Re: Symptoms - Week of August 7

  • @babybluu what does your doctor say?? That sounds miserable, I'm so sorry. I'm on the all-day sickness train too but not as bad as you it sounds. I hope you find something that helps.

Some people swear by the nausea tea on Amazon, and I also found that citrus hard candies help me get through my hour and a half train rides to and from work.
I tried the nausea tea (actually just finished 24oz of it) and it doesn't really help, but it didn't hurt either. Just slightly expensive, fairly tasty, non-caffeinated tea, imo. The Amazon reviews have it seeming like a miracle product though, so may be worth trying in case I'm an outlier.

I've also gotten sick after eating crackers and ginger ale enough times that THOSE gross me out now too. Trying not to feel discouraged or crazy right now.

  • Anyone else with a lack of symptoms?  I am 9 weeks, 3 days today and although I didn't have more than 2 weeks of feeling nauseous (probably due to the first set of prenatals I was on) was tired and sore boobs.  I am a little tired and the boobs hurt from time to time but otherwise that is it!  Making me nervous!

Apparently I have added sleeping straight through my alarms to my list. I woke up half an hour later than I intended to this morning. :/
Get either the Pillow app or the sleep cycle app. With my first this was a huge problem and got worse after he was born. These apps monitor your sleep cycle and slowly wake you up during the lightest sleep phase in the time frame you choose
  • I've just been dealing with a dull, nagging nausea all throughout the day for weeks now. I'm also very tired and periodically have a horrible metallic taste in my mouth that nothing will help. Sore boobs come and go. I don't know how most of you ladies do it handling worse MS and still functioning, especially caring for little ones. You all are my heroes!

@bklyninri I am in the same boat. I'm 9w1d. Very little symptoms since day 1. I had a few bouts of nausea over the past 2 weeks but not much else. I'm always comforted to see others in the same boat. I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks and everything was good, next one isn't until the end of the month.

3rd night in a row of very poor sleep last night and I feel like all my symptoms are 100x worse, especially the nausea, and I pretty much cannot function.
Poor sleep makes my nausea sooo much worse too. Are you comfortable taking something to help you sleep? That's helped me a ton.
  • I am 6 weeks 6 days. Had first ultrasound today and heard heartbeat yay.... I am sitting at work drinking Pink Stork tea, hoping for nausea relief. I was not at all nauseous with my first. I am queasy all day with this one. I also have a bionic nose and am extremely sensitive to smells. Been having bizarre dreams. I am still nursing my 13 month old and have had a decrease in milk supply, which he is not happy about. Oooo and acne breakout.
  • @Kristi4938 If this gets worse and I can't blame on it on being woken up by something I will definitely consider that, but this week at least 80% of my problem has been that MH is sick and coughing all night...  :/
  • @crossfitbabybump Yes. It's bad.

@chasingroygbiv I'm going to the chiro tonight but I know it's when I sleep and wake up that it's worse! Not even an adjustment helps lately :(
  • I just sleep forever!  I go to bed at 10, DH gets up with DS at 6:30 or 7:00, and then I go back to sleep until 8. Then I take a long (> 1/2 hour) nap every afternoon, and am exhausted by dinner time.  I keep getting worried because I think I feel so much better than I did with DS when I had all these really bad food aversions, but I'm still sleeping all the time so I definitely don't feel normal.
  • The SPD begins I think... at only 10 weeks. No pain yet but my pelvis was popping this morning while I was laying on my side in bed. It's not doing it now, thankfully, so we will see.
  • @babybluu I am right there with you. I have tried everything as well. The nausea will just not stop. On top of that, when I manage to eat, I then have a killer stomach ache and have to RUN to the bathroom 20 minutes later. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

Ugh I'm so sorry :( this is such a rough time. I'm hoping we all find relief really soon!
  • I'm so bloated and already showing at 7 weeks. There's no hiding this any longer. Brought out the maternity pants today.

  • This sense of smell thing is destroying my stomach. Hubby had just scored huge bonus points by bringing me a piece of cheesecake, but then he followed up with making some sort of onion soup. Awful. So awful. I sat out on the porch watching it rain for 2 hours while he tried his best to air the house out. I can still smell it so I keep smelling my pack of peppermint gum. Ughhhhhh. Never. Again. DH.
  • @JBcakes08 same here!!!  Saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks, 3 days and feel like I have been waiting forever!!!  Next appt is 8/24!
  • @Abfisher La Leche League says it's common to have a dip but that supply will come back within a few weeks.

I'm happy to report that was the case for me! I'm 11 weeks and nursing has actually been a major source of relief for some of my symptoms.
  • @bklyninri I had my ultrasound at 7w1d and my next is on the 25th! I agree, the wait in between has felt long. I was so relieved after the first appointment and now I'm freaking out again lol. I thought about buying a home fetal doppler but decided I'm too crazy and if I couldn't find the heartbeat I'd have a mental breakdown.

  • I am the same way!  2 weeks from today!!!!!  Ugh...can I make it?!? LOL!
  • 8w2d and my nausea is worse than it's ever been. Even with my previous 2 pregnancies. I thought I was in the clear. Ugh I feel terrible. Halfway through breakfast ran to the bathroom and puked :(
  • Can't sleep. The tiniest things make me wake up and then I stay awake for like 2 hours before I can fall back asleep. It sucks because everyone else has been sleeping well!! Then once I fall back asleep, the kids wake up an hour or so later, I get them set up with breakfast and electronics (no judgement!!) and I pass back out for another hour or two. I'm so thankful my boys are older and being really understanding.

  • Oh, and glad to have gotten back to work this week. I'm only doing about 12 hours this school year, but it forces me to be active for a bit and takes my mind off things and I've felt decent the past few days.

  • 8w3d and feeling pretty much the same as last week. Headaches, bloat, food adversions (no morning sickness though), craving lots of sweets. I have a 23 month old who still nurses to sleep and that is really starting to hurt. Yesterday I was also very dizzy while folding clothes. I had to keep sitting down for a bit because I felt like I was going to fall.  :|
  • @jessbruxanovaa does nursing cause uterine contractions?  I know it does int he beginning but maybe not after you've been doing it for a while.
  • My bladder hates me.

    HATES ME.

  • I've been taking Diclectin the last couple of days and it's definitely helping my nausea/vomiting. Still nauseous but it's taken the edge off. Unfortunately it's left me sooooo sluggish. I have no energy. And feeling like the worst mom ever because I just want to lay around and DS is screaming "Play Outside!!!!!"

Oh that's the worst, I'm sorry to hear that and hope last night was better for you!!

I finally slept a bit better last night despite being woken up by MH's coughing several times. I don't feel fantastic today but definitely less bad.
Just saw this - glad it was better!
  • Today I feel AWFUL. I had a day like this a few weeks ago. A few of them actually. My BP is super low. I feel so weak and tired I can barely function. I'm super warm and my throats is so itchy. And sometimes when I'm standing still my heart skips around. I'm getting scared but whenever I call um OB they say it's normal and lay down. I have a full time job can't really do that.
  • My heart palpitations are out of control and keep me up at night. I also suffer from a thyroid autoimmune disease that causes them and since I've been moving back into a hyperthyroid state the palpitations have gotten worse. I'll see both my OB and my endocrinologist next week so I'll probably bring it up. I just don't know what can actually be done about them.
  • I just had to stop making dinner and go lie down. I thought I was going to pass out. :(

That sounds rough. I'm sorry. I hope you can find some relief.
  • I've been nauseous since like week 5. It's super intensified by motion, so when we had our trip to Anchorage, threw up every day (even at the grocery store). Glad to be home where I can just walk places. Much less vomiting.
