Kinda go here now. Nurse called with fertilization report. 12/13 eggs fertilized. 1-11 fertilized rt away and number 12 was a late bloomer. Tentatively scheduled for day 5 transfer this Thursday. Re will then tell us how many made it, the grade and how many will be frozen and biopsies. Another hurdle done. Now we wait

@vlagrl29. RE told me total would be $800 out of pocket if insurance didn't cover and $250 of that was medication. Our insurance has picked up a good portion so only coating us about $200 out of pocket each round.
I guess that could be an option but we have zero fertility coverage @Mack2342 and debt makes me anxious. We just don't have that cash flow right now. I was really rooting for you. Don't give up hope.
@vlagrl29. I'm trying not to give up hope. My insurance said they only covered up to a diagnosis. I've not been diagnosed with anything so I thing that is why they are covering
well that's awesome! so they have not diagnosed you with infertility then? @Mack2342 I've always assumed with my insurance that as long as anything was coded fertility which is what blue cross told me then they wouldn't pay for it. Which is why my OB coded all those fertility tests as abnormal periods.
yeah that's what we will probably talk about in August - I'm just not sure I want to go the clomid route because I heard it can thin the uterine lining. I'm not too much a fan of medical intervention which is why I"m fine with waiting a couple more months to go over it with Dr. @Mack2342
I think it's great for others that need it @Mack2342 and maybe I would be more eager for it if I didn't already have 1 kid. I'm sure I would. Part of it stems from my loss. For awhile I was blaming myself for the loss because I had an HSG and didn't know I was pregnant. Already had a period and did a pee test that morning and it was negative. The next week it was positive. I'd hate to take something that might mess up something that doesn't need fixing and then I'd hate myself even more. Plus I heard the chances aren't greater for getting pregnant if you already do ovulate. I know my anxiety would greatly increase. And what if I was pregnant when I already started taking it and it messed up an embryo that hadn't attached. I know I'm nuts but these are the things that go on in my head when I think about stuff like that. I'd rather try eastern medicine first acupuncture, herbs, etc. Maybe read that book - it starts with the egg. But I'm not doing any of that stuff for the next couple months because I need a mental break from worry.
Lurking and butting in sorry... I love Clomid talk so I can't help myself.
"Plus I heard the chances aren't greater for getting pregnant if you already do ovulate"
I took Clomid- which we all know this. But I didn't have problems ovulating. I was on Clomid to ovulate MORE because I only have 1 fallopian tube. So it's not just for people who don't ovulate
Plus @vlagrl29 you are constantly monitored by OB ( if they're good) that I don't think they would allow you to take it if possibly pregnant. But I could be wrong. I'm not an expert...just know from my experience.
I appreciate that @Chawk17 and I can see why you used it with 1 tube. We'll see where we are at in August and what we want to do starting in September. For me I don't show pregnant for 4 weeks so if I took it early in the cycle they wouldn't know. I'm a weirdo who gets the first period when pregnant. Nothing attached until a good 2 weeks later.
@vlagrl29 I had an US before I started meds and was monitored by doctor the whole time too. I'm taking it because I'm 42 and the hope is that with the meds my body will release more follicles so hopefully one will be a good egg and that's the egg that's fertilized
you're with an RE though right @Mack2342 - I'm under the impression that they monitor way more than OBs do. That would be a concern of mine. Now if my OB does all that your doctor does I would be more comfortable with that.
@vlagrl29 I'm at RE but I have friends that have done same process with regular OB they just did timed intercourse though. Other than that they received the same treatment with just as much contact with OB
@Mack2342 - well that's really reassuring. I'd be afraid to do it without monitoring. You always hear about how OBs only do the 21 day prog test with it. That's what my old OB would have done if I did clomid with her. I will have to really talk about it with my current OB for better clarification.
10 dpo here too. I've started early testing to no avail. I am really starting to wonder why I bother with the early testing. All I can think of is cheap tests are cheap and plentiful and just sitting there tempting me
Cramps and spotting. Pretty sure I'm out. And depressed and frustrated i never used to get cramps so I'm getting concerned I have scarring or something from 3 D&Es in 11 months.
