So I told DH if it's a boy we can name him George after his grandfather who died when he was a baby. He was the only grandchild his grandfather met. I feel really evil saying I don't really want to name him George.
It's ok, this is a safe space. Can you move it to the middle name?

You are not stuck, you are aloud to change your mind- I told people I was naming my daughter Sabrina, I brought name plaques and everything- she was born and the name just didn't feel right so we changed it. Other people will just have to deal with it, there is no reason it can't be a middle name.
Right now I'm loving the name Emerson for a girl. It's weird because I had heard the name before and it never really stuck with me, but now after thinking about it, I really love it! DD is Avery and I think Avery and Emerson sound good together.
I really like Davis for a boy - I love last names as first names, especially for boys! DH's dad passed away suddenly last year when DD was about 8 months old and his name was Parks. I'm thinking Davis Parks for a boy but need to get DH on board with Davis.

DH threw out the name Augustus Marshall (His grandpa's first name, My dead dad's middle name). I do want to use something to honor my dad. But I don't know if Augustus is the price I want to pay.
What about August? It's our top boy name. It's a family name on my H's side.
DH hates nicknames("if i was going to call her Any then I would have named her Amy and not Amelia!") but wants to name a boy Augustus and nick âme Gus we shall see.

@TattoosandLace I love that name! My Amelia ia about to be 18 months. For the longest time we were going to name her Eloise, but then we saw her and she was just an Amelia.
Funny you mention the Amelia Earhart special, because I just read an article about it today! I'll probably check it out. DD was her for Halloween!
I took DD to the library to play and there was a little girl named "dolly." Full name dahlia. I thought it was adorable. If it wasn't so similar to DD's name, I'd consider it.

@nicole734 my dogs name was Oliver (rip) and I just l LOVE that name ( middle was Rufus).
However my teaching partner's son is Oliver and she calls him Ollie...I think the NN takes something away from the beautiful Oliver ( kinda baby-ish...but maybe that's just how she says it...hes in 4th grade.)
I've always given my dogs human names and middle names too! Good point on the NN - I really only think Ollie is cute through the toddler years, we are hoping it doesn't stick past then with family and friends.
My son is Leo James. If this LO is a boy I like Nicholas or Luca. If it's a girl, I love Isla (DH said no way), Ella, Elena or Mia. We have a super long Italian last name so I feel like we need short first names!

girl names we like: -Victoria Elisabeth -Callie June -Emily Grace -Hallie Reese
boy names: -Dean Ivo -Cassian Carl -Jack William -Declan James
We use family names for middle names, which limits us kind of, because I don't love a ton of our family names

Dahlia was on our first list with DD, love the name, it's my favourite flower! But people here who have a really thick (bogan) Aussie accent pronounce it horribly and it gets butchered! Lmao- so it's on my list but I will constantly be having to correct people if we choose it (if we are having a girl)

My hubby vetoed Isla too! (This is #3 and I've brought it up every pregnancy. Lol maybe I'll wear him down if we have a 4th)

My DH likes the names we picked out howere the hardest person to please is our 12 year old daughter Aleah she likes the name we picked out for a girl because it goes with her name but hates that its prettier. No one dislikes the boy name we picked out but my son who is 8 wants to call it ryan if its a boy lol. Arabella mae for the girl and Emmett Michael for the boy

Leo is a family name in our family--we decided to use it as DS's middle name. I would have totally used it as a first, though!
We have two girls already (Charlotte Elaine and Anna Josephine), so we are a little stuck on another girl name but are leaning towards Natalie. Maybe Natalie Helen?
Boy name will be William Carey, we've had that picked out since we were pregnant with DD1!

Vivian Elizabeth or Joseph Timothy Elizabeth is my middle name, Timothy is my husband's name. All of our kids have family middle names, so we'd like to continue that trend.
I'm pregnant with twins so we are picking 2 of each names..I'm trying to convince dh to be team green. I don't think he's gonna go for it. our twins that were stillborn are Lucas Kurt (after my brother who passed away) and Ryan James ( after dhs cousin) and our 2 year old son is Tyler Scott l my dad's and dhs grandfather's name)
for these babies for girlswe have: Audrey Jo (my mom's middle name) and Skylar Rae (dhs mom's middle name) boys: Elijah Gerald (my grandfather's name) Colton Henry ( dhs other grandfather's name)
@chawk17 I had the opposite problem. My name is so unique, no one knows how to pronounce it. I vowed not to name my kids something so weird they would have to constantly correct people.
@meatball37 This! My name is Kahlya. (Kah-lee-ah) like Kahlüa. I can't stand correcting people and sometimes it feels almost rude. DS is Robert Lawrence. Leftover from last time we have Hannah Elizabeth, and I love George as a boy name.

I just asked my dh and he vetoed isla as well. Lol!
We are Team Green and have it narrowed down to two girl names and two boy names. However, we have very different opinions on middle names!
Girl:
Emilia (Love that it has two adorable nn - Emmy and Mia)
Audrey
Boy:
Oliver (nn - Ollie)
Isaac
We seem to be on a vowel kick!
I LOVE Audrey. I think it is so beautiful and classic. Unfortunately it's been vetoed by DH .
If we have a girl we love Charlotte Mae.
I know Charlotte is overly popular right now but it was my great grandmothers name and I really like having a family connection.
We have two boy named narrowed down: 1. Sawyer David Paul 2. Dean Robert Paul
I'm sure a lot can change in 7 months though!
I have a Charlotte. She's the 6th in our family. We named her before Princess Kate, but it was already starting to become popular. After Princess Kate....everyone has a Charlotte. I don't regret it though. My aunt and Grandmother are both living and share the name with her. Ironically, they are Charlotte Mae.
