At 18+2 am I crazy to think I was just able to feel Baby from the outside? I felt the usual little pop/poke feeling that I've come to realize is Baby so I put my hand on that spot and I swear I felt a kick from the outside. But I know it's early AND I'm a FTM so I'm wondering if it really could have been or if I imagined it?

Ladies- I'm so nervous about how our boys are going to handle DH's upcoming deployment. We've been so lucky that as long as both of them have been alive, we haven't had to deal with deployments...they both love their daddy so much and he's such a huge part of their day to day lives...
@Sugargirl1019 yes, we should be able to do some FaceTime/Skype but not very often. The tempo of deployments means DH works 12+ hours/day 7 days/week...& we're going to be on really different time zones, so that can prove challenging. I'm so thankful for technology regardless. Thankfully DS2 is 16ish months and shouldn't have any huge milestones while we're all apart. DS1 is 6 years old and he'll probably lose a tooth or two and improve on his reading and swimming, but those can all be videoed. We'll be living with my parents which will be helpful too. DH is worried that Callum (DS2) will forget him--I assured him that wasn't even possible with the bond they share!!

How long will he be deployed for? My father was constantly deploying throughout my childhood and my ex husband was in the military prior to our divorce so I definitely understand the life. The moving around, being lonely... etc. I didn't have to do it for long but I admire everyone so much that has to make such sacrifices because it has to be hard for both of you.
Even if it may not happen frequently, taking advantage of any possible moment to FaceTime or Skype would help so much, I imagine. It may take some time for the kids to get adjusted to not having him there, but it will get better. I was such a daddy's girl but my mom kept me distracted and planned a lot for us during his absence. I feel like when the love of your life is gone for so long, it truly makes you see the time you have together in a whole new light and makes it so much more significant and special. Sometikes I think it's easy to take our loves for granted when we have the luxury of being with them every single day and not having to go through that separation.
@Msashley2010 this one is only supposed to be a few months long and DH is supposed to be back for the birth. Hoping it all falls into place--we've been active duty for 17 years, so I'm aware that I have to hold all these things with an open hand. It's so much better than it used to be (no Skype/Facetime...hand written letters, etc).
You are so right, these times of having to be apart from the one who holds our heart help us not take them for granted (as much hopefully). We've had a lot of longer days/less of daddy around these past few weeks as things have been working up, so the transition may not be as drastic. Also, we'll be keeping the boys busy with school (Carter-the 6 yo), swimming, playing outside, & memory making with their Bebe & OB (what we call their grandparents).
@Swazzle It could have been!! I started feeling movements on the inside around 15 weeks and I'm a FTM. Nothing on the outside yet and I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow. I think I would feel on the outside if it weren't for some extra pooch lol! Everyone is different!
@jutondreau I can't imagine how hard that's going to be for your family! But I agree with msashley, thank goodness for technology! Hopefully that makes it a littler easier on the babies. And thank goodness he should be back for the birth too! I have always had the most respect for military families. DH was going to be active duty before that door slammed shut, and I was worried about if I would be about if I would be able to hold myself together while he was gone! I think staying busy will help too! Hugs mama. I'm always here if you need to talk! Just give me a heads up if you message me since I never get notified of messages lol.
I had it up on my TV... walked away for ONE minute go put on clothes... to return to a baby giraffe on the ground. DH says "April you loose whore!" Ha! I'm sure I'll be able to watch a replay, but still. I didn't think I cared until I started watching it actually happen.
Shopping alert! Target has 10% off a lot of baby stuff today only. Online code baby10.
We just ordered our crib, dresser, mattress, and travel system. Our first purchases besides clothes. DH can't wait to pick it up and start putting together baby's room.
I just learned that I'm supposed to be a bridesmaid at 32 weeks. The wedding is also 3 hours from my house and outside in July in Texas. This is probably going to suck a lot. The bride was one of my bridesmaids, so I'm not comfortable saying no. But, I thought she was asking if I could go to a wedding in July, not be in one. She just had a baby, so I'm sure she'll understand when I skip the bachelorette and need to sit a bunch at the wedding.

I will commiserate with you. I'm the maid (matron?) of honor at an outside wedding at the end of August, 4 hours from home. I asked her if she was sure she wanted me in her pictures. I wouldn't say no because she's my beat friend, but I'm praying that I still feel good at that point! We're going to drop DS off at my moms and then make a weekend out of it. We shall see! Is yours going to be a big wedding? If she just had a baby's I'm sure she'll understand if you skip out on some things. This is my friend's second wedding so it'll be smaller and more intimate.
@bridge-and-wall I will never understand outdoor summer weddings in Texas. They're torture for everyone! Hopefully she'll be understanding that you'll need breaks and a very breathable dress!

At Easter today, my cousin announces she's expecting 4 days after me. We both have the same birthday, so it would be really cool if the babies were born on the same day!
I kept scrolling through FB looking for baby announcements. There were none. I was surprised. Although, there was one gender reveal announcement.

Is it sad that I had all these cute pictures of us at Easter but wouldn't post the ones where you could tell I'm pregnant? I think there's something wrong with me.
@bridge-and-wall my sisters best friend got married in June of last year when my sister was 8 months pregnant. My sister was supposed to be her MOH, but the crazy lady planned it for the hottest time of day, outside in the sun, and the dresses were black. My sister lied and told her that her dress didn't fit anymore, and her friend was totally cool with her just being their photographer. She had other bridesmaids so it wasn't really a big deal. Kinda crappy to lie.. but why stick an eight months pregnant lady in a black dress in the sun in the middle of summer???? Are you nuts? She had done the time and location very very last minute, like the last few weeks before the wedding... when my sister agreed and got the dress she was under the impression it would be indoors and later in the day when it was cooler. She's not a complete monster... but she still lied to get out of it lol
