Re: IF/Testing Weekly Check-in 5/22

  • @kiwi2628 Thanks!! I am hoping the time flies since we are kicking off summer this weekend!

@leekat14 I know you mentioned that to me and something definitely seems off there. I know that uncomfortable feeling you are talking about and, for me, it did not go away over night. I think it is worth mentioning to your doc.

  • @saralee797-2 Yay for starting on the FET prep! I can't remember if you said so, but are you doing PGS testing?

  • @KristoKekerooni I had no idea that insurance would cover anything.  It covers IUIs but not IVF...it seems all of the pills/suppositories are covered along with the blood work and ultrasounds.  Some of the injections are covered with prior authorization.  Not sure if that will be everytime or if there is some type of limit.  But I'll take whatever I can get.
  • @eggplantface No we decided way back when not to. It is a little scary not knowing whether they are normal or not but we were willing to take that chance. The plan is to see if either of these two stick and, if not, we will start again with a new protocol.
  • @leekat14 - So what made you submit to insurance for pre-auth? Just hope?

  • @leekat14 - So what made you submit to insurance for pre-auth? Just hope?
Yup! It was worth a try...the worst they could do is deny it.  So when the pharmacy was taking my info I gave them my insurance and asked them to run it.  They still took my credit card but I figured I should at least try!
  • @leekat14 - Good call, I will definitely try as well!

@lulu1180 *TW My mom was very, very lucky to be in the study. My dad was doing his residency in the med school where it was taking place (unrelated specialty), so I strongly suspect she got special treatment to be admitted in it at all. Anyway, of course I don't mind sharing: she was 30 when she got KU with my sister, and 33 with me. So not quite AMA, but not 20 either. I don't know whether or not her age was average for the study.
  • @linzrunz I'm sorry to see you back here but welcome back <3 I have a hysteroscopy next Thursday and I didn't even consider how it would affect your cycle day, but I'm also on BCP so I guess I'll be all messed up anyway. How was the procedure/recovery if you don't mind me asking? Are you cleared to keep trying? I was also on the swim team but the thought of jumping in a pool to swim laps ever again makes me want to crawl in a hole - I'll stick to running :)

@adirat ❤️❤️❤️ You are so sweet. Thank you. I've been thinking about you.

@BusinessWife I HAVE MISSED YOUR HUG GIFS!!

@KristoKekerooni Follow up is Thursday. I've read that a tilted uterus doesn't cause issues but it doesn't make sense to me. I plan on asking the RE about it.

@haylsbayls I had a laparoscopy at the same time so my recovery has been a little more slow going. I'm still at home (a week post op now) and I'm not going back to work ETA: until Friday. I think if it was just the hysteroscopy it would have been an easier recovery. My doc said pelvic rest for six weeks is the normal protocol for her, but she said as long as I wait at least two weeks we could start trying again.

    I love this idea!
  • @kristokekerooni I see - sorry I got confused about the number of cycles. Wishing you all the strength, patience, and luck in the world to get you through the next several months to see if the surgery worked.

Love the unicorn idea! Thank you @KristoKekerooni for suggesting some kind of change.

@Aurora1973 Thanks for the tips! MH would definitely be more comfortable at home, and I thought at minimum joining him if possible might make it more fun-less sterile. Will keep in mind that it might require the same creativity as an airplane bathroom. That is great that YOH sample was better. FX that next week you make it to the goal! For doing it at home, did you just ask your RE if that was an option?

@Sailing_Mama Sorry YH is having a hard time relating to the emotions of the process. It took awhile for MH to get there too. I think it has helped us when I am able to make it as simple as possible for him. "This process sucks." "It is hard." "I am scared." Those are emotions MH can relate to, even if he doesn't get all the science and hormone levels. I am glad to hear that YH is trying to be supportive, that is the best, even if they don't get it.
  • Oh and @shortstack930 i gave the trigger to myself. Not sure if it is the same in the US (but i'd think so) I had the pen version, it was super easy to do. Had DH be there for me the whole time, but he was basically just standing next to me. If you have the pen version don't worry, you'll do fine :)
