@shortstack930 I had a Lupron trigger twice in my stomach, 12 hours apart and I made DH do it (like all my other shots). The Novarel trigger I got during clomid cycles was done in the Dr office so that doesn't really help you...
@kiwi2628 I am sorry about AF. It is always so disappointing. What a lovely and open experience though! I always love hearing about IF success stories Thanks for sharing.

Another little shout out to CNY Fertility...so obviously Monday didn't go as planned and we need to sit down to reevaluate the next plan. Well...the nurse told me my period could start 4-7 days after the retrieval and I got stressed that this next month would be a waste because I would get it and get meds in time. Well DH called and explained that and they are squeezing me in tomorrow. As much as I don't want to start this again, the idea of waiting longer is more stressful. I love it there so much!
I should also rave about my husband for the number of times I've been frustrated with him through this process he really stepped it up. Gave me all the injections, was a great nurse pepped me up when I needed it...and Monday after they called with the news he simply looked at me and said 'we can do this again'.
@leekat14 You can do this again!! I am happy to hear they are so accommodating and I look forward to hearing about your appointment. Your DH sounds pretty, pretty amazing and I am happy you can lean on him in a time like this!
@leekat14 I'm so happy that they're able to get you in so quickly! I hope that they are able to find a protocol that works better this time around. Also, YH sounds AMAZING! You are a lucky woman to have such an incredibly supportive man behind you throughout this whole process!

@kiwi2628 that's so great! I have found so many times when I start talking about my ivf stuff, someone can relate. So many people have just word vomited all of their stuff when I mention mine. I love it because we don't talk about it enough! I'm glad you had that interaction!
@leekat14 I'm so glad they could get you in early, and your H sounds awesome!
@leekat14 You can do this!!! With your amazing H AND us having your back you are so good to go
And thank you so much for thinking of me - you're kind of amazing. Yep I did my first injection this morning - Menopur and I'll do Follistim tonight. I kind of fucked up the Menopur mixture this morning, but I figured it all out in the end. There is definitely a bit of a learning curve to all of the parts when you have to mix the saline and powder and use different tips and whatnot. I mean I watched the pharmacist and the IVF coordinator at my RE do it... but yeah. It's different when it's 6am and you're doing it yourself.
@leekat14 I'm so happy they're getting you in!! The waiting game is the worst; what a relief to not have to play it! I'm interested to see what they do differently this time!
@antoto Congrats on the first injection! I had to watch the video as I did it the first couple of times, and I also fucked up the Menopur the first time (for some reason 2CCs of fluid going in turned into 1.5 when I was pulling it out), but it becomes old hat after a few days.
@kiwi2628 I'm amazed that every time I mention IF to someone they always either dealt with it themselves or know someone close to them who did and can relate. What a great conversation to have!

@eggplantface I'm glad I'm not the only one who had saline somehow disappear! I wish all of the injections were just prefilled syringes. Sigh.
ETA - I do really appreciate the QCaps though! The only other time I've had to mix saline and powder was for a low dose of Gonal-F and I just had needles for that - WAY harder to draw it all up.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): My chart (temps and OPKs) was a hot mess this month. Basically waiting for AF - spotting started after sex last night.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?). Testing. So far my blood work and u/s were normal. Hubs dropped off his sample on Monday so we're waiting on his results. Next up is an HSG. We talked and because this month was just a mess, we might give it one more shot next month and then I'll schedule it. I feel like we didn't have a fair chance to get it done this month. But really, I'm just in denial that we're going through fertility testing. What the actual fuck?
How are things going? Honestly? Shitty. I'm having a pity party...why me? why us? We're good people - what happened to the whole "whatever you put into the universe will come back to you" stuff? My husband deals with the worst of the worst in our city at work and they have no problems getting KU 3, 4, 5 times. So why can't we??? I'm honestly just pissy and bitter.
Any questions? Not yet.
GTKY: Looking at personal growth. What were your hobbies/sports/interests in high school? What hobbies/sports/interests do you have now or want to have? I loved softball in HS. I played through HS and just didn't have the time for it in college bc I was working along with my classes so that kinda fell off. I joined a work league for a few years but that slowly fizzled out. Now I love to cook. I'd love to still be able to play softball but meh, what can ya do? But literally, I'm pretty boring - life is too hectic for hobbies, unfortunately.
I'm so sorry you find yourself here @50Wife. I was in denial I think until I got the follow-up bloodwork to tell me that the medication was working to bring my prolactin levels down. @50Wife Oh girl. *hugs* IF is really the thing that taught me, deeply, that some things in life are just not a meritocracy. I was raised to believe that if you worked hard you could succeed. That's true for a lot of things. Just not fertility. It's absolute bullshit.
@antoto we probably watched the how to video 14 times before we mixed the menopur! I had to mix that and add the gonal f....and then when I had to do the lupron the syringe was different and I freaked out. Low and behold if I had taken a moment to read the BOLD lettering on the instructions I would have been fine hahaha. I'm so happy you are getting the ball rolling!
@50Wife I can totally relate. What the actual fuck. How can so many people get knocked up by barely looking at a penis...ugh! I will say I felt incredibly better after getting the testing going because I actually felt like I was getting somewhere. Obviously I'm not there yet but baby steps...
@leekat14 You can do this again! You are a strong woman and you will get through this.
@antoto I'm glad things are going OK with your injections. I'm in awe of you ladies mixing your own meds.
@50wife Sorry you find yourself here. I hope you get some better news moving forward.
I need to vent momentarily. TW - loss
Today I had my second post-op follow-up, as my first post-op showed my uterus had not contracted. As of today, not only has my uterus not shrunk back down, but it has tissue in it. The doctor gave me another round of cytotec to see if that will expel the tissue, but I am also scheduled for a repeat D&E next week because another surgery and another six weeks being benched is JUST WHAT I NEEDED.
I have another week for my body to get its shit together. Before the surgery on Wednesday, they'll do an ultrasound to see if I need it. If the cytotec works, or if I get my period and that clears everything out, I won't need it, but the doctor told me "usually" when this happens (which by the way is like a two percent chance, awesome) you need a repeat D&E. I know we don't normally wish this for each other but could everybody send me some heavy period vibes?
I am so depressed, and I am also furious, because it's like every time you think you are getting back to normal BLAM not normal, shit's horrible, did you really think you were going to get past this? Nope this unspeakably terrible time in your life is going to continue indefinitely. I give up.
Oh @adirat I am so so sorry for everything you're going through friend! The universe is just so damn unfair and I want to scream at it on your behalf! I hope the second dose of the cytotec works and you don't have to undergo another D&E

I am so, so sorry you're going through this. The physical/medical after-effects of losses are not commonly talked about in the real world. Most people think it "just happens" naturally for everyone. I wish that had been the case for you.

@purplerains I'm so sorry you had to go through this too. It is a nightmare. You have PM.
@antoto Would RRL work to induce a period? I am going to take the cytotec today but I also want to see if I can bring on a "real" period that might clear out the retained tissue. I actually just looked up foods that can start your period and found parsley and chamomile...this is an under-researched area of medicine and herbal medicine so any suggestions would be super helpful.
@adirat Have you heard of black cohosh tea? My sister swears it brings on her AFs when she's late and knows she's not KU (but she also believes in magic so no promises-- I've never tried it).
@vflux33 I don't know -- your sister's spell happened then your OPK happened so I feel like she may know her stuff? I looked it up and it seems to mimic estrogen which could bring on a period if you have ovulated, but I don't think I ovulated this cycle AL. Might still be worth a shot though. Do you think this is something a Whole Foods would sell? I imagine my Stop and Shop wouldn't... Thanks!
Oh @adirat - so sorry you have to deal with this. It's impossible to grieve and begin to move on, when it keeps coming back to kick you when you're down. So many positive thoughts and hugs to you.
@adirat allegedly RRLT can cause small contractions in the uterus, which is why you aren't allowed to drink it in the first two trimesters of pregnancy.
The hits just keep on coming. @adirat I am so sorry and you have every right to feel frustrated and defeated. I hope the meds and one of these homeopathic ideas work for you immediately. RRLT would make sense if it can induce uterine contractions right? I'll let you know if I find anything else. While you are doing all the things, I suggest tempting fate by wearing white pants.
@adirat They *probably* sell it at Whole Foods and definitely on Amazon. There are supplements too in addition to teas, but I think she uses the teas. I texted her and asked what brand she gets and where--I'll let you know when I hear from her.
@adirat Are you doing any acupuncture yet? If you are or if you can find a fertility specialist to fit you in, you could give it a try. I swear that two periods ago, I went in when I was down to spotting and when I left, the next few hours were back to regular flow. May be coincidence but if you're wanting to pull out all the stops, it can't hurt to try. I'm so sorry. It's so hard to heal emotionally when you're still dealing with the physical side...and for those of us who heal by getting back on the horse, the delays are miserable.
@kiki75 That's a great idea. I was going to acupuncture for months but stopped partway through first tri... I wonder if I could get in on short notice. Thanks.
@antoto First night injection issues happen to the best of
us. The first night I did injections I
was supposed to inject my Gonal dose into the menopur but accidentally injected
it into the dilute so in the end I had to inject the entire vial of dilute/ gonal mixture into the menopur and then inject that into myself.
I've been emailing with a friend today who did IVF and was successful. I know what works for some women isn't the best for others but she told me she took the supplement Pregnitude. I don't think I have ever seen that mentioned on the boards and we have seen EVERYTHING. Anyone have experience with it?

@laurad75 No experience but it seems like it is just folic acid and myo-inositol. Myo-Inositol seems to be used for PCOS women going through IVF just from my googling. My guess is you could buy those supplements separately for less. I know It Starts with the Egg has a supplement protocol for IVF that is definitely supported by research. I can't remember do you have that book?
@saralee797-2 Thanks. I read It Starts with the Egg which motivated me to take DHEA and Ubiquinol.

TTC #1 since April 2015
RE Dx: Fibroids, surgery Jan 2016
IUI #1 and #2, Nov/Dec 2016, BFN
IVF March 2017: ER - 5R/3M/3F, 1 PGS normal
Polyp removed May 2017
FET May 2017 - BFP!
Baby boy born 2/2/18
ETA - I do really appreciate the QCaps though! The only other time I've had to mix saline and powder was for a low dose of Gonal-F and I just had needles for that - WAY harder to draw it all up.

@50Wife I can totally relate. What the actual fuck. How can so many people get knocked up by barely looking at a penis...ugh! I will say I felt incredibly better after getting the testing going because I actually felt like I was getting somewhere. Obviously I'm not there yet but baby steps...

I give up.

Your fury is totally valid. Please vent here all you need. I get clot-filled super heavy periods so I'll send all my heavy period vibes at you.
@adirat
I'm so sorry you're still not through this. All the things are crossed you get past this without another surgery. I know just how you feel to face another long wait and it's so frustrating. Let it out with tears or wine, or both.

@50Wife Fellow LEO wife if I remember right? Im excited to see a familiar name (I remember you from when I was more active on this board) but sad for the reason. I'm sorry you find yourself over here, but the few I know from interaction on here plus the rest from my creepy lurking status previously - they are all awesome and are an amazing support team to have. We will be here to help you navigate the crappy world that is IF and listen to your venting because we totally get it.

@antoto First night injection issues happen to the best of us. The first night I did injections I was supposed to inject my Gonal dose into the menopur but accidentally injected it into the dilute so in the end I had to inject the entire vial of dilute/ gonal mixture into the menopur and then inject that into myself.
@adirat That sounds awful. I’m so sorry.
I've been emailing with a friend today who did IVF and was successful. I know what works for some women isn't the best for others but she told me she took the supplement Pregnitude. I don't think I have ever seen that mentioned on the boards and we have seen EVERYTHING. Anyone have experience with it?
