I'm fiercely private and modest. I made DH leave the room when they put the catheter in, but by about 2 pushes in, I was like, "does the janitor want to see? If he can help get this baby out, bring him on in."
@mrs_tacos yes! We wouldn't those students learning how to bring life into this world to be taught by real-life experiences, now would we? I'm pretty modest as well, but I have respect for ALL the people that were in the room when DS was born, I'm glad they were all there doing their jobs and helping me along. I'm still confused as to what Walmart has to do with anything though.
Every time I feel myself becoming shocked at people's lack of understanding of the English language, I remind myself of this little story...
When I was a junior in high school I took some classes at the junior college nearby. One of the ones I took was English 101. We spent an entire class period discussing the capitalization of the word I. And... wait for it.... several people took notes.
I had a bodily fluid exposure at work today I won't give you details, but it was GROSS! I had to get tested for hiv, hep c, hep b.. and I'm just really concerned if I'm gonna get the flu or strep from the patient instead! Boo. Ew.

I took a MSHA class at the college in town when I started at the coal mine, (Miners safety and health administration) and when we had to read from our books.... it was so eye opening to me how many grown ass adults couldn't read well at all. Had to stop and sound things out, choppy, mispronouncing words, it was so painful. It hurt my heart. English has always been my best subject. Any errors on TB are most likely phone keyboard/fast typing related! I English.
@HollyGolightly09@wyomama0427 I tutored adults getting their GEDs in English for a bit. It amazed me how horrifically our education system had failed them. I can get a little catty internally about people I know should know better, but I feel so bad for people who just never learned. So much of literacy is connected to the availability of reading materials when you're young, and even though my family was fairly poor when I was a kid, I am eternally grateful that my parents went out of their way to read to me and make sure I had books available to me.

Oh my lawd. Girl! Fingers crossed you come away clean! I worked at a smoker friendly gas station when I started college and when I was emptying the trash at the pumps I got stabbed in the hand by a needle. Did lots of testing for months afterward. Scary stuff!!
You guys. A few days ago, I had mentioned on a FB post about pump options (in a mom group I admin) that I'd love to get my hands on a Spectra S2 breastpump if I had the chance.
This was given to me tonight from another mom in the group. Barely used for less than a month. Breastfeeding didn't work out for her and it was just taking up space.

Yall....I thought I was going to end up OWING taxes this year (caused a total freak out because DH has been wreckless lately with spending...despite desperately needing to save)...WE ARE GETTING $400 BACK. THANKS BE TO JESUS. I know it's not a lot, but holy hell is it better than the $2k i thought we might owe!

It comes with a couple bottles and I read on some Amazon reviews that there are certain cheaper types/brands that will fit it you can get at Wal-Mart/Target more easily.

Read through weekly symptoms and didn't see anything. And the Midwifery center seems to be pretty strict about calling after hours. Has anyone had left side pain about level or just below their belly button? It's kind of a throbbing pain in that it comes and goes and is on the acute side I'd say? Hoping it's just gas but definitely not similar to gas or stretching pains I've had before
@carebella is your ute hard around where the pain is? It could easily be your LO stretching out. I had acute pain like that with DS and it ended up just being him wanting more room.
I'm having pain about 3 inches to the left of my belly button, but it feels like it's in the abdominal wall, not underneath. How "deep" in your body is the pain?
Sorry to post and run, late dinner here and now attempting bedtime.
@Becky012016 I've felt movement that feels more like little one (STM, 19w tomorrow) on the right side at the same time I've been having the pain so I feel like it isn't the baby, but could be wrong. UTE doesn't fee hard when it happens and it's still going on after maybe two hours?
That sounds like the same spot @jena333-2, and I'd say it's definitely an inch or so in and not on the surface.
@Msashley2010 You are always so kind. I feel your pain, I have been asked already if I'm sure it's not twins, by another pregnant woman no less, because she didn't show until 25 weeks, and couldn't believe I was already showing so much.
Sorry, just now catching up. #1 Your bump/body is fab! #2 I feel your pain a bit. My friend at work just delivered Sunday, and I feel like I'm as big now at 20 weeks as she was last week! She's also probably a size 2/4 and I'm.... not.
I am so cranky today. I didn't sleep great so I woke up tired and with a raging headache. I just keep reminding myself that I'm off tomorrow and so I just have to get through today.

@wyomama0427 Omg a used needle in a trash can??? most likely from an IV drug user??? That is absolutely horrifying holy crap.
I somehow missed this comment, I didn't even see it! But yes, a used needle not even all the way in the trash can, stuck in the top part of the bag where you would gather it to tie it. It was horrible! I was terrified. But I'm still all clean to this day so I think I got pretty lucky there.
So, I may or may not have driven 3 miles out of my way this morning to pick up a piece of cake from a different office. I also may or may not have accepted a donut from one of the security guards there.
Apparently I failed the one hour glucose test, so I have to do the 3 hour next week. Maybe I shouldn't eat that cake.
Has anyone else been told that they can't even have water before the glucose test? For the one hour, it was no food if drink except for water. The nurse today said absolutely no food or drink, not even water after midnight. I'm not sure I can go 12 hours without water. If I get dehydrated I get crampy.
@bridge-and-wall you were allowed to eat and/or drink before the 1 hr. And just water during the 1 hr of waiting...and i do not see how keeping a pregnant woman from drinking water is in anyway healthy...
@bridge-and-wall I was told the same thing. I was told nothing to eat or drink after midnight, but if I needed it, I could have small sips of water.
As a side note, I will say that since I have been diagnosed and taking my sugar 4 times a day, I have noticed a difference if I drink tons of water. I mean TONS of water though. Like 220 + ounces of water a day.
Edit because apparently I don't know the difference between gallons and ounces.
@DPandMB@bridge-and-wall A bunch of ladies on my Type 1 pregnancy page swear by taking a hot shower after a meal to help lower blood sugar. I have zero idea how this could help, but if you can easily shower and not fight with your hair, cool. Also, taking a walk around the neighborhood after every meal helps lower the blood sugar.

Yes! Same exact thing happened to me. i failed the one-hour and then they told me I couldn't eat or drink anything before the 3 hour. I was so nervous about it hat I didn't, just scheduled it for first thing in the morning.
So last night dh had a bad dream that demons were stacking him. I woke him up and asked him what was wrong. He told me the demons were trying to kill him. Then he went back to sleep. Well around 1 am DS was sick. He Couldn't keep anything down. I was up with him all night while DH was asleep. While LO was puking his guts up dh started screaming in his sleep. I ignored him because I was taking care of DS. This morning he woke up and said why didn't you wake me up last night. I was like because you didn't help me with Tanner so I'm letting the demons get you in your sleep.

Shower caps for lyfe.

@kelseyrayay I just lol'ed with food in my mouth. It seems like a fair thing to me!
He deserved to be attacked by them for not helping me lol. And I am bad with handeling bodily fluids. So I was trying not to get sick while he was getting sick.
@Sugargirl1019 a shower? I hadn't heard that yet. I heard about the walk, but I've been so sick with my sinus infection and bronchitis, I haven't tried it yet.
