Re: Introductions!
I have a DD that is 2 and a teenage step daughter that lives with DH and I full time.
I waited this long to join in because I have had multiple losses in the past and wanted to get into the "safe zone" before I let myself get too excited. Happy to be here and meet some great people!
this will be my third baby. DD is 6 in august, DS turned 4 last month and we were not expecting a third. I was on birth control and either missed a pill or was taking expired pills (not on purpose). Either way, I thought my due date was dec 16th-ish- and looks like at my U/S on Friday the baby was 12-13 weeks, not 9 weeks.
talk about fast forwarding to the second trimester! I'll come back if my doc confirms what I already think! He should call me tomorrow or Monday!
I'm Brit and at almost 16 weeks and I literally still can't believe I'm growing a human in my belly. I work at a non-profit doing a lot of design and copywriting. My dude and I are in our third year of living in a fixer upper (it's a trap. we are still fixer upper-ing it. don't do it.) and our 11th year of *mushylovestuff*. With each passing year, he gets prettier and I find new and exciting ways to remove new and exciting unwanted hair.
I've really enjoyed this community so far and am happy to have a bunch of fellow grumpy lumpy ladies to commiserate and celebrate with. Even the ones who flamed me for wanting to go to Mexico. Non, je ne regrette rien.
My husband and I are expecting our first child on November 5. Team Green all the way. We've been together 14 years, so this will be a big dynamic shift adventure for us. I'm 32, a tax litigator, dog-Mom, chocoholic, shoe-fiend, yogi, cyclist, and avid hiker. That's a lot. On top of that, I've been on a personal journey to combat a shopping addiction, get my finances in order, and to minimise the "stuff" cluttering my house.
I just uprooted my family over the holidays to move to Maine so I could take a new job. Needless to say finding out we were expecting not long after we moved was a shocker! Guess what they say about long, cold, Maine winters is true.

This pregnancy had had been harder than my first one. I never had morning sickness with my son never any pain. It was all around smooth. Labor wasn't fun but he was 9lbs 8oz. Now this one I have insane morning sickness, mood swings, pain everywhere. Plus since I did have what's considered a big baby My midwife has put my on extra monitoring. She said I'm not high risk but she's going to watch me closer than with my last one.
My name is Victoria, I'm 25, a blogger and small business owner, and I'm an excited FTM! I'm from Helotes, Texas (just outside San Antonio) but moved to Belgium to marry my husband (Honeybear) almost three years ago. Our Honeybee is 15w6d, due 15 November. Thursday's appointment is the results of our NIPT test which means definitive answer to the pink vs. Blue debate in our collective family. I'm a bit of a health and wellness nut, a DIY craft addict, and obsessed with natural and organic products.
I have one angel baby from a previous relationship, but this pregnancy has been NOTHING like that one. This one I had nausea for the first two months, and then my waistline has been steadily expanding for the last two months. Mom brain is kicking in something awful, and since all my mom friends are past the pregnancy stage and well into the "solid food and toddler" stage I decided to join up and have some other moms in the same boat as me to chat with.
We have two rough collies and a whole flock of chickens on our little homestead in the Flemish countryside. We grow most of the vegetables we eat on our land, and we're big on frugality. Husband was concerned about costs for a baby, but after seeing our friends and family on both sides of the Atlantic already buying us stuff and my insistence on using CDs, making baby food, and breastfeeding to save money he's not as worried.
I look forward to chatting with y'all more!

Any Austin moms out there?
We currently have a wonderful 4 1/2 DD and she is super excited to be a big sister. There are still moments of panic where DH and I think what were we thinking. Overall though we are very excited.
