Re: Symptoms - Week of August 7

  • My morning sickness is the worst in the evening, 6pm to sleep time. I feel so guilty sitting out bath and story time with my 21 month old but I have to run to the bathroom every 20 minutes when I try! I'm a working mom so that's really my only bonding time during the week

  • My husband now knows when I say "let's watch this in bed" it's a lie and I'm going to sleep.
also.  Wtf happened to my nipples last week?  Like... I knew they would get bigger, but I thought I still had time.  Rip nice boobies.  It's National Geographic from here on.
  • Dude.  Fuck summer colds.  That's the worst.
  • I caved and after 2 weeks of suffering from extreme nausea, am on diclectin...it was too difficult to work full time and care for a toddler while feeling like garbage all day every day...I was starting to feel depressed because of how crummy I was feeling so got the prescription...(I'm just taking half doses for now) It helped sooo much...still nauseaous and uncomfortable but can smile and function. Today is a bad day, might have to up my dose, but for those of you suffering and feeling depressed and eating like crap which gets you feeling more depressed, this has really helped me overall!
  • These past 2 days I haven't really had any symptoms... I'm 8w3d so it makes me a little nervous. Anyone else experiencing this? I've had no cramping or bleeding at all and had an ultrasound last Friday and heard and saw a healthy heartbeat of 161. I'm trying to stay positive and not stress about it because I don't have another appointment until 8/30..
  • @babydale2018  I am right there with you.  With my DS, I didn't have any MS, just some slightly sore boobs and lots of exhaustion.  But with this one, I had like 2-3 weeks of nausea early, VERY sore boobs and some exhaustion up until around 9 weeks, then...NOTHING!  I barely have sore boobs now.  Makes me nervous but just keep thinking that I cannot control anything and whatever it is, it is.  I am just hoping for the best and trying to enjoy the time that I am having this summer!

@day38.  Thanks!  Yes, that was my experience with my DS years ago.  I am not sure why I expected to just feel sick this time.  I guess it is just a weird feeling to feel pretty good!
  • My symptoms are heart burn (though it's lessened), very sore boobs, peeing all the time, nausea in the am but it goes away when I eat something, and I'm sensitive to certain smells (my dogs are my first two babies but O M G their breath is repulsive to me rn.) Ohhh and I want to eat all the food until it's time and I just nibble.
  • Oh and I'm also exhausted. Thank God I work in a school and am still off!
  • Thanks @LiveNLove44 and @bklyninri for making me feel better! I'm just trying to enjoy all of this time but the lack of symptoms has been on my mind! Maybe I should be embracing them instead!

Today I woke up with nausea and sore boobs again, so at least my brain can rest for the day! As a FTM this is all new to me!
  • @babydale2018 my symptoms have legit done a weird turn this week. Tomorrow I'm 10 weeks. And what was nausea and sore boobs has turned into an insufferable stuffy nose and exhaustion along the lines of flu symptoms. My entire body aches. But I still worry because my nausea has shifted and is only late at night. I try to remember it's all part of it. Maybe once we all have our 12 week everyone will be calmer. I'm a FTM too and PgAL so trust me I have to pull myself out of my brain and just be happy about being pregnant.

can I just be 12 weeks now so I can scream it tho? Anyone else DYING to share openly without fear???
  • Yesterday I tried the extra B6 vitamin combined with Unisom before bed and this is the first morning in weeks I haven't felt like total garbage (I am extra sleepy, but I consider that a fair trade off for getting sick at work again!).
  • I've been taking 25 mg of B6 3x a day and 1 tab of Unisom before bed. Day 2 of only taking 1/2 a Unisom.. definitely feeling less sluggish which is nice, but now I'm not sleeping as good.  :/ Ah well... Might as well get used to it.
  • How do I know if I have a cold or if it's just normal swelling of the sinuses in pregnancy?? I'm DYING. I'm running and stuffy and just miserable! I'm 10w

Good question. I have the same thing, but I have been blaming it on allergies. It tends to kick up right at bedtime. Ugh.
  • @maureenbioni I've been getting stuffy, especially at night like @HappyMonkey817, which sucks because I can't sleep with my mouth open. Using an extra pillow to elevate my head and a humidifier has helped a little, but in terms of distinguishing it from a cold I have no idea.
  • Sooo..those of y'all that are taking the Unisom+B6 combo for nausea, which kind are you taking? And how much? Pictures are a plus!
  • Cramping at 10w?? Something to worry about? Or growing pains? It's right under my pelvic bone like if my period was getting ready to start.
  • Note: Throwing up quinoa is HORRIBLE
  • @kforbes14 totally normal  :)

    @justkeeptrying that sounds AWFUL.
  • @lgutu28 I just took a Walgreens brand Unisom and Nature Made B6 I believe.

@kforbes14 I hope it's ok. I'm on and off cramps (mornings or after walking a lot) at 12 weeks.  :/
  • @vflux33, it really was!!!! And I hate when I crave something for dinner (yum Freshii) and then I throw it up!!! Ugh!! Make up your mind baby!!!!!
  • So tired but can't sleep. Why u do this to me body?? Been awake for 2 hours since 1:45am. Sigh.
  • @isntthatspeshul me too!! Awake for the past two hours. WHY!? When will we sleep again?!
  • So I'm either horribly sick with a cold or I'm nuts. I can't breathe my sinuses are packed shut so swollen and congested. Now I'm horrendously nauseous from the post nasal. Been up since 3am now it's 5. The only thing I'm ok with taking is benadryl. Which basically sedates me. And even then I won't take more than one a day.

im so uncomfortable I just keep crying. I feel awful.
  • @maureenbioni I recommend using original Afrin. Call your doctor and chat with a nurse, or send a message if you can do that, and double check with them to be sure. Follow the directions, and just use it the recommended amount. It opens up your sinuses and clears the way so you can breathe and get some decent sleep. With each of my pregnancies, it has helped me immensely through colds. Feel better!!

  • @SoFlaMommie1128 sigh. I haven't slept for 2 and a half years plus (terrible toddler sleeper) so I don't see it happening for me anytime soon, especially with a newborn coming. But...someday. And for you, probably soon when you're into second trimester if you're not already.
  • I feel like a 12 year old boy playing with a calculator, because all I can think about is BOOBIES! I've had small 34 B cup breasts my whole life. They've grown to 34d but the big thing is how sore and warm they are. It's overwhelming. I feel like I've been punched in my chest over and over.
Other than that, it's been peeing, DIZZINESS like crazy, queasy when my tummy is empty, and craving mostly boring vegetarian food.
  • I take vitamin B6 and it really helps the nausea. My morning sickness has been pretty mild and doc says that's why.
  • I did have a brutal headache yesterday. I had traveled to Denver for work and the altitude sickness was terrible. I finally caved and took Tylenol.
  • Note: Throwing up quinoa is HORRIBLE
Girl. That does sound bad :-( ugh, sorry!!

  • The exhaustion has officially set in. Yesterday morning I woke up feeling like I hadn't slept all night. This morning I feel like I just took a sleeping pill. I haven't felt this tired in a loooooong time.

That's exactly how I've been feeling. It's the worst to feel like no amount of sleep helps.
  • @LiveNLove44 I broke down and used it. I hate myself for it because I get horrible rebound congestion but I hadn't slept all night and did it in the shower and slept for four hours after. My husband and I joke that that stuff is like crack. I have a deviated septum so when I get sick my left side of my sinuses becomes like a ten pound weight because nothing can drain from swelling. So the afrin is like gods crack lol. It finally allowed me to sleep.

I think getring sleep was super important. I'm so weak and can't stop coughing. What I'm gonna do now is try to not use it again until tomorrow and I have a system where I start watering it down to wean off it. People probably think I'm crazy but if you've ever gotten hooked on those nasal decongestant sprays before you understand!

if this cold continues Monday I have to go to my primary. I'm worried it's going to my chest since the cough is worsening.

anyone else get sick while pregnant? Is this normal? I've NEVER gotten a cold in August!
  • I need to know....how are you managing the hemorrhoids. They have returned.
  • So after reading some of these I can count myself among the lucky few. The only thing going on with me is waking up to pee at 3AM and maybe a little extra tired but I worked 60 hours this week so I would be tired anyways. 7 weeks today

  • @isntthatspeshul I have them AND a rectal fissure. I have to take 300mg of colace a day. My doctor approved it but it still kills me I didn't want to take anything. But if I don't I could really damage the area and need surgery or cause infection.

I also only wipe with baby wipes no TP on my bum. It helps with irritation and rubbing makes them worse. Sometimes like once a week I take milk of magnesia to smooth the passage if it's been a particularly rough few days. And I drink more than a gallon of water a day and eat grapes nonstop throughout the day.

you can also try Tucks pads!
  • @jeb0927 I have constant nausea, but the times I've thrown up are from exactly this. It's horrible to dread brushing your teeth.

Sitz bath with Epsom salt. Witch hazel pads (Tucks - store brand is cheaper and the same thing). Eat fiber, drink water, and take stool softeners, because the last thing on Earth you want is to get constipated. Trust me. I'm really sorry you're suffering. :(
