@leekat14 I hope they are able to come up with a good plan for you today. I've got loads of love and support for you because I know that must be hard getting right back to it after such a letdown like that. Let us know how the appointment goes!
@adirat I am so sorry for what you are going through. I'll be wishing a period your way. FX the high temps are a good sign.
@kiwi2628 poor puppy, poor you! Sending good vibes your way.
@Travelingcouple Good to see you back here! I'm glad your trip was restorative. It sounds like it was awesome! We're all here for you if you need anyone to talk to about what next steps you are considering on the fertility front. Those are certainly not light decisions.
@ramzlau and @Anna_1021 how is the meditation going? I have to admit I haven't meditated since Sunday... But I'm planning to tonight!
So I have a follow up consult to see where I go from here after Monday's failed retrieval. Are there any questions you ladies can think of that I should be asking now that I have one cycle under my belt?
@leekat14 Oh wow I read that wrong **Cue more coffee** Hmm yea I was going to suggest no bcp this time. I wonder if an HCG trigger would make a difference too? I wish I could be of more help but I am looking forward to your update. ETA: forgot tag ugh
@leekat14 I think @saralee797 has good suggestions. I'm far from an expert but on the IF board I've seen people go through multiple types of protocols to get to what works -- antagonist, down regulation, etc. Maybe a totally different protocol is in the cards?
@LadyMillil yay that's great!!! Fx so hard for you!!! Good luck tomorrow!!!
@adirat woohoo for a temp rise!!! Really hope this means AF is coming and nothing further is needed!!!
@leekat14 I don't have any suggestions but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you and hope that today's appointment is productive and goes well. Keep us updated
@saralee797 I'm not sure! I did such a bad job of temping and had no other signs this cycle so I'm not sure when it would have been, but at the latest I'm guessing cd24 and today is cd27 so here's hoping it comes this weekend. Reeeeeally hoping it's soon. I keep visualizing all those great horror movie gifs with flooded hallways And I'm still doing the other tips the ladies gave above just in case.
@adirat FX so hard that temp change is meaningful! Keep doing whatever it is that you're doing!
Random rants about IF and technology. FF should have more IVF stuff as options. I want to put in all my meds but none of them are in there, and it doesn't look like "egg retrieval" is either. I'm kind of tempted to try to reach out to them?
Also I'm taking pictures to show each stage of IVF (down regulation, stims, etc) and I want to have some sort of picture editor that will give me the ability to apply "mile stone" banners - like what you see a lot of parents doing for those monthly photos except it would be "Stim Day 1!" instead of "1 month old!". I figured that there is pretty much an app for everything so I just typed in "IVF" into the app search. Virtually nothing, much less a picture editor.
So if anyone here is into app development PLEASE MAKE SHIT FOR IVF KTHANKS. I can think of so many apps that would be helpful - like meds reminders, special calendars, picture editors, trackers, etc.
@lulu1180 yeah I have VIP (it's been such a waste for like the past year lol) but for meds it just says a few meds like Clomid and Femara and then it just lets you click on "other medications" but I didn't see where you could actually fill in the real name. I feel like they should have the typically IVF meds already in there.
ETA - ohhhhhh I found the place where you can go to edit that shit.
App. I've only opened the browser a handful of times. After I got my Dx I quit temping so I really haven't used it much at all. Thanks so much for the tip that you can add the meds! I'm really happy that I can do that
@antoto To add something custom that isn't in their list of popular choices, you just type in what you want in the "sign" box (I circled it in the screenshot in spoiler) and then hit the add button. And you can do that for meds and specifics
ETA to clarify

@antoto I have been meaning to complain about this exact thing!! I am sad I will never have a FF pregnancy chart. There is no place for an IVF transfer but a retrieval is listed under sex/insemination?? Makes no sense.

Yeah I don't mind adding the meds - whatever. But Egg Retrieval and Embryo Transfer should be already in there in the appropriate locations.
@antoto there are some people on Etsy that make pretty cards that have all the IVF milestones so you can pose with them or arrange them for pics. I agree about the app, I looked as well and it seems like there is nothing.

I saw this but almost all of them ship from outside the US (so wont get to me in time) plus they're like $25 for some damn cards... I dunno. I love supporting artists and will pay tons of money when it's deserved, but these are just printed cards.
@antoto print your own! Use a fancy font and colors and that way you can personalize them. Maybe add dates and a one liner about how you're feeling that day. I'm sure it'll be overwhelming and amazing to look back at once you're past all of this shit. I feel like once you have your "prize" that it might be easy to forget or downplay the emotions you had this entire time.

I love that I'm an art teacher and I didn't think of this. Lol.
Such a good idea!! I still want an app because ... easy... but yes. I'll probably do this.
I just wanted to add to the frustration with FF and its lack of IF features. The Glow app has a lot of features specifically for IF treatment so I use both.

I'm sorry I haven't updated yet but I just wanted to reach out to those with news before it becomes (even more) late!
@LadyMillil that is absolutely wonderful news! You have been waiting so long and I am so happy to hear the next steps are in place. I will be thinking about you Friday! @adirat I am sorry you are looking at yet another week of uncertainty, my fingers are super crossed for a geyser-like eruption as soon as possible. @leekat14 all of the hugs. that just plain sucks and I hope that you are taking care of yourself. As new on this board, I have nothing to offer by way of protocols just true vibes for a much less rocky road as you make your next set of decisions.
Also... This is to brighten up a Thursday for all. (but in case you watch the show Veep and are more than 3 weeks behind, I put it in the spoiler)
Does anyone watch the show Veep? DH and I are a couple weeks behind but we just watched this episode last night...There is a character, Richard Splett who is giving his sperm to a lesbian couple but turns out he was raised ultra conservative Christian and has never, in his words "Shook the hand of the devil" or "self-husbanded". He goes on to ask a lot of awkward questions as to exactly how the specimen gets in the cup. And quite honestly, it was fantastic. It was the first time I laughed at this whole process and you BET those euphemisms are now in DH and my vocabulary!!!!!

Mine looks like this: <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/5t/l4pcl8niwnhd.png" alt=""> I dont know what ici/ivi stand for...? But that's what I would probably pick for transfer day? I know test days would be totally different but??? Maybe could work?
@BusinessWife ICI intra-cervical insemination and IVI intra-vaginal insemination. Retrieval being there just makes no sense. Overall, it is not IVF friendly but I agree you could code it differently *shrugs*
ETA: I had no idea what those were either. I had to look them up!
@saralee797-2. Right? It would make way more sense to put transfer there than retrieval even, so... I mean next step after retrieval is <i>hopefully</i> transfer! That really makes no sense. I woukd enter it as a custom "symptom" then maybe???
