Re: Symptoms - Week of August 7

  • I've had a headache for days no with little to no relief! And the fatigue has been a downhill battle on my part, I've just been going to bed around 8 o'clock every night because I can't keep my eyes open, but then I'm awake at 5am! My boobs don't hurt as much as they did in the past weeks and I never actually got any morning sickness, just some nausea here and there! I'm hoping it stays that way!

  • Today is the first day that I've had a headache. It's a perfect companion to the exhaustion and nausea! I've also been struggling with a little insomnia. I think it's nerves but who knows.
  • Oh god the nausea. Really started last week and I am only 6+2. I don't want any food and have been a bit shaky and dizzy today.

  • Serious palpitations today. It's very unnerving.
  • @HappyMonkey817 Have you mentioned palpitations to your dr? I know they can be a common symptom but maybe you will feel better once you mention it to a medical professional.

It's bad enough that I'm about ready to call.
  • Nausea pretty much all the time. Then I get this small break and I'm starving!! But I need the right food right that minute and I can never figure out what the right food is. Cramps, which isn't helped by my 3 and 5 year olds, who use my stomach to push themselves up with their elbows. Their elbows also find my poor tender boobs. I'm so sick of peanut butter crackers and almonds...
  • @justkeeptrying stop it. Now I want delivery pizza and cheesy bread. :yum:
  • I'm sooo glad I'm not alone on the cooking thing And YES @StephBrim24 the elbows, oh lordy. My youngest does that too or hits my sore boobages. Ow! I know he's just trying to cuddle. He's so freaking huge though. Insisted on joining me on the recliner, I'm like oooh boy, we barely fit. Then he adjusts and I get beat up. Blah.

  • Also, I thought peeing was supposed to ease up the closer you got to second tri? I think I'm going MORE if that's possible?

@chasingroygbiv I just had my first two nights in a row of not waking up to pee in the middle of the night--there's hope!! I hope it eases up for you soon!

  • @chasingroygbiv I third the peeing. I've been up every night every half an hour to pee and it's definitely worse!
  • @isntthatspeshul I am on diclectin and it has helped so so much. from what my doctor told me - Zofran is used to stop or slow down down excessive vomiting  (it was first created to help chemo patients) in order to avoid dehydration and help keep your stomach contents down. Diclectin is more for nausea... it's a category A and had been proven very safe during pregnancy. it's basically a combination of B6 vitamin and antihistamine. I'm currently taking 4 day - 2 at night, 1 in the morning and 1 at lunch. Doc says I could safely double to daytime doses if needed but I find it has been enough for me.
if it helps you - its worth a try

You ladies with headaches have you tried uping your water intake? And maybe having some coffee? Those remedies both work for me usually and i noticed whenever I have a headache I'm super thirsty too so I've been drinking a gallon of water and day or trying to and it's been working but now I have to pee every five seconds lol  :(

  • we've had a very stressful 24hrs in our house with our dog (and now a huge vet bill). After being up all night everyone is now home and resting. Except me.

this is the first time since starting diclectin that my nausea has been so debilitating. I think the adrenaline from the stress of the day is starting to wear off and it is making me super sick to my stomach. I can feel the *tmi* vomit in my throat as I lay here trying to keep it down. Doesn't help that I have a headache now also. this is terrible...
  • I'm naeseaus all day and night so I just keep eating trying to find something that makes me feel better and now I'm basically 600 pounds.
  • @bb3vj3n I'm sorry about the vet stress and that you're feeling ill. Is your dog okay?
  • I am so damn bloated. Like so. Bloated. I look like I did at 16 weeks with my first pregnancy.
  • @bb3vj3n I'm sorry! I hope you get some rest soon.
  • @jerseygirl9090 I drink more than 100 oz of water a day and the thought of coffee makes me want to get sick ((which makes me cry because I love coffee)), but I've also tried drinking anything with caffeine in it and nope. Nothing helps but an ice pack to dull the pain. Le sigh. I'm going to try peppermint oil next.
  • @bb3vj3n oh nooo! I hope you feel better. Is your dog okay?
  • I was doing really well until this week. I am lacking energy, losing my breath easily, and craving meat. If I don't eat meat, I feel ill. This is incredibly bizarre because with my boys, the smell or taste of meat caused a gag reflex. I'm wondering if my iron is low already...

@EricaD777 are you losing your breath REALLY easily? Like just walking around the house? If so, and if that persists and/or you have chest pain/palpitations, you might want to get checked out at the hospital! Not trying to be alarmist, but there's a higher risk of PE in pregnancy. Hope you're feeling better!
  • 9 weeks today and for the last 4 days I feel nauseated all day long despite eating, not eating, drinking water, sprite. Nothing helps and it's awful! Oh and apparently my mom can tell I'm pregnant by looking at my face. She said it's chubby. Thanks ma.

Also so I have such excruciating back pain, which I feel isn't normal but it could just be non pregnancy related but I plan on asking at my check up tomorrow and I get a US tomorrow too.

  • Here's a good one. It happened with my daughter, too, but I was really hoping it wouldn't appear again. Extreme gagging to the point of vomiting while brushing my teeth. Totally defeats the purpose and really sucks because I need to brush my teeth (and tongue!) to get the awful pregnancy taste out of it. *sigh*

Sorry I couldn't answer sooner- I couldn't stand to look at the back light of my phone.

he's on heavy painkillers right now and seems to be doing okay.  he needs a good week or so of rest.  they did officially diagnose him with hip dysplasia though.... so we at going to need to make some decisions in the near future regarding surgery for him.

I was just up all night with him and back and forth from the vet all day that I didn't really eat / drink and fell into a bit of a cycle because I felt so sick I couldn't really eat/ drink even though I knew I needed to. A good solid sleep seems to have helped some and so far I'm feeling a bit better

@bb3vj3n I'm most concerned about the sleepiness side effect. I'm already drained, my toddler still gets up 3-4 times per night and I'm afraid I'm not going to wake up for her. How is the sleepiness for you? the directions were to take 2 at night and that was it.

@isntthatspeshul I haven't actually found that it makes me tired at all.  the nausea was exhausting so to have that veil lifted slightly really helped my energy levels during the daytime hours.

At night - I don't take them until I'm ready for bed. I'm usually pretty tired after a long work day so I wouldn't attribute my sleepiness to the diclectin. I will say I sleep very comfortably and quite soundly on it but I am LOVING that. I wake up feeling pretty darn good and rested

eta - I don't think you would sleep through hearing your LO. I still wake up to pee like 2 or 3 times a night and don't feel out of it when I do
  • @bb3vj3n aww I'm so sorry about your dog. I hope you guys figure out the best decisions to deal with that and I'm glad you are feeling a bit better today. Hugs. That sounds like an awful Monday.

@isntthatspeshul Unisom has the same antihistamine in it as Benadryl. So however you react to Benadryl is how you would react to the Unisom, most likely. Also the longer you take it, the less the drowsy seems to affect most people. I used that combo with my pregnancy with DS and I know it makes me very groggy. But then so does Benadryl.
  • I was wrong about second tri bliss starting early. Thankful that I had a few days reprieve before nausea/vomiting started back full force yesterday. Hoping it doesn't get as bad as it was before.

@mylovelittlelove I am towards the end of 10w and my nausea is worse than ever. I feel like this is torture... Almost started to cry while walking the dog. It's tolerable, but its NONSTOP and I can't do it anymore. I thought that this is when it's supposed to wind down.
  • @sarabeth5678

I'm so sorry.... I don't know why it has to be so hard.  I feel exactly the same way... though I'm only 9w tomorrow.

    we will get through this!
  • @HappyMonkey817are you feeling any better? Did you call your doctor? <3
I didn't call yet. My toddler has been having a rough time today. Thank you for asking.
  • @bb3vj3n It really helps to know that we are all going through it :) I'm the first of my friends to have a baby and misery needs company!

I also have my ultrasound pictures up to remind me that I love this little bean and really am so excited.
