For those taking Diclectin for nausea, what is your prescription? My tablets are 10mg. My OB said to take 2 at night, 1 in am and 1 in early afternoon. With the option of increasing the 2 daytime doses to 2 pills each if needed.
I've been doing the minimum but wondering if I should increase. I'm still nauseous all day, evenings are the worst, and throwing up at least once a day.
Gonna post this in the questions thread too because I don't know where I should put it.
@isntthatspeshul oh yeah, I totally get it. My 20 month old just started sleeping through the night earlier this year. There were a few months of sleep but agree not so much with a newborn! At least sleep gets better in the second trimester!
@LiveNLove44 I broke down and used it. I hate myself for it because I get horrible rebound congestion but I hadn't slept all night and did it in the shower and slept for four hours after. My husband and I joke that that stuff is like crack. I have a deviated septum so when I get sick my left side of my sinuses becomes like a ten pound weight because nothing can drain from swelling. So the afrin is like gods crack lol. It finally allowed me to sleep.
I think getring sleep was super important. I'm so weak and can't stop coughing. What I'm gonna do now is try to not use it again until tomorrow and I have a system where I start watering it down to wean off it. People probably think I'm crazy but if you've ever gotten hooked on those nasal decongestant sprays before you understand!
if this cold continues Monday I have to go to my primary. I'm worried it's going to my chest since the cough is worsening.
anyone else get sick while pregnant? Is this normal? I've NEVER gotten a cold in August!

@justkeeptrying I'm on the exact same regimen and am considering upping the morning dose as I am also pretty nauseous in the evenings. I'm not throwing up though and that's been my major reason to hold back. if you are still being sick it may not hurt to try. if you find you get too tired - you could always go back to your current schedule
When did the nauseous die down for you ladies? I'm 9 weeks and I feel like I wasn't as nauseous this morning still have other symptoms but it worried me a little bit.
@becausescience. Lol thanks! I probably knew that since I just did my OB rotation but I've been so sick I just wail and cry and want to know why especially in August!! Lol summer colds suck.
@jerseygirl9090 I'm 10w2d and I feel my nausea has definitely calmed down. It's still there when I get hungry but it's not overwhelming. I don't know if my stomach will ever go back to normal. I can't eat anything larger than one small serving of anything. But don't panic I was convinced my symptoms were gone and saw a healthy hb. And the way my belly is sticking out a little (muffin top as the internet liked to call this time) is making me think omg this might be happening lol.
@maureenbioni I'm so sorry, that must be rough. I dealt with this the first time around so I knew it would be an issue again, I just didn't expect it so soon because I've been trying to avoid sitting on the toilet too long or pushing too hard. I was taking colace but the nausea has prevented me from doing that, it bothers my stomach. I know I'm destined for surgery in the future...I had such bad ones after labor that my recovery was very difficult and I'm really just trying to avoid that this time. I take a fiber supplement and I use a squatty potty. I do have to make it a point to drink much more. I just bought grapes at the store yesterday so I'll keep eating those. Thanks!

I'm not nauseous this time around, but with my boys the morning sickness started at 6 weeks and improved every 3 weeks. So at 9 weeks a little better, 12 weeks, and by 15 weeks my stomach was just "off" on occasion until it was completely gone by 18 weeks.

@bb3vj3n, thanks! I think I might increase my afternoon dose. I'm able to squeeze in an afternoon nap most days when DS naps. But yes. This exhausting is killer!!! Hope DH doesn't mind me going to bed even earlier than I already am. Last nights 8:30 bedtime was amazing!
@MrsBalletStar05 Yeah I'm thinking my morning sickness is starting to die down the placenta starts taking over production of HCG in week 9 so maybe that's why. I def still have it just not as bad.
@jerseygirl9090 I'm a bit worried too, horribly sick from 6weeks to 10 weeks and 10 weeks 1 day is all gone! So weird to just wake up 1 day without it. I've felt fine for 3 days now. I'm hoping I'm just lucky but obviously worried bc I had a loss in April so I'm just a bit over sensitive about it!
I missed work again today. I went in and tried and only lasted two hours. My head is so stuffed and I'm so congested my eyes were watering so bad it looked like I was crying. I can't believe I hve a cold while I'm pregnant. If I could drug myself up I could have worked but I can't I'll only take Benadryl. I'm just too nervous. I won't even use cough drops. I know I sound nuts but after a loss it's hard to risk anything. I even run away from microwaves while they're on!
im covered in Vicks right now in bed watching old syfy shows. I just want to wake up and feel better! Sorry to whine. I don't do well not being able to be productive!

7 1/2 weeks...How have I gained 9 lbs?! I'm not eating unhealthy. I'm eating snacks or small meals every couple hours instead of large meals due to the nausea. I'm not as active due to the nausea, but I can't believe it's 9lbs! Zofran has been helping take the edge off during times of the day, so I can get some things done and play with my girls.

@mamaejb you'd be amazed at how much water retention plays a factor in that. I've found that some of that levels out once the placenta takes over, too.
@LiveNLove44 I gained 50 with my first and 40ish with my second. I don't want to gain that much again. I'm hoping once the nausea is over in 2nd trimester, I will be able to exercise a bit more.
@mamaejb I understand that frustration and then hope for this pregnancy. It sounds like you must have changed something in your second pregnancy that made a difference! Maybe it would help to use a tracker to see what you're consuming each day? I know my friends who have dealt with GD or those whose doctors advised them not to gain or to gain very little had great success with intake trackers like Nutrition Data or My Fitness Pal. Sometimes little tweaks to the daily intake can make a big difference overall. TBH, I have a hard time tracking during pregnancy because I find I get overly obsessed over the numbers, but that's due to prior issues not related to pregnancy. Do what works best for you, but I hope that no matter what, you feel good in that skin you're in!
I'm very concerned with what I'm gaining or will gain and my doctor said don't change anything you're eating and you won't gain. Being pregnant doesn't make you gain fat unless you consume too many calories. I know when I'm overdoing it and try to limit my really bad days to once a week.
7 weeks 4 days here and I made the mistake of bragging yesterday that I've had zero symptoms. Rookie mistake. Omg the morning sickness today (all day). So bad. Zero energy, and I have 2 kids at home. I really hope this is gone by 2nd tri so I can enjoy our family vacation.
I wanna shout from the rooftops I feel great again! No nausea or aversions right now. I'm 10+4 and haven't felt this great since I was earlier than 4 weeks! I hope it lasts because I was so over the morning sickness
So that was short lived. I still have evening sickness. Morning and early afternoon is good. Evenings, not so much
Aaahh!! Boo :-( I'm at my best in the mornings too. No out and out nausea, but picky/icky tummy. I bet it IS going to start getting better for you though and you'll have bouts of good tummy and for longer and longer periods

Allergies are kicking my ass. When I was pregnant with my daughter, allergies completely went away. Not one sniffle. I was really looking forward to that, but no such luck this time.
@isntthatspeshul I'm trying to stay really hydrated to prevent constipation and that seems to be helping on days that I don't puke up all the water I drink. I have Colace as well if I get desperate. I got awful hemorrhoids after delivering my son and I'm hoping they don't get as bad this time.
My allergies are really bad right now as well and usually this time of year I'm fine. I'm guessing that part of it is just normal sinus swelling from pregnancy, but I'm so tired of waking up overnight with a burning throat and runny nose.
@HappyMonkey817 isn't it strange how these things change? I have SUPER BAD allergies and basically live on antihistamines when I'm not KU. my allergies have actually been super mild all summer..... it's one of the only good symptoms I've experienced this far.
