@Malibu45 We will be retrieval buddies! I'm triggering tonight at 10:30 for a Tuesday morning retrieval. Hurray! I feel tired too, and I'm definitely bloated feeling. After my last retrieval, I remember feeling sore "down there" for 2-3 days, but nothing a little Tylenol didn't take care off. I also bled/spotted for a few days; I'm not sure if that's typical. Anesthesia goes easier if you just relax and let it work; the nurses do this anesthesia all the time, you're in safe hands
Our scan today went well, the follicles are still smaller than our previous cycle, but my dr. thinks she can get 7 eggs (We will let the lab choose the best 5 to fertilize with ICSI)
I'm thankful my doctor has been doing all my scans this time, instead of the nurse (even though I love my nurse); I think she feels guilty about my early ovulation last time and is taking extra precaution by doing everything herself. My progesterone was low today (that's good at this stage) and I'm taking an extra dose of cetrotide this afternoon just to be on the safe side. I'm triggering tonight and the retrieval is Tuesday!!

Malibu45 glad you got the call best of luck to u! I hate such early ER but at least you know you're not waiting on someone else. Of course its normal to be tired, its almost a week since my ER and i'm still exhausted!! Just try and relax and take care of yourself as much as you can. The one cycle I had more follies growing I felt pain every time I sat by the end, each time its different.

We are doing mini IVF, and all the prices are for 5 eggs or less. Right now, I have 7 mature follicles, so if we decided we wanted to fertilize all 7, the cost for ICSI, and embryology fees would be the same as full IVF (I think about $1500 more). We decided 5 was a good number for us, because we aren't doing PGS testing and we don't want to have extra embryos "left over". I have known women who had all of their eggs fertilize and grow to blastocyst stage, and are pregnant from their first transfer, so we decided we didn't want to risk fertilizing more eggs than we wanted embryos/children.

ReesaAnne16 wow that is amazing!!! You have so many follies for a mini IVF good for you!!! I actually had a conversation with my clinic and felt that since I wasn't even getting 5 I shouldve been considered a mini IVF and not have to pay the full IVF cycle, its so tough! Thrilled thats your results from mini IVF!

@Malibu45 the going to sleep is the best part! Lol I suggest a heating pad for sure (I've used one after all my retrieval) Tylenol for sure (haven't tried the midol) I did electrolyte water and coconut water (some ppl say Gatorade but I can't recommend since I don't drink that) I didn't do salty food per se, but the theory is it's meant to help absorb the extra fluid left over in the follicles . Normally when you're only ovulating one egg you have a little bloat that clears after AF. If you ovulate 19,20 eggs imagine all that extra fluid! It's hard for the body to clear that on its own. A little extra salt can help with the electrolyte imbalance made by having all those extra eggs.
@hopefulmom I know, it must be so frustrating to go through the full IVF meds and monitoring for the same number of eggs We are lucky I have responded so well to the low stim option; our main problem is MFI, which I think makes us a better candidate for mini IVF. We're definitely blessed in that sense; it remains to be seen whether DH's sperm are capable of doing their job
Part of what makes mini IVF cheaper, is there is no blood work monitoring, and typically there are only 3 ultrasounds (1 base, and 2 monitoring). Much of the IVF cost is in these procedures. Usually there is a fresh transfer of up to 3 embryos at day 3, but we opted to pay more and grow them all to day 5/6. Also drugs are cheaper because I'm only on letrozole and low dose Gonal F (we added cetrotide this cycle too). Post retrieval I'll be on doxycycline, estrace, and PIO shots.
Praying your little embabies keep growing!!

@malibu45 I can't even imagine that number of follies! Good job. Yay for trigger tonight! I took Aleve and that helped. Laid on the couch all ER day but the next day when I was at work was when I really felt it. Also, during this process, my body has felt weighed down. Like there are heavy bricks on my shoulder. All these hormones. @Momifbysea Way to go!! So proud that you were able to plow through your fear of needles. I bet you feel like Super Woman! @Hopeful_mom That 5AB sounds more than promising! @allycheer00..thanks! It totally creeps me out to think I have 23 follicles inside me !! I read online that a mature follicle is the size of a green grape..so basically I have two bunches of green grapes hanging out inside me. I feel totally exhausted !
Malibu45 thats kind of hilarious about green grapes as when you get your bfp ur lil baby takes quite a while to get to the size of a green grape!
ReesaAnne16 I'm glad that your body is responding and hope DH job will do there thing when called up to the plate Its funny with monitoring as we pay for it through insurance, the visits are the one thing I pay for which still cost me I think $50 a visit, so trust me I rather have fewer of them. I laugh at the amount I have gotten which has taken me rounds and rounds takes some people just one round! Its hard not to be jealous BUT it also makes you wonder why some of the pricing for things aren't different for clinics. Like when you do PGS testing you pay for what you have. I feel terrible for woman that go through the full IVF cycle and get only one, so trust me I still have to be happy when I at least get 3 to the blast stage. Just crazy how each cycle is so different. Good luck with your trigger? Which one is it?
@Momifbysea I"m glad you got through the first and each one you do will get easier. At times when it does hurt I too would have to close my eyes and psych myself into getting it in! Hope tonight goes as smoothly for you!
dragonette505 my cat plays hockey with everything! SO I must put everything away! Its like she knows its medicine time and starts getting into everything! @Malibu45 somewhere around stim Day 7 or 8 I get crushing exhaustion. My first ER was 24 eggs so I feel your pain with the bloating! @colenola here are a few of the classes I like. One is for in between ivf cycles when you can twist again, but the restorative ones are great for during cycles
@Hopeful_mom I always say that my kitty is why I can't have nice things! Lol but I love him and he's worth it! If I left my meds out I'd have nothing left for shots! Lol. I think that bag of chips was fine! Last time i had a gluten free pizza on retrieval day!!! We all indulge around it!
For those asking about tips for ER, mine's not pretty, but here it is: pick up some stool softener! My oversized ovaries caused a traffic jam and I was so constipated! And you're tender down there, so you won't want to push one out!
... the things they don't tell you about infertility!
AFM, I'm 12dp5dt. Had a BFN yesterday and spotting today. I think it's time to call it. My clinic makes us wait waaay too long for beta (16 days!), so I'm still ages away from a glass of wine and quitting these suppositories!
ReesaAnne16 I dont think you're planning on do another treatment just yet and I'm hoping I wont need any of my left over meds, so if you're in need let me know. The whole way IVF is almost treated as selective and so much at this day and age is insane!!
I'm hoping my FET will be with this next upcoming AF...I'm just praying my body is going to be ok.
I'm just starting to worry i so dont want to go to the dr but i find myself having to brace myself every time i sit AND (TMI) now when I pee I'm feeling like a hot feeling sensation not burning, but something isn't feeling right. If I have a UTI i'm gonna freak out. Why must things start bothering me when I'm finally ready for an FET and I have so much work getting away for an appt will be so tough! AND my boobs are feeling sore! Technically tomorrow is a week since ER so AF shouldn't be here for another week ugh!!!!
dragonette505 I just adore animals especially the furbabies that like love!! My clothing is covered that I need a body size roller after leaving the house.
megmac2010 ugh so sorry to hear! Can we hope its late implantation? Can you call your clinic and have one sooner?

Just had my baseline scan! Ovaries look good and we are cleared to start pending bloodwork! Now to wait for the call from the nurse with dosages and instructions.... while I'm at work all day and can't pick up the phone! :#
@BusinessWife @Hopeful_mom call your nurse. Asap. Don't want to seem hysterical (although my last gif is!) But its best to run this stuff past them. Its better safe than sorry and you don't want any more delays. It could be youre just bruised from retrieval, but it seems to be lingering long for you
@megmac Sorry for your spotting. @Hopeful_mom If you can't miss work to get checked out at your doctor's office, can you go to a medcheck after work? AF might not show for a week so that would be enough time to get meds and cleared up if anything is wrong. Go early!

@megmac2010 I'm so sorry for your spotting, that just sucks. This is a roller coaster for sure.
@BusinessWife wahoooooo!!!!! Let's get this party started!
@Hopeful_mom I hope you can get checked out, seems like a long time out from ER for feeling this way. Hugs!
@Malibu45 I'm laughing about the bunches of grapes...the bloat is real!
Im waiting for the nurse to call with instructions on if I trigger tonight (which would be the same night i did on my last 2 cycles) or if I can do a second day of Ganirelix and maybe have some smaller follies catch up. That would be just awesome to go longer.
By the way, I gave myself the hellfire Menopur last night. Was shaking big time so with the Ganirelix in trembling hand I last minute had DH do that second one. Progress on managing my fear though...
Took my trigger shot last night and today feel worse than I have yet ! I just keep crying because I am so damn uncomfortable ! 23 follicles and possibly even more today..yikes creeps me out !
I just had a call from the nurse and I get a second night of Ganirelix along with the Menopur! I'm so excited because that will give me til night of day 9 of stims to trigger as opposed to day 8 as I did the other cycles. Maybe some small ones can catch up to the 6!!! I go tomorrow morning for the next US/BW. Praying big time that I can get something to freeze finally!
@Malibu45 Ive been there (like I said, 24 on my first ivf)... it is very uncomfortable, but think of every follicle as an opportunity. Some people don't have an egg in each follicle so that can cut down on numbers. You will be retrieving tomorrow, so only one more day of this.... you can do it. I'd give anything to have 23 this go round...
@Momifbysea YAY! Hoping you can pick up a couple more!!!
AFM My doc emailed with an outline for this cycle. She thinks I will start stimming Thursday night and retrieve 8/5, 8/6, or 8/7 YAY! Its just good to have an idea
@dragonette505 I have maybe a dumb question but you have a lot more planned days of stimming than I do. I was curious if that's because we are doing different protocols maybe? It is there just that much differentiation between individuals? I still have a lot to learn. Congrats for a Thursday start, almost there!
@dragonette505...very true !! I am very grateful I am able to even do IVF and have it 100% covered by my insurance and that I have so many follicles too ! I just pray I have viable eggs ..

Well if I start on Thursday and trigger at the earliest on the 3rd, that's about 11 days of stimming. 10 days is pretty typical for standard protocols. I usually stim pretty long ( normally my follies grow pretty slowly. I think it's less about protocols and more how each person responds to stims. How long is/was your stimming?
@dragonette505...very true !! I am very grateful I am able to even do IVF and have it 100% covered by my insurance and that I have so many follicles too ! I just pray I have viable eggs ..
You will! That's the best part about the higher numbers
Hey ladies! We did it! I did my own injections (with DH there for moral support). So far so good! <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/3g/t8fgcp0fvsah.gif" alt="">
@BusinessWife seriously?!?!? Super brave and major badass...yeah!!!
Just a note from tonight...I just gave myself a menopur and I think I pushed the needle in a bit where it goes into the plastic part because when I went to take the needle out the plastic part somehow got caught on skin so it didn't slide out as easily and bled more. Rookie mistake!
Lol I figured I might as well. I mean like @allycheer00 said - if it works, well be doing it for like 10-12 weeks? The likelihood that he'll be there to do it (without complaining lol) for 70-84x seems not that great! I think the shot part is to going to be fine, but everyone keeps saying the angle is too hard to reach??? @dragonette505
busy day here on the board when I haven't had time to pee and since thats still no fun...maybe thats not a bad thing
@Momifbysea. i'm so proud at how brave you'r being - congrats!!! glad you get to go for one more day. Its ok to advocate for yourself too! I chatted with my RE as we went a cycle earlier another time and my large follie was empty and I was afraid the same thing may happen. Hopefully you can trigger tomorrow AND if you still have a lil time for growth ask them if you should take a lil extra shot of gonal F, I've done that too...day of trigger. excited you're almost up!!
@allycheer00@dragonette505BusinessWife ladies i truly appreciate the concern and I'm going to go see my RE she wasn't in today and tomorrow I just can't get away from work which pisses me off but I will try and make it through till wed. Just hoping I can flush it out of my system on my own, I don't know.
Continued luck stemming girls sounds like you're all on top of it
Anyone see the eclipse today...that was my 10min break outside yay!
Malibu45 good luck on your ER yay!!! it'll be over before you know it! So excited for you! Did you really say you're 100% covered or am I seeing things. if so double wow good for you!! Hope to see a great update tomorrow.

Good luck at this morning's scan @MomifbySea. Fx for nice looking follis!!!!
(((Hugs))) @megmac2010. This process can be so brutal. Did the spotting get any better? I would maybe keep taking the suppositories just in case, but idk. Fx for better news soon... ❤
@dragonette505 thanks for explaining on the whole length of stims thing. This morning my follistim marks day 9 of stimming so if I trigger tonight I'm triggering on day 9, whereas my first 2 IVF cycles I triggered the night of day 8 which I always felt was short. Guess I'm just hoping this extra day is the magic!
@Malibu45 and @ReesaAnne16 thinking of you both this morning at your retrievals! The most exciting time! I remember thinking afterward that it was much easier than I'd been worried about. After the fentanyl injection I was in happyland and only remember once I came out of it and went for a nice lunch with DH to celebrate and drink a huge latte too finally.
@BusinessWife Ive never done PIO (thank goodness) Ive done endometrin and next transfer (banking this cycle if I'm lucky enough to get some) I will be doing crinone gel... very yucky and (tmi) leaky but as bad as it was, PIO sounds horrible! @Hopeful_momso glad you have a plan.... I'm hoping its just bruising from the retrieval (some people do get a bruised bladder or something like that ive heard) because they have to manipulate the thingy to aspirate your follicles and its not always straightforward. Just hate hearing youre in pain
Re: Anyone doing IVF in July/August?

@Hopeful_mom That 5AB sounds more than promising! Almost perfect. Fingers crossed it tests normal and you'll have another to add to the team!

And ur explanation sounds spot on...I knew there was a reason but it total escaped me. Probably didn't need to eat a bag of chips for my 7 follies huh

@colenola
here are a few of the classes I like. One is for in between ivf cycles when you can twist again, but the restorative ones are great for during cycles
... the things they don't tell you about infertility!
AFM, I'm 12dp5dt. Had a BFN yesterday and spotting today. I think it's time to call it. My clinic makes us wait waaay too long for beta (16 days!), so I'm still ages away from a glass of wine and quitting these suppositories!
Why must things start bothering me when I'm finally ready for an FET and I have so much work getting away for an appt will be so tough!
megmac2010 ugh so sorry to hear! Can we hope its late implantation? Can you call your clinic and have one sooner?

@Hopeful_mom call your nurse. Asap. Don't want to seem hysterical (although my last gif is!) But its best to run this stuff past them. Its better safe than sorry and you don't want any more delays. It could be youre just bruised from retrieval, but it seems to be lingering long for you
@Hopeful_mom If you can't miss work to get checked out at your doctor's office, can you go to a medcheck after work? AF might not show for a week so that would be enough time to get meds and cleared up if anything is wrong. Go early!

@Momifbysea YAY! Hoping you can pick up a couple more!!!
AFM My doc emailed with an outline for this cycle. She thinks I will start stimming Thursday night and retrieve 8/5, 8/6, or 8/7 YAY! Its just good to have an idea
You will! That's the best part about the higher numbers
<img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/3g/t8fgcp0fvsah.gif" alt="">
Just a note from tonight...I just gave myself a menopur and I think I pushed the needle in a bit where it goes into the plastic part because when I went to take the needle out the plastic part somehow got caught on skin so it didn't slide out as easily and bled more. Rookie mistake!
@dragonette505 lol aww shucks, it's just sub q right now, tiny needles, easy to reach... we'll see what happens when PIO time comes! :#
@allycheer00 @dragonette505 BusinessWife
ladies i truly appreciate the concern and I'm going to go see my RE she wasn't in today and tomorrow I just can't get away from work which pisses me off but I will try and make it through till wed.
