I had a surprise appointment today when my hospital called asking me to come in for an early ultrasound. I was shocked and super scared as my OB never mentioned this to me.
BUT all is good! Baby measured exactly on track at 7+2 with a strong heartbeat.
Things are done so differently here. So no picture was given to me. Poor DH didn't even get to see it and I only got to see the picture for a few seconds. But most importantly is baby is there, where it's supposed to be, and growing on track with a beating heart. My PGAL brain is at peace today.
Had my first ultrasound on Monday. Since my last pregnancy ended unexpectedly, I was pretty nervous when it came down to check on the little nugget. To make matters worse, my doctor was making a very intense face during the exam. Turns out she was just having a problem finding the nugget because my uterus was retroverted. Everything was just fine, and the baby measured right on target at 7w+1. My due date holds steady at March 25th!
I had my first sonogram yesterday at eight weeks. Everything looks great. Emergency C section the first go around and will have a scheduled C section at 39 weeks. Also, I was given the option to take a panorama blood screening test. I am 33 years old and opting to take it to ensure all is well. Plus, I'll find out the sex of the baby in a couple weeks... Lastly, because we conceived in miami, my husband and I will need to test for the Zika virus ...
So happy to be joining this thread! Pic from my first ultrasound today! I'm 8 weeks, 6 days from last AF but Baby was measuring 9 weeks, 2 days so my due date was adjusted to March 13. HB was 175. Everything looks good!
I am so happy, I still have tears in my eyes. I saw my little squirmy bean with a strong heartbeat of 160. It is measuring on track @ 7 weeks 4 days. ❤️

Hey everyone! We got to see our baby today for the first time...such a surreal moment to see that little baby all curled up in there and was so thankful to see the little heart beating away. Measuring 7 weeks and 3 days. Heartbeat is good at 157. Asked me to come in again next week to get another ultrasound at 8 weeks. My estimated due date is now March 27th. So thankful getting over the first hurdle of getting to see baby.
I am so so excited to be able to finally post on this board. Had my first US this morning. By my calculations we should be 9w3d and baby measured spot on at 9w2d. Heart beat was either 165 or 156....I was too emotional to remember. I got to hear the heart also which is a major milestone for me as I've never experienced this as *TW* My previous PGs were MMC*. DH cried the whole way home...
Well I finally feel safe to participate. I had an ultrasound yesterday. HR of 158. This is in 3D so it looks a little different. I thought I was 7 1/2 weeks but I'm 8 weeks yesterday. I have a video with the feet moving from yesterday but it won't let me upload it.
Just following up from the other day. Went in today and the little bean totally caught up. Doubled in size in just five days and had a heartbeat of 130 and measuring at exactly 7 weeks. Couldn't be more excited!
Had an ultrasound on Thursday. I was 9w3d at the time and baby measured 8w2d. Never had experienced this and it kind of freaked me out at first. The nurse said they wouldn't be changing my due date. But other than that baby looked healthy and heart rate was around 170s.

Hello ladies. I'm 8 weeks today and I will be going in for my first ultra sound. I'm just wondering if anyone can let me know what to expect. I also want to think of some questions I can ask the ob since this is my first pregnancy. Any tips? Thanks
Most recent Knottie - It will be a transvaginal ultrasound so be prepared to drop your drawers. You may have also heard that they want a full bladder for ultrasounds. You do not want one for this one. Go before you go in there.
Be prepared with your last menstrual period date, ovulation date (especially if it isn't the CD 14 they use as standard) and medications you're taking.
Typically they'll have a standard packet of info they'll give you which should cover how to get in touch with them for general questions and in case of emergency. That's the most important thing. The rest, you can mostly learn by reading here/the internet in general or ask your OB as they come up.
If you plan to stick around, please go change your username on theknot.com so we can recognize it and tag you in conversations.
