AFM, one PIO down and (hopefully! lol) a million more to go! I had googled and read on here like insane to find all the tips on how to make it not that bad. I put the vial in my bra for about 20 minutes beforehand, and afterwards I sat on one of those hand warmer things (that you put in your gloves when you go skiing?) for a good 20-30 minutes and took turns walking around. Was a little sore for an hour or two, but overall, it wasn't that bad! I wonder if it'll take a few days for the soreness to build up? DH did a great job (he tested for blood, there was none; but there was little bit afterwards though, so he put a bandaid on) but he said that he hated doing it! lol...tonight i'll be visiting him at the fire station cause there's no way i'll be able to do this myself!
I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday so far!
Of course I did, @caseyw8784! Couldn't help myself. I think there's a squinter on my wondfo, but I have trouble believing it. DH saw it without prompting but it's early (5dp5dt) and I haven't seen a + since October 2015, so I will just have to pee on all the things for the next few days.
ETA: and fwiw the PIO kinda hurt the first two injections but actually hasn't been as bad as I expected over the 10+ days I've taken it so far and all I do is massage the injection site for a minute or two afterwards.

@fivetimesnoluck - a squinter is definitely better than no line! yay! FX that the line keeps getting darker and darker over the next few days! (i forget, when is your beta?)
@krenee124 and @fivetimesnoluck Squee!! So exciting!! FX those lines get darker and darker!! Ya'll are getting this May FET group off to a great start, let's keep it up!
@caseyw8784 We're a strange bunch, right? Gawd, I really hope I get to continue these painful shots for the next two months!! lol... Did you try an ice pack first or just go for it? Just trying to prepare myself. Oh, and even though I'm a nurse there is NO WAY I'm giving myself an IM injection in the ass. I'll have to come see my friends at work if DH is out of town!
AFM, I haven't started my PIO injections yet, but unfortunately I had to add delestrogen IM injections to my protocol since my estrogen was low last week. It's an oil as well, but only 0.4ml (PIO will be 1ml). I have to do them weekly, so every Wednesday once I start PIO, I'll be doing not one, but two IM injections a night. My poor butt

@hbomb513 - didn't try an ice pack last night. i had read some people saying that even though they didn't feel the needle, they got more lumps cause the oil thickened, or something. i think i massaged the area for a couple minutes beforehand, but can't remember...lol! I think it's interesting that the delestrogen shots are only weekly? I've heard others talk about them, but never knew what they were for. That sucks that you'll have to do 2 shots on Wednesday! Like you said, at least it's only .4ml...tonight the PIO is 1ml, but starting tomorrow it'll be 2ml, for some reason...
@Hopeful_mom - DH didn't realize until last night that the PIO shots might be longer than the 5-6 nights until the FET! When I told him, he was so not enthusiastic about it...I jokingly said that he would now have an outlet to take his frustration out on me every night, he replied with a snarky comment something along the lines of, "I feel like *I'm* the one taking these shots cause you're being a pain in MY ass!" But, he is a paramedic firefighter, so this is easy stuff for him, and he did a fantastic job, making it barely hurt!
@JESSABER0414 - haha, i think i miscalculated - your FET is actually tomorrow? most of the day yesterday i was thinking it was sunday! enjoy today, and good luck!
@JESSABER0414 Good luck tomorrow!! Enjoy your benzo lol...
@caseyw8784 I hadn't heard about the lumps with the ice, but that totally makes sense, with it being an oil. I think you're doing the right thing with the warm pack after, I think that's what I'll do. The needle part isn't that bad anyway, it's just the fact that it's so dang thick of a solution...How are you doing with the 2ml injection?? That's a lot Post transfer, I have to keep doing both the crinone AND the PIO. I asked if I could just do PIO since it's cheaper (I'm OOP and the crinone is $45 an applicator!) but they didn't seem too keen on that for whatever reason. Like we say, I'll be so grateful to get to continue these (expensive and painful) meds!

@hbomb513 - Last night's 1ml injection went fine. I had to drive to DH's station and have him do it in the back room...I wonder what all the other guys were thinking when we went into the room and closed the door! ...i'll let you know tomorrow how the 2ml injection goes...tonight is the first one with that much! I never asked why they increased it...maybe they want to give me a "super" injection before the FET. I wonder/hope if they'll have me go back to just 1ml afterwards. Woke up today with a sore hip/butt area. Pretty mild, but so far no other side effects from the progesterone!

@casey8784 The faint line appeared again today. I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic! I teared up a little at breakfast this morning with DH just thinking that this may finally work for us. My losses have taken away the ability for me to be automatically excited. But I have a wonderful RE this time around who specializes in RPL and we have a plan, in addition to the fact that we used donor eggs - so, I'm hopeful. Not convinced just yet, but definitely hopeful.
ETA: I'm glad your injection went well! Hopefully they all will! We had a couple friends over to watch the Derby and DH gave me my shot right in front of them. Almost everyone in my world knows - and most are really curious about it all. I'm happy to educate. We weren't always so open, but after four years...

@fivetimesnoluck - we have a couple nights coming up that we are having friends and/or family staying with us. the friends know that we are doing IVF but don't know at which point we are at. DH's cousin has no clue that we are doing IVF, however I think they ended up doing (some sort of) IF treatment, so I don't care if they find out since they'll probably understand the most of DH's family.
I get why you and your husband are hesitant to get too excited too soon. (TW) we had a couple chemical pregnancies, and in between we had a false negative hpt. Like, it was a legit line that was darker than the control line, but it lied. After that one, DH said that he won't let himself believe it/get excited until the doctor officially tells him.
AFM, DH and I are going to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 tonight...I'm looking forward to it! If we have time before he gets home from work, we're going to go get some sushi...as a (hopeful) last hurrah!
@kris031409 and @fivetimesnoluck how exciting to get those squinters! Sorry if you already said, when are your beta tests? I can also understand being cautiously excited. I feel like it will take a long time for it to sink in when it finally happens for me. @JESSABER0414 good luck tomorrow! @caseyw8784 enjoy the movie tonight, I've been wanting to see that, too.

caseyw8784 PIO in the movie theater bathroom wasn't too bad, I am starting to get pretty sore now though. My DH has a crazy schedule too, he's a cop and switches from night to day every 4 weeks. I am sorry for your losses, @caseyw8784. It's never easy. Did you mean that y'all got a false positive on a test? And it wasn't a chemical? I was just telling DH yesterday that that really doesn't happen, but obviously it can! I am sure that was difficult!
@hhbombb Ugh, so sorry you will have to have that double shot! That sucks. I just keep telling myself it will all be worth it.
AFM: the lines have continued to appear on my wondfos, and they have gotten a smidge darker, but I swear they don't change much. Thursday can't come soon enough. I am trying to hold off buying a digi and just wait it out.
Has anyone doing the PIO started to get a lump at the injection site(s)? Is that a problem? Or simply to be expected?
My
next big worry is that if I am indeed PG, I will have to administer the
shot to myself next week while I am out of town two nights for work.
Any pointers from those of you doing it yourself?

Guys, the 2ml injection SUCKS!!! It hurt going in, and was sore for a lot longer last night! Granted, the muscles in general might just be getting sore now. I'm hoping that they'll let me go back to 1ml after the transfer!
@fivetimesnoluck - my RE is considering it a "legit" false positive. The next day I had started spotting a bit, so I took another test, and it was as white as newly fallen snow! So i took a few more and then went in for a blood test, and HCG was a resounding "no." lol. i wasn't too "upset" about that one, cause we didn't have much time to let it sink in before we were told we weren't pregnant, if that makes any sense. I think lumps are to be expected. i don't think I've gotten any yet, but i've only done the shots for a few nights. i heard heat really helps disperse the oil so that may help the lumps go away and/or not form. and YAY for the lines getting darker!
fivetimesnoluck my lines are sooo slow to get darker too. Yesterday my FRER was lighter than the day before and I panicked, then the wondfo was darker than the day before so I calmed down, the FRER was from a new pack and the control line was lighter too... I got a BFN on a digital on Saturday, so I'm waiting until tomorrow to try again. And I mayyyy have posted on that same board that you did I'm with you on Thursday can't come soon enough! Will you be able to do your second beta on Saturday? As for the PIO shots, I've been doing them myself. I don't have any issue, but I do find it hard to reach around with my other arm to pull back and check for blood if I'm wearing a bra, so I take it off before starting.

So I know that there's a plethora of side effects that come hand in hand with progesterone, and I know they've been talked about ad nauseum on these boards, but is moodiness one of them? I almost just broke down in tears for no reason whatsoever, and kind of freaked out DH...hahaha!
Less than 48 hours until my transfer...things are getting so real now!
@caseyw8784 Yes moodiness absolutely can be one of the side effects! Lol! My husband tells himself "it's the meds talking, not her.." haha
Afm, hysteroscopy went well today. I was super nervous and only had a minor traumatic incident involving getting the needle into one of my tiny veins. So happy and relieved it's over with. Thanks, ladies! I just got a message from my RE's office that they changed my appointment to 9:45 am on Wednesday instead of the original 10:30. They didn't say why, but I don't mind it being earlier...means that I'll be PUPO sooner! haha!
DH is working a 24 tomorrow, and has already made plans to make sure he's home in time on Wednesday (usually gets home around 8-8:30am, and we would have to leave at 8:45 to get there around 9:15-ish). Tomorrow I plan on relaxing and not doing much of anything (maybe one final long hot bath before i can't for a while??) and then am meeting my best friend for dinner; she knows all about the ivf journey, and has been a great pillar of support. She wanted to take me out for a girls night to celebrate the fact that we have finally got to the FET!
@Hoping10 - I'm glad the procedure is over and it went well! FX that AF comes soon so you can move forward with the Estrace!!
@hoping10 glad the procedure went well and that you haven't needed pain meds! Yay for moving onto the next step @caseyw8784 it's so exciting to get so close! That's a lot
Post transfer, I have to keep doing both the crinone AND the PIO. I asked if I could just do PIO since it's cheaper (I'm OOP and the crinone is $45 an applicator!) but they didn't seem too keen on that for whatever reason. Like we say, I'll be so grateful to get to continue these (expensive and painful) meds!

ETA: I'm glad your injection went well! Hopefully they all will! We had a couple friends over to watch the Derby and DH gave me my shot right in front of them. Almost everyone in my world knows - and most are really curious about it all. I'm happy to educate. We weren't always so open, but after four years...

@JESSABER0414 good luck tomorrow!
@caseyw8784 enjoy the movie tonight, I've been wanting to see that, too.
AFM I just got confirmation that I had my LH surge yesterday and ET is set for Saturday. I'm excited it's almost here!

Sticky thoughts to you today, @JESSABER0414!!
My next big worry is that if I am indeed PG, I will have to administer the shot to myself next week while I am out of town two nights for work. Any pointers from those of you doing it yourself?

@JESSABER0414 - sticky vibes today!

@JESSABER0414 Hope your transfer went well!!
RE removed the polyp. I haven't needed any pain meds. I stopped bc pills today. Now I wait for my period and then we can get started with estrace..moving forward!!

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start!
@caseyw8784 it's so exciting to get so close! I've definitely been enjoying baths while I still can. It helps me to relax and destress. That's so nice you have a friend who has been so supportive. It definitely helps to have someone IRL that you can share this wild experience with with.
So I know we were talking about secret registries and before I was guilty of pinning nursery pictures on a secret pintrest board. Does anyone do anything similar or have I taken it too far?
