@bluejeanbabi05 I was wondering where all these new people keep coming from and then never see them post anything else, ever! This group should be far more active considering the number of mamas who are on the spreadsheet/intro thread.
- I'm up for a private bump group before Facebook, if you'll have me!
- Steak - medium is delish! Now I want some on the grill, stat!
- Dogs - after I said I don't like dogs, DD asked if we could get a baby doggy. I said we're having a baby human instead.
- Coffee - nope, nope, nope! The one smell that's made me want to vomit during both pregnancies. I never drank coffee until DD was 2 and I was still working, even then it was only when I was about to pass out at my desk. I get by with iced green or black tea ... or gasp, nothing!
I think the vast majority of car dealerships, towing companies, repair/oil change shops and car rental places are extremely shady and take advantage of people. I'm having a super bad experience right now, but just beyond that I know people in all those industries and they're so nonchalant about their shadiness.
I told myself I couldn't get back on here until I graded the work I left for my students last week when I was absent (spoiler alert...it was depressing) so let me catch up here...
*I LOVE STEAK. Probably more so now that thinking about chicken makes me want to throw up. Medium is the way to go.
*I also loooove coffee. I quit drinking it the minute I found out I was pregnant and had the mother of all withdrawal headaches. And then later I found out I could have a cup a day, but I haven't started drinking it again. I don't know if I could just have one cup... haha. I may get some Decaf pods just becauase I like the taste.
*I am definitely a dog person. I have a year and half old corgi and he's the best! I can't imagine being on bedrest for the last week and a half without a puppy to cuddle with. I don't hate cats, but I'm pretty allergic to them.
*A private bump group sounds good, especially since I am not able to get on Facebook at work because I work in a building full of social media obsessed teenagers.
@carries2018 I see that the Aaron Hernandez case was officially deemed suicide. How dare they conclude that before you've finished your investigation!
My UO: I LOVE the show Survivor. I have watched every single season, but I'd never go on the show haha.
@JessDG If loving Survivor is wrong, I don't want to be right, haha! I started watching it a few years ago so I haven't see a lot of the earlier seasons, but it's so addicting. I get irrationally angry at the players when they make stupid moves.
I don't wanna leave here yet bc the crazies give me reason to live. Also I don't know what these private groups you speak of are. Is it fool proof? I don't watch an IT show so I don't know much about these computer things.
I also want FB bc I'm trying to get this wallpaper business to take off.
I also don't understand the groups. How is it different than this? But I'm down for whatever. Pinky swears I'm not a catfish (I would come up with a way cooler background story than SAHM/real housewife of Sacramento).
Also DD1 has appeared to have grown a foot overnight and I haven't had a chance to buy her new clothes. So I'm trying to pass her style off as a series of crop tops.

The groups can be made private, they can only be entered if someone invites you or approves your request to join. It's not monitored by the Bump Gods so you can swear and use questionable gifs.
Since theyre more private, people tend to go a little bit more in depth about their lives, since stranger danger isn't lurking on the forum.
I feel like I don't post enough to be invited to this fancy private group I just don't have enough time in my day to keep up with you guys like I want to.
UO I rarely watch tv. We don't have cable and so it is easy not to watch. It took me four maternity leaves to get through the entire series of Law and Order Criminal Intent. I have spent six years trying to watch Supernatural (currently on season 9). I don't really get binge watching but have sat with Hubby to watch all of The Magicians.
@asickles98 It's refreshing to know someone actually does something with their life. Unlike me, who is going to grow to the couch before this is all said and done. Who needs drugs when I have Netflix and Hulu?!

@Myelhsa Oh. well. I enjoy swearing so F$*&ing count me in.
+1. Specially if its invite only and that we can feel free to share anything without any stranger danger. I quit FB a few yrs back so I wouldnt be part of that project. But i love the Bump and would love the private group because i like you all, and think i have a lot to learn from you ( english skills included lol). *goes back to enjoy Hs day off with him on the couch* (Ill probably come back to catch up later when he goes for his cigarettes.. So that I dont faint when I see ALL i have to catch up on tomorrow morning.)
@yasandson your H has the day off? I'm exhausted for you just thinking about it *wink wink, nudge nudge*
Bahahahaha. Im exhausted for me too. Increased sex drive has not happened for me yet. Quite the opposite my dear. I guess since i dont do sports (only my thumbs do with tv remote and cellphone) i figure hes helping me out
Woooo, just got caught up after leaving my job, ugh to adulting. -I'm down for the private group because well, I don't have Facebook (I don't live under a rock it was just too much family drama so, delete)
-medium rare steak all the way, but for the last month I've had the worst adversion to steak and the thought of eating one kind of makes me want to gag.
-I look like a box (pre pregnancy) I have a super high waist and super short torso, which is why my bump is like wam bam thank ya ma'am already. But my doctor said my long waist is going to help me in delivery so crop tops kind of make me look like spongebob so that's a no go.
@jessafishy agree 100%. I guess times were much more simple "back in the day" and there are so many factors to consider now. The cost of living is so high. But I also think that now there is this mentality that you are supposed to work your life away and I'm just not on board with that.
Me neither! We are trying to take the "life by design" approach. What you are "supposed"!to do drives many people and they don't even always realize it. Add to that a high cost of living and it's tricky. But the more you can simplify your life the more you can take many factors out of the equation and live the life you want. I'm not saying it's possible all the time but IF you want one parent to be home sometimes simplifying life, getting rid of one car, downsizing your home, moving to a cheaper city, are options that can truly make that possible. Much of the road our life takes in in our control. I get what a few of you were saying about feminism. I sometimes feel like it's great that women can have it all, live how they want, work or not work, havenkids or not etc. But sometimes the feminism hasn't really reached the other end of the spectrum.i know many amazing helpful husbands, mine being one of them but I also know many working mothers who are so stressed because both spouses are working but they still end up doing the majority of the cooking and housework (traditional woman's work if you will) .so they have double the load that the husband does because they had they chose to work. I feel like its only really equal if you both work and split everything else 50/50 too.

You guys would be so bored stalking my facebook. I barely ever post anything on there.
@Knottie1447173547 Yes, if the women works and still does the majority of the house work then I just don't see how that could be enjoyable. I've also found with most of the IRL relationships I know that the women, even if the man helps out and does "50/50", is still responsible for delegating the responsibilities and making sure that everything gets done. So the responsibility still falls on the women to make sure that everything gets done and that is stressful. Should men also be responsible for making sure everything gets done? Sure. But men are dumb sometimes. I love them, but they are kind of dumb.
Drinking wine when pregnant. I asked my doc if I could have a glass when out to dinner with my husband this weekend for my birthday. She said it's totally fine and she even had a few beers when she was pregnant with her twins! I never did it with my first, but I'm totally doing it Saturday!!!
I've gotta start logging on more on nights and weekends. I feel like I spend the first hour of my day at work catching up on all the latest stuffs.
Um, could be up for private bump group, definitely didn't know anything about that.
I had some chocolate peanut butter beer in my 8th month with DD. She turned out fine. As a rule, I abstain, but I also keep in mind that it's pretty well accepted in other parts of the world to drink in later trimesters.
I do most of the housework, but DH does all of the outside work so I feel like it evens out. I plan the meals, but if I plan one for him to do, he does it. He'll also do anything if I ask him to - dishes, floors (I think this is secretly his favorite), he does his own laundry. I don't know, I feel like it evens out because we have several acres to take care of and he keeps it looking like a professional comes in every day. He stayed home with DD for about a year and a half and I think it opened his eyes to how much I was doing so he definitely helps out a lot more now. He's always done the outside work though.
I do, however, know how to fix a toilet and fix most basic maintenance things around the house. I lived by myself before we were married and made it a point to learn how to do things on my own so I never had to "rely on a man." Does that mean I fix the dishwasher or toilet now? No, I usually holler for DH to do it. But I can do it. So that's being a feminist enough for me.

BFP#2: 4/19/13 EDD 12/28/13. Team Green for pregnancy and Baby Girl arrived 12/21/13. BFP#3: 2/9/13 EDD 10/18/17. Team Green for Round 2!
I guess I'm the resident pothead, and I'm a-okay with that I've vaped a few times this pregnancy to deal with the morning sickness - it got to the point where DH and I were deciding between weed and pharmaceutical drugs and we both felt more comfortable with weed. I guess we're more hippy-ish than we thought. I understand why people are anti so bring on the judgments and happy 4/20 from Colorado!
I'm a bit late to the conversation but I guess I'm sitting next to you lol DH and i are both recreational users. We dont lay around all day and become vegetables. DH's favorite thing is a doobie and then cleaning the whole house. I wish i had vaped 1st trimester. It probably would have helped me from losing so much weight from lack of appetite and vomiting. I agree that chances are, weed is going to have a much smaller impact on pregnancy than pharmaceutical drugs.
