@shepersisted no, duchess was just tired of having to field requests and reject randoms. Figured regs would know where to go or who to go to when/if they're ready!
Ah yes. It's kinda like a piece of candy and the ants will march to it if you leave it open ;-). I am glad that you are working hard to keep it close nit though. Must be annoying to field every request from UNs you don't recognize.
Btw why are all you ladies up so late? Bumping like me eh? Lol. I took I nap this afternoon so am tossing around but will hate myself in the morning when DS is up at 7 am.
@ShePersisted yeahhh we're still all about that privacy haha. I'm up so late because I got to my parents house and they weren't home. They are still not home and I feel weird going to bed without saying hello. But I'm so tired
I don't envy @DuchessOfCambridge, I'm sure it is so annoying to get heaps of messages from randoms! Thanks for taking it on though, I think you're pretty perfect for the job because you know all the regulars and are very active on the board
@ShePersisted FD just woke up. I was heading to do my final pee of the night (hahahahaa I wish) when she awoke with a scream. I cannot figure out what it is. She was up so many times last night
Eta: I actually have an idea.. I think the whole transitioning thing is confusing for her.
@ShePersisted I know she doesn't have a bed at her mom's so I imagine she cosleeps there. But here she has her own bed and bedroom so I wonder if she wakes up and feels lonely and scared. Or if she's actually having nightmares because I know she has witnessed some arguing over there (and to be fair tensions are fairly high over here lately too) One time she had a night terror and that was terrifying so I'm just glad that she's not having that now.
@ooodalollly thanks. This whole thing has been way harder than I thought it would be. I'm not naive and I did think about all of the aspects before agreeing to take this on... but things that I didn't realize were factors came up and I really miss our first worker (we are on our 4th now) who I felt was on the same page as me and had her priorities right.
I'm just settling in from the shift from hell and now baby boy is having his nightly "mommy must be comfortable" dance party in my uterus. I'm so tired little man! Let me sleep!!
@passionslyfe I wouldn't be too worried about it, a lot of times they just didn't get all the measurements and pictures they need. If you're concerned call your OB/midwife ack and ask them why.
I grew up being friends with a family of 5 brothers. I even ended up "dating" one of them (never official just hanging out and hooking up in college) I haven't seen them in 3-4 years and we'll all be at a cookout together for a mutual friends birthday. All of us are married and/or parents now and I'm half excited half socially awkwardly nervous. Like, what if their wives are rude to me, I only have met one of them and she's cool, but the rest? Or what if I have nothing to talk about? Or what if it's awesome? Ahhhhhh!!!!
@DuchessOfCambridge Can you please post the cookie recipe again that you shared the other day? I'm on mobile and can't seem to find it! I reallllly want to make them tonight. Thanks!
Im new here but i have a question about my a/s. I have a repeat a/s on tuesday is that normal or should i be worried about why they called me back.
I have a repeat a/s too. My baby was just too active and they couldn't get as many measurements as they wanted. I'm sure they would call and discuss if anything was wrong. Enjoy seeing long your baby again!
@JDW0325 here you go! These are very lightly sweetened, kind of soft and doughy with a hint of sweet and chocolate. You can always add sugar if you like them sweeter!
One of my best friends just gave me bins of clothes from newborn - 9 months, blankets, snowsuits, etc. Omg, so thankful but so overwhelmed. She has 12-24 still for me. What's a nice way to tell people please no clothes at shower! Lol
Went to the party, was as awkward as I thought it would be. The other people with kids didn't show up until 2 HOURS after I got there. Then found out the only similar aged child had pink eye. Yeah, pink eye. And they brought her to a party. I washed DS's hands and left right away.
@jess0211 these are just the 6-12 month boy clothes I was given that I washed yesterday. More are on their way and I have a TON of girl stuff upstairs. I found this and will adapt it for our shower invites.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@jess0211 Some people think it's rude to say what you want and don't want. In fact, some people think registries are rude. I think these are notions that are out of step with the times and TBH, I'm not friends with people like this. LO is also Lucky #13 with 12 cousins. Hence why I have so many hand-me-downs!

@NYTino24 I agree. We've been working on some wording that is tactful for shower invites about my registries as well as asking guests to consider sending gifts directly to us since one of my showers will be 8 hrs from our house so we can't possibly transport many gifts. We'll see how it works out.
@bcashaw It's just weird because with my first two she was always thrilled and asked 100 questions. Even though I was way too young with DD1. She was always the most excited out of anyone. Ugh, I was just expecting more. But I guess it's baby #3 so who cares.
@baby3forme Yeah in general I feel people are less excited about babies after the first. My mom pretty much told me she doesn't know how to talk to or relate to my kids because they are boys. She gives them no attention and gets annoyed with them immediately. We found out this baby is also a boy. I havent called her...and she hasnt called me. I know she's disappointed and frankly I dont want to deal with her issues.
@2Dash That's so lame of her. My mom admitted that she prefers girls over boys because they're more "fun" so the fact that I'm having a girl should really excite her. Idk lol. Moms are stupid (just kidding of course ).
@jess0211 Thank you. I think (and hope) she'll come around soon.
Posting for accountability. My teacher emailed me asking why I haven't touched my schoolwork in months. Tomorrow I NEED to do at least one lesson while the baby naps.
