We are having a boy and the names are Austin, Carson, and Harrison. I love them all. It might be a game time decision for us when he's born. W aren't getting anywhere trying to pick one now.
Momma to Amelia Marie (7/14) and Austin Samuel (11/17). Adding baby (girl) #3 on 7/21
We have our girl name locked down, but having trouble with the boy name. Our absolute favorite (William, n.n. Will) is also the name of my ex, so that's out. We had agreed on Archer, but DH cooled on it, so now we're at Alex. We both like it, but aren't in love with it. At this point I'm really hoping it's a girl because I love the girl name we have picked out SO much.
We had a boy name when my daughter was born and now DH wants to go back and explore EVERY BOY NAME EVER. Our initial name isn't out, but he just doesn't want to miss something better. Come on now.

Our girl name for our first was Lucy. That is not DD's name. Our boy name for our second was Bennett. That will not be this child's name.
I can only think of boy names and DH isn't a fan of most of them: Mack, Dane, Leif, Laird I really like Brent but both DH and DS have Br names... and it might be weird. I also like Dean but my BFF just named her baby boy that!
@Marley629 it's my favorite. The only reason we are having a hard time committing to that name is because our last name begins with a P. I'm worried about the alliteration being too much
We've had our girl names picked out for years but then we found out we're having a boy and it sent us for a loop. For weeks we've been talking about it and I think we've finally decided on Nemo Quentin. Two names that no one in our families seem to like. My family doesn't like Quentin and DHs family doesn't like Nemo (I also have a dear friend at work that's torturing me saying that I'm setting my child up for a hard life with the name Nemo but I LOVE it!). Last night we stayed up late discussing it and finally said "hey, it's OUR baby and we're giving him a name that WE love so let's do it!"
Has anyone gone against family opinion and been super happy about it?
My 4 y/o's suggestions for names as of last night. Girl : Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Diamond Sparkle Dash Boy : Little Seagull We're still discussing
@vhill74 our family (including my 3 year old) is against our name (Bronx) but I just know it's his name. They will love him no matter what and I believe their dislike of his name will fade when he's here. (Except my 3 year old who I believe will forever call the baby Jacob Bc that is what he is insisting is his name)
@Kirss I like your 4yo's style. I think Diamond Sparkle Dash and Little Seagull would be great nn's for your bump ...
We're still struggling with a middle name, but the current leader is Alexander Leslie. My step-mom said "so... traditional" with a bit of odd hesitation. My mom liked the clan reference (we're Leslie on the Scottish side of the family), quoted the clan motto at me, and briefly considered weaving a tartan blanket for the "wee bairn."
vhill74 Nemo is a cute name. I do imagine the little guy will have to put up with a lot of "Finding Nemo" jokes, but there are worse things in the world. Better to be Nemo (with a few jokes) than Liam #4!
DH and I don't float names with family. But, I imagine they wouldn't like either of our current favorites and I DON'T CARE. All of DH's cousin's kids have names that are in the top 20 most common names for their birth year; having grown up with 4 Amys and 4 Saras in my grade (60 kids), I just can't imagine doing that to a kid. For the counter experience, I have only ever met one other person with my first name, and my name has served me very well!
@vhill74 we are going against family for the 2nd time now. They hated Everett for some reason but not as much as they hate Memphis. It's the only name we've both agreed on for 2 years now. It's stuck. We love both names.
We named my daughter Isla James and both of our moms HATE it because her middle name is a "boy" name. I don't care at all... I love it, and everyone we know loves it and it fits her perfectly. I'm sure they would both tell you they wouldn't change it if they had the choice, but they don't like it either.
I did feel a little vindication when Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively named their daughter James and there were tons of articles about how cute and awesome boys names on girls is. My mom text me the day the announced her name and I think my response was like "HAHAHAHHAHA. TOLD YOU WE ARE COOL."
We are using the same initials for DS as we did for DD, which is for a long reason that I mentioned in a prior post but am too sleepy to retype right now. Suffice it to say, we have very narrow parameters! First name A, middle name N. My favorite boy's name my entire life was Anakin, but I can't do that with the current Star Wars craze. I also love Atticus, and would've loved Atticus Nolan, but my daughter is Adelina - Addie and...Atti? Not so much! So we are currently stuck.
I am loving these names! But it's also making me feel like a horrible procrastor because I haven't even started thinking. No lists nothing. I guess I should start thinking.... haha
I had a dream of a cherry red classic car with the license plate 'Dylan'. That's what we're going with when DS is born Also Robert as a middle name (family name).
Ughhhh... baby names could be the death of me... DH likes Bruno for a son and Amelia for a girl... and hasn't really budged at all... I am open to a lot of names, but cannot get him to talk about any...
Can I just say I wanted Sebastian for my first and I petitioned HARD for it, and DH never budged. So imagine my surprise when we're on that baby name app and we matched. With Sebastian. I could smack him.
The app isn't letting me tag, but some good ideas for A names! I normally like really unusual names, so just for myself I would definitely avoid anything ending in the -ayden sound because it's so trendy right now. I like the name August but I'm not crazy about the nicknames for it. Hmm.
@kvacmak we must have similar tastes bc, while i don't really like any boy names, i do also have mack and dane on my list. DH doesn't like them though lol.

It's weird bc I'm not this dreamy in real life but I want this baby to have a special life and a special little existence in this world. I feel like after ivf I want this baby to be a gift bc this baby and this experience to get to be someones mom is my life dream and I want to give this baby a special life I don't know if I'm explaining it right
I love the name Winter but my husband hates it because we both hate winter.
Also I've always loved the name Isis but my husband REFUSES
*Tw loss mention* Lastly we were so emotionally invested in our first pregnancy and named baby Jackie after hubby mom who died from cancer when he was 8. I'm sad because I actually really like that name and I've gotten so emotionally attached to it. But I think he feels still a strong connection to that pregnancy and feels like he doesn't want to water that down
