digits at ER i did not get an normies that cycle. My 3 following cycles i only did priming for 3/5 days and got normies out of the group so hoping following suit will bring me the same.
dragonette505 thats so interesting that you get to prime orally...the patches irritated my skin, was happy to just have to wear the one this cycle. Sorry you're in pain but yay for AF - this means you get the show on the road right? you're priming info is spot on you can teach a class I love that you have a room to rest your eyes, i need to work there!
Bababatty so excited for you!!! are you doing anything extra? pineapple core, brazillian nuts? Everyone always hears something that can help! I think its a great idea to do it with Dh that will be a great send off for him!
allycheer00 so funny you mention the chart i was thinking that the other day! Everyones been doing pretty well without it, i'm impressed....and then i thought maybe i missed a post for it YAY that your DR take care of their patients. My place has different offices too so they're not all even in the clinics at the same time so I get it. I think its since i've gone through this so many times you like to be with an RE you like or know. I think its tough enough that all the people that are in the room with you are different so its nice to know someone. Lucky me at this point I always know someone in the room. I think they might throw my baby shower at this point AND 61 eggs thats something ugh i'm sure that didn't tickle!!
AFM: We're still measuring 8 but i'm not sure all will make it to the party. I've got my mama running the pack at 19, 17, (2) 18.5 (2) 15.5 a 13 and 11. Praying I can at least get these 6 and hopefully the 13 can at least make it. AND i have to pray none of them are empty...so many unknowns in this process my E2 was 756 it should be higher today but the nurse forgot to tell me as it was hard to hear traveling on the train (talk about timing)...so i have to remember when i go in tomorrow to ask. I'm close will probably trigger tomorrow or sunday....

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I feel like a huge a-hole for complaining about getting a blast to transfer when other people would gladly run over me with a car for the outcome.
I am a big believer in driving myself crazy, so yes, I'm going to pee on all the things. I like to test out my trigger, so I don't doubt any future positives (not that it's ever happened......). I think I'll start peeing tomorrow (4dp5dt).
@dragonette505 I need to find out where you work so I can get a job at a place with a nap room.
Re: Anyone doing IVF in July/August?

He has diabetes, and while he no longer takes insulin, he has plenty of experience with the sub-q stuff and even the click pens lol. So I'm hoping he will be glad to help me with that.
But when I told him about the 10 weeks of IM PIO if FET works, ...he just cringed. :/ ughh.
Ladies, thanks so much for your support!!!!! I tested again today, still negative. I am almost sure it didn't take so I am kind of at peace with it. But I wouldn't mind a positive surprise

@BusinessWife Yay for DH getting ready! This time of waiting for AF is a little nerve wracking... i have created several calendars of possible stim schedules...lol it keeps me busy i guess! I have seen ppl on youtube show and talk about the PIO and it looks hardcore! Ive done the suppositories and they were not "fun" either (tmi: super leaky and gross feeling) but not painful like PIO looks to be
@BusinessWife- lets my stats I am 38, I have a healthy 4yr old & 1 miscarriage last year. This am doc recommended to do pgs testing & not a fresh transfer.

Hope this helps!

@BusinessWife figures when you dont want the extra hours you get them
@funkykey I totally feel you!
I know its funny that i'm sitting here hoping I can make it to a sunday trigger to have my own RE do the ER on tuesday.....and watch she will call out sick that day

Who knows?
@Hopeful_mom Cant wait to hear if today is trigger day!
@Momifbysea OMG! Starting Monday! SO cool!!
AFM: Just dealing with this estrogen priming... Im doing pills instead of patches and im definitely feeling more effects. SO tired and sleepy after taking them. Also nooooo libido. Poor DH! Im also feeling crampy... SO hoping AF doesnt come till at least tomorrow since i will be in NC for the weekend and if it starts today i basically have to cancel my trip
anyway... just wanting naps over here! lol
@Bababatty Lol.. we have a wellness room to nap in, but some damn body is in there (doing yoga cause I saw her take her mat) so I guess i will go to the gym and "meditate" What kills me is we have a beautiful yoga room to go do yoga in but she doesnt want to ride the elevator up, i guess
ooooo! Almost time for POAS!!
now I don't have to pretend to meditate!
