Lol I'm so used to Canadians on boards being all oh you poor Americans re health care. Im horrified bun this, and I think it shows the flip side of the coin of govt run healthcare. And why, with all the issues we do have, I prefer not to have that system.
And no, it for sure is not free. Nothing in this world is, and certainly not health care. You just pay out the nose on taxes which fund it all. Which is one thing I'd pitch a fit over - you pay for these scans with your own tax dollars, and it is your own personal health information, why on earth does some tech or dr have a right to information on your own body, abd what right does the government have in deciding that??? Omg I'd Be fuming. But I'm sure the culture there is different and I know that is a big reason why it works. I don't think it would fly here.
@minyeta what a great shot! My OB was so sweet and said that, since she couldn't get a really good shot, I could come back this week for a 15- min appt to just get a better pic! Hoping for one that looks more like that
I would be so angry if I didn't get to see my own ultrasound. Even when I had some done on other organs (not pregnancy related) I was allowed to look.
As far as the tech not being allowed to say anything, I actually think that's a good idea. During my last pregnancy I had intense chest pressure and already have a heart problem, so the cardiologist had me get an ultrasound of my heart. The tech said everything was perfectly fine and it was just the baby pushing up. I get a call a few days later from the doctor and I had extra fluid around it and needed to be monitored. I'm not sure if the tech just had no idea what she was looking at or if she lied to me to make me feel better, but either way she was completely wrong. It upset me that she would say everything is perfectly fine when it wasn't.
We finally had some confirmation today at a dating u/s! Our baby #3 was nestled down and made it tricky for a good picture, but we got to see legs and an arm wiggle, which was way cooler than the little beans we saw with our first two. Heart rate of 167 and my EDD is exactly as I expected, 3/6/18 (so I'll be 9w tomorrow). I have exceptionally irregular and long cycles, so my LMP has never been right by a long shot. Each time I try to tell them I know my EDD, and each time they insist on the dating u/s. I can't complain about an extra glimpse! And there's something to be said for feeling "right"...right?
Today I am 10 weeks and I had my first ultrasound 2 weeks ago. I had an appointment today and my doctor had trouble finding the heartbeat with the Doppler so she sent me in for an ultrasound to make sure everything was okay. Everything was good and baby is growing! Heart rate was 167.

10/2014 - Bloodwork normal, HSG all clear
10/2014 - DH's SA 15mil/mL, 35% motility, 6% morphology
Had a dating ultrasound. Heartbeat was 169. I thought I was 8 weeks, but the baby measures 8 weeks 3 days. If anyone wants to try to Ramzi guess the baby's gender, be my guest!
I will be 7 weeks tomorrow and I am feeling much better about this pregnancy. I didn't want to post too early and jinx it! TW I had two previous chemicals last year through IVF end TW but it looks like this round finally stuck and I saw two strong heartbeats on Friday at 6w2. My due due date it March 21. I go in Friday for another US with my RE which I think will be my last one there.
Had my last appt with the RE today - I have officially "graduated" to my regular OB! Babies looked great, measured on track, and both had strong heartbeats. I'm a happy mama!
this was probably the worse image I saw today, lol, but like my other boys baby is measuring exactly to my dates by 8 weeks. HB 153. My perinatologist said what the sonographer saw was not a SCH, but actual venous flow and normal anatomy. I did ask him if the placenta was on the right or left side bc they said something about the SCH being on the right and he said the placenta goes all the way around and it usually doesn't pick sides until later. Which I think would disprove the effectiveness of the ramzi method. I don't know, I just thought that might be interesting info for those that have asked about it.
I had my first ultrasound today (~7 weeks along). All is well. I'm hopeful that this was my last date with the dildo cam. They found a fibroid but said it's nothing to worry about. I'm not going to bother posting a photo of the baby, because s/he just looks like a kidney bean.
@Gingham, were they able to measure the fetal poles? Go babies Gingham!
He didn't say and I didn't ask. I got distracted when he said that honestly, he was relieved that there were *only* 3 because last week he saw other "stuff" that he thought might be sacs. Just fluid.

I couldn't even imagine how distracted you were!!! I hope that fluid goes away quickly. Congrats, and FX next week for growth and heartbeats!
HAd my first ultrasound today and sobbed like a nutcase when I heard the heartbeat. We never got to hear it because of a previous loss, so I was trembling the entire time, so afraid it would happen again. But it didn't! Our rainbow baby measured 8 weeks 4 days. I was off by a few days which is definitely possible because I couldn't remember if my period was the 1st or 4th. We are excited and kind of numb because worrying can just drain you!
That's great news! Hopefully you can go home and take a nap now. We were in much the same place and once the adrenaline from the stress and then the relief wore off, I was wiped out. So glad to hear it went well.

@kiki75 I went home and passed out for two hours! I hadnt slept a wink the night before. I have to go into work which is fine. Now that I know it's okay I have to get to preparing for my final semesters of nursing school. In a strange way even though that pregnancy ended sadly, my grades have never been higher than when I was pregnant! So let someone hope that trend continues.
AGain thanks for all the support here. I hope we can all help each other through this.
ps my weight hasn't changed (I'm monitoring it closely because I'm very short so excessive wg is bad) but my pants are tighter which is really making it real!
Look who's resting!!!! Ahhhhhhhh! I'm so excited and DRAINED! PGAL brain had grabbed a hold of me last night and I was almost hyperventilating up until the moment my stone-faced gyn (love her) said "well, it's good news." Exhausting. I'm glad I took the rest of the day off.
Our Sugah Lump is measuring 7+0 today but doc said to use due date 3/24/18 for LMP which is 6+4. That's, well, weird. I'm just thanking God and I'm so tired, hungry, and excited...I can't even take a nap!

Had my first u/s . Saw sac and fetal pole but couldn't see heart beat because he said I was very early. He said due date 3/30-to 4/3. Should I worry that he didn't see heart beat ?
