@kiwi2628 Thanks!! I am hoping the time flies since we are kicking off summer this weekend!
@leekat14 I know you mentioned that to me and something definitely seems off there. I know that uncomfortable feeling you are talking about and, for me, it did not go away over night. I think it is worth mentioning to your doc.
@saralee797-2 Yay for starting on the FET prep! I can't remember if you said so, but are you doing PGS testing?
Me: late 30s | H: early 30s TTC #1 since April 2015 RE Dx: Fibroids, surgery Jan 2016 IUI #1 and #2, Nov/Dec 2016, BFN IVF March 2017: ER - 5R/3M/3F, 1 PGS normal Polyp removed May 2017 FET May 2017 - BFP! Baby boy born 2/2/18
@madspunk - I shouldn't get ahead of myself. Cycle 40 is still five cycles away. I just like to borrow trouble from tomorrow, I guess... We will be doing IVF, but we need to give the surgery time to work, which can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. We are going for a happy medium and will pursue IVF right around a year. So next April/Mayish. A BIG part of me wants to jump it and just go for it now, but we did the surgery for a reason and we need to just see if it works. It could impact future siblings, so no need (except my impatiences) to jump the gun.
@leekat14 - Did you know beforehand some stuff would be covered? Under my insurances IUIs are covered, but IVF is not. I have no idea about meds. It doesn't mention anything about them...
@linzrunz - I hate that you "go here" but I'm happy to see you jumping in. I hope you can find support and love here from me and my friends. Much love, Linz. PS. No google. When is your follow up? Also, I don't know that a tiled uterus on its own is necessarily bad... mine is tilted too. Granted, I'm not pregnant, either. So... toss up, really?

@KristoKekerooni I had no idea that insurance would cover anything. It covers IUIs but not IVF...it seems all of the pills/suppositories are covered along with the blood work and ultrasounds. Some of the injections are covered with prior authorization. Not sure if that will be everytime or if there is some type of limit. But I'll take whatever I can get.
@eggplantface No we decided way back when not to. It is a little scary not knowing whether they are normal or not but we were willing to take that chance. The plan is to see if either of these two stick and, if not, we will start again with a new protocol.
@leekat14 - So what made you submit to insurance for pre-auth? Just hope?

Yup! It was worth a try...the worst they could do is deny it. So when the pharmacy was taking my info I gave them my insurance and asked them to run it. They still took my credit card but I figured I should at least try!

@lulu1180 *TW My mom was very, very lucky to be in the study. My dad was doing his residency in the med school where it was taking place (unrelated specialty), so I strongly suspect she got special treatment to be admitted in it at all. Anyway, of course I don't mind sharing: she was 30 when she got KU with my sister, and 33 with me. So not quite AMA, but not 20 either. I don't know whether or not her age was average for the study.
@linzrunz I'm sorry to see you back here but welcome back I have a hysteroscopy next Thursday and I didn't even consider how it would affect your cycle day, but I'm also on BCP so I guess I'll be all messed up anyway. How was the procedure/recovery if you don't mind me asking? Are you cleared to keep trying? I was also on the swim team but the thought of jumping in a pool to swim laps ever again makes me want to crawl in a hole - I'll stick to running

@KristoKekerooni Follow up is Thursday. I've read that a tilted uterus doesn't cause issues but it doesn't make sense to me. I plan on asking the RE about it.
@haylsbayls I had a laparoscopy at the same time so my recovery has been a little more slow going. I'm still at home (a week post op now) and I'm not going back to work ETA: until Friday. I think if it was just the hysteroscopy it would have been an easier recovery. My doc said pelvic rest for six weeks is the normal protocol for her, but she said as long as I wait at least two weeks we could start trying again.

Hey guys, so I know we have discussed BFPs don't belong here, and I wholeheartedly agree, but can we figure out something so we don't have to click the stupid effing grad thread to find out an IFer graduated? Because I am so 100% done. And now there are so many of us that I can't keep track of every single one of you, so it could be weeks till I notice someone is "missing" pair that with us being more likely to take breaks than other TTCers... it's just hard to keep up.
Either that or someone needs to PM me. Because I actually completely can't.
What if maybe each week when whomever starts the thread, they just include a single line with "congrats to all IFer who graduated last week: *tag*" Is that too much? We can also include something about not mentioning them or congratulating them in the thread, but instead taking it to PM or the last week's grad thread.

Are you opposed to looking at the grad thread if you know an IFer is in there?
We could have some sort of bat signal thing where we use a specific gif and whoever first notices an IFer in the grad thread comes here and posts the gif so we all know to check it?

I really like the idea of having a bat signal in here or a line about who graduated the week before, because like @KristoKekerooni and I'm sure plenty of us, I do not open the grad thread anymore unless it gets a huge number of posts. (And then days like today I'm disappointed/ragey/etc.)
But can the gif be something other than a candle? (tw) The November ladies did a candle thread for women with losses and now seeing candle gifs makes me think of my loss. I fully realize this is my problem but maybe something else? (end tw) @Businesswife you have a nice complement of celebration gifs -- maybe one of those?
Also YET AGAIN I wish for an "It's Raining Wondfos" gif!

We can do something else - but I do suggest we keep it general so no one has to search for one specific gif.

I agree. I'm done seeing these newbie BFP posts. Over. It.
@linzrunz I remember you from the dailies, when I used to go there. I'm so sorry you go here now, too, but also glad to see you. FX that the surgery makes all the difference!!
@ramzlau I haven't done IUI (yet), but OH and I are in the middle of freezing sperm, and I totally help. Mostly it's because he wouldn't do it otherwise, but it also keeps it some level of fun and the connection is nice with such a medical process. We're doing it at home now, but have also done it in the clinic. Just a word of warning on that: our experience is that the rooms they give you aren't necessarily conducive to the job at hand (see what i did there?). So be ready to improvise if you're doing it there.
@KristoKekerooni Girl, you are not a baby for feeling that way. I think we all struggle with the grad thread, and we absolutely have to form a circle and protect those that are having an especially hard time with it. I'm so glad you said something. Also, I totally get you thinking about cycle 40. There are so many milestones that you can see looming ahead, and sometimes you want to prepare for them (even though we really can't...). **TW** I'm coming up hard on a year from my loss, and I'm already dreading it. I'm hoping I can find something distracting and fun to fill my mind with on June 13th...oh wait, I think that will be FW and I'll be looking hard at IUI #1. Not sure if that will help or hurt...
AFM:
So I mentioned in my update that OH's count had been down in the last sample we deposited. Well, it turns out that @lulu1180 was right to reassure me. This last sample was much better. We now have 16 vials on ice. We are trying for 24, which could happen if we get 4 each from the 2 samples we'll submit next week. It's possible but not probable...but I think I've decided that if we get to like 22 total next week, I am good with that so that OH doesn't have to wait any longer for treatment.

How are things going? Patience is not something I have much of, so not well. Also, DH is still not really clear on why I get emotional talking about it, or what the potential ramifications could be. But he is trying to be supportive, and knows that it's hard coming up on my birthday this week and not being KTFU, so he's trying to be extra cautious.
Any questions? Not at the moment - trying to absorb everything and learn by lurking. I'm waiting on my copy of It Starts with the Egg, and am trying to take the advice I got last week about diet/weight loss/etc.
GTKY: Looking at personal growth. What were your hobbies/sports/interests in high school? What hobbies/sports/interests do you have now or want to have? In high school, I was really into camping/environmental stuff, which I still am. I was also quite involved with drama and student government. I've gotten to be more 'homemaker'ish recently, and I like to make things myself - body products, knitted things, etc.
@kristokekerooni I see - sorry I got confused about the number of cycles. Wishing you all the strength, patience, and luck in the world to get you through the next several months to see if the surgery worked.
Love the unicorn idea! Thank you @KristoKekerooni for suggesting some kind of change.
@Aurora1973 Thanks for the tips! MH would definitely be more comfortable at home, and I thought at minimum joining him if possible might make it more fun-less sterile. Will keep in mind that it might require the same creativity as an airplane bathroom. That is great that YOH sample was better. FX that next week you make it to the goal! For doing it at home, did you just ask your RE if that was an option?
@Sailing_Mama Sorry YH is having a hard time relating to the emotions of the process. It took awhile for MH to get there too. I think it has helped us when I am able to make it as simple as possible for him. "This process sucks." "It is hard." "I am scared." Those are emotions MH can relate to, even if he doesn't get all the science and hormone levels. I am glad to hear that YH is trying to be supportive, that is the best, even if they don't get it.
Still on mobile, still away on our trip but couldn't resist checking up on you girls. So many feelings, I am so saddened by the hard news you had to face and the things you had to go through: @laurad75@adirat@leekat14@KristoKekerooni (and those i forgot to tag, sorry i'm just scrolling through the thread before H wakes up) so many hugs for you I have nothing more to add to PPs, just wanted to be here for you. So excited for others: @antoto It is starting yey!! Major FX @saralee797-2 Hugs that ER didn't go as planned but great you have new protocol to look for and hey firstandforemost: excited for the 2 embabies GL with FET!
@lulu1180 as others have said: so happy to see you Wish you wouldn't have to be here but you'll be definitely a great addition to this group

Oh and @shortstack930 i gave the trigger to myself. Not sure if it is the same in the US (but i'd think so) I had the pen version, it was super easy to do. Had DH be there for me the whole time, but he was basically just standing next to me. If you have the pen version don't worry, you'll do fine

Welp, not a SS. AF starting hard and heavy this AM. I guess we will be starting our first medicated cycle with IUI next month.
I did have a nice experience yesterday- a client of mine came in ***TW but hopeful**** and she was pregnant so I asked boy or girl and she said actually twins! I dont know what made me say this to her but I said, 'oh my god thats amazing! My H and I are about to start fertility treatments and they told us it can increase twins so we are getting used to the idea for us that that may happen for us', and she looks at her husband for a second and says to me 'actually thats how we got these two!' and we started talking about infertility and treatments and all that and it was so nice, I think for both of us to be honest, because once she got going, its like she couldnt stop.
Re: IF/Testing Weekly Check-in 5/22
@leekat14 I know you mentioned that to me and something definitely seems off there. I know that uncomfortable feeling you are talking about and, for me, it did not go away over night. I think it is worth mentioning to your doc.

@BusinessWife I HAVE MISSED YOUR HUG GIFS!!

Either that or someone needs to PM me. Because I actually completely can't.
What if maybe each week when whomever starts the thread, they just include a single line with
"congrats to all IFer who graduated last week: *tag*"
Is that too much?

ETA just kidding we can find a dif gif
We can do something else - but I do suggest we keep it general so no one has to search for one specific gif.
Maybe a sunrise?
Thanks for being so accommodating.
I strongly associate the actual batsignal with drama LOL

@KristoKekerooni I think a secret sign is a great idea - and I love @eggplantface's idea of a unicorn!
