@nda_roxybabe, they'll be doing an ultrasound for me at 36 weeks to check. I'll probably ask for a bedside one again at each appointment after that to see if he has flipped. I'd like to have a VBAC, so I'll be annoyingly insistent that they check on it.

@nda_roxybabe my OB doesn't do US in his office but at my last appt he was able to just feel around and found that her head was down. Ask your OB about checking.
@nda_roxybabe Your doctor *should* be able to feel if baby is head down just by feeling around your stomach. My doctor yesterday could feel babies head down (I'm 33wks). And when/if you do a membrane sweep my babies have always been so low my doctor can feel babies head at that point too.

with my last pregnancy I only had 2 ultrasounds. The initial one and then the anatomy scan 20 or so weeks. I think this is pretty typical unless there is a need for more. They can check placement with their hands at the office.
Pregnancy related carpal tunnel started and really sucks. It's more annoying than anything, so it's manageable but makes me want to stab my own eye sometimes. Now that I know what it is, I'll go buy a brace. I just need to get to the store.
@MollyandD - I'm sorry you are dealing with that! I had it really bad with my first, to the point that I had to end bf'ing mostly because of it. If you have a chance to get PT, I highly recommend it, particularly because they help you figure out what might be making it bad.

@chickyclg confession: y'all are entertaining me while I pump. Because pumping sucks, and bumping makes it better.
Old post, but TB app kicked me off and won't let me log back in. Amen to this ^^^ @Squirtgun -- I am so lost without my mobile Bump breaks whilst pumping... I'm actually working on my to-do list (satisfying but I miss TB!)
I just tested positive for flu b and now I'm pissed. I'm crazy about hand hygiene and wear a mask with almost every patient, but still! I feel like I'm on the verge of a meltdown here. On my way to go pick up tamiflu, which I hate because it's high side effect/low efficacy from what I've heard, and I hate taking any medications, period.
Boo to the flu! I'm so sorry you're dealing with that now. Honestly, the oseltamivir side effects are not bad - some nausea but honestly, nothing compared to first tri (granted, that's variable between mamas). Sure, it doesn't cut down on symptom days much (maybe 1 less day) but I'd take it even for that little benefit. I hope you're feeling better soon!
I'm not sure if I am nesting or just stressing over the fact that we will be putting our house on the market this summer after the baby is born, but I have been cleaning, sorting, and throwing things away like crazy today. DH keeps fussing at me to sit down and relax since we are on spring break this week and decided not to go anywhere for the sole opportunity for me to be able to relax and rest before the baby gets here. I can't sit still though because I know there is so much that still needs to be done.
Between yesterday and today, I washed and put away all the baby clothes we have so far. Man, sizes really do differ. I kind of just paired things up by actual size and have them stacked in increments, assuming we'll be able to start using anything in a particular stack at the same time, regardless of what the tag says. I even had 3-6 month and 6-9 month things from the same brand that were the same size. Makes no sense.

I'm hoping to wash everything this weekend once the nursery furniture is more in order and I can get to get to everything! Plus my mom is going to come over and help, which will be fun It'll also help to know what all we have and what we will still need clothes wise! I know we for sure need toiletries for both baby and me! We'll get there one day...hopefully before he arrives!

YOU GUYS!!!!!! maternity underwear is a thing and it is incredible! I can survive another 3 weeks and 5 days with the help if these things! Do yourself a favor and grab some! Clothes were making me cringe lately and these heavenly things make it so the bottom of my belly doesnt have uncomfortable pressure on it and theyre so soft!
Regarding the whole head down talk, the MW checked yesterday and she was all baby is head down! And I can feel an arm tucked in by his face! I'm like like no wonder I feel more pressure than usual these days.
Last pregnancy, my OB checked via U/S at 36 weeks. I think 36+ is when it's more of a concern that baby won't flip, but there is still a chance. I know there's a spinningbabies website that's supposed to be helpful in getting baby to flip the natural way.

Haha, I'm wearing my Gap maternity thong today (TMI!) and yes, it's lovely. I've been doing regular underwear, just sized up, but I do love this pair.
Thanks for all the support. @Louise_Belcher Glad you're okay. Plenty of time for baby to flip @vrj0522 So happy to hear baby flipped! @Jkp7749 I started wearing maternity underwear as soon as I popped.
@jayandaplus, Sorry to hear you have the flu! No wonder you've been feeling so miserable. @vrj0522, that's so great that baby's in the right position! @nda_roxybabe, I feel you on not being able to focus. I've been putting a sticky note in front of me that says "9:30 - 10:30 Work on X" and then focusing on only that thing for that time period. I'll do it for anywhere from 20 - 60 minutes chunks depending on the task. It helps, but it's still like having senioritis. And forget the afternoon - I'm totally exhausted after lunch.
My random: My coworkers threw me a surprise baby shower today and bought me a car seat and an 8 sided playpen from my registry! It was so sweet and thoughtful.

I have been meaning to bring this up my entire pregnancy. When I'm pregnant, I absolutely can't stand purified water. All of my water must be from the tap, fridge system, soda fountain machine, or bottled spring water. When I drink purified water, it feels like it doesn't quench my thirst. I was the same way when pregnant with DD and I had DH lug (on an elevator) Costco packs of Arrowhead to my office on the 33rd floor. Now I trek all the way across our building to get to the soda machine to fill up. Am I the only weird one who prefers swamp water?
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot We drink mostly tap water here so I don't find it weird. But if you preferred Houston nasty tasty tap water, then I'm gonna judge. I only care that mine doesn't smell swampy/mineral-y and that it has crushed ice in it. Otherwise, forget it.

Oh thank goodness I wasn't crazy! For the first about 20 weeks I could only drink purified water. So opposite of you. But tap just tasted so gross and didn't feel like it was quenching MY thirst.

Yes, I think you might be the oddball in this one!!! I am the opposite I can only drink bottled water, period. I'll gag on tap water.
Speaking of water I'm starting to think I am probably a little borderline anemic. I was just above the low end of normal on my 28 week labs. I have suddenly started looking forward to eating the ice in my glass once it gets nice and soft. Good thing is that it's making me drink more water! I guess I'm due for a steak!
I should clarify that I don't usually drink tap water. It's either bottled spring water, through the fridge, or through the pop machine. But I suspect there's no filter on the pop machine. Some part of town have bad water here, but I have no idea if that includes my part of town.
I think my FFWC is that I don't drink any of my drinks with ice (water, juice, soda). I will actually order them with no ice. DH is the opposite and he always orders my drinks with ice, which is annoying... 9 years later he still gets it wrong. I like them cold from the fridge just fine but I don't want ice in them.

Ick. No. Then again...ha! I was going to say the tap water in Phoenix is naaaasty, but um...
Anyways, purified for me please. My dog prefers the tap water over purified though, haha
Glad I'm not alone in my crazy pregger ice loving. I'm usually very anti-ice in my drinks and prefer everything room temp, but while pregnant I flip and crave all the ice in everything!
@jayandaplus sorry you have the flu. That's a total bummer.

I just saw on FB you can buy an ice machine that makes sonic ice for $500. Is it bad that I actually considered whether or not it may be worth it? The closest Sonic to me is 30 minutes away, so...

Ours is far away too. I could really go for a cranberry limeade with all that delicious sonic ice right about now...

@livin541 I told my husband it's the only acceptable pre-baby push present and he just laughed. I wasn't joking. We are also kind of far from a Sonic, but it's right across the street from my dr office- something to look forward to when appointments become weekly.
I've been training a coworker all week and just now got time to get one and catch up! Whew 7 pages!
I'm so glad I read all the way through this thread, I had no idea that the RnP wasn't considered safe any longer. DS hated being flat on his back from the moment he was born and after a few weeks of him only sleeping if I was holding him and our Pedi recommended the RnP and he slept great in it. We used it for nights and for naps until he was four months old. It took a couple weeks to transition him to the crib, we started with naps and then progressed to night time too. I was 100% planning on using the RnP this time too, but seriously reconsidering now.
I was also happy to read all the posts from the mama's getting ready to have second babies, most of you expressed the exact fears I've been having lately. I feel so guilty for having all these thoughts but I'm sure when I see DS interacting with his baby brother I'll feel much better. DH is an only child and hated it and I have to keep reminding myself of that. (Not that all only children do, but he wanted siblings so bad).
For a gift for DS I've been picking up things here and there for a busy bag at the hospital. Also planning on getting him a toy he's been asking non stop for as well as matching shirts for him and baby. We are also planning on a big brother party at the hospital with cupcakes and balloons.
Thanks to who ever posted the info about the Dates and the Raspberry Leaf Tea, I may have to give those a try.
My question is for STM+ has anyone been induced with one pregnancy and not with another? How did the labor and births compare? I was induced with DS because of my BP and had a long labor and a rough delivery which resulted in him being vacuumed out. Hoping things might be easier this time around if I can avoid being induced?
