@CherryBananas Now I am in desperate need of a slurpee. Gonna have to convince DH to get one. I had one yesterday courtesy of my dad when I was feeling yucky. They are sooo good!

I don't normally drink them but I had one the other night and now that's all I can think about. I was going to ask DH if we could stop for one on the way home from prenatal class tonight. What flavours do you like best? I'm obsessed with grape and cream soda mixed together lol.
Man. I want a slurpee now!! But I don't even know where I would get one. We don't have 7-11 around here which is the only place I've ever gotten one before. Tips/help?

@CherryBananas There is one with in 4 blocks of my house, but I actually don't get them often. My go to is usually the boring coke with a spot of cherry, but I love pina colada, creamsicle, and cream soda. Your mix sounds awesome!

We don't have those here either!! I live in a Slurpee desert!

Ahh! We don't have them here either so I feel your pain. I can't think of anything else besides a boring old gas station...

I'm in Canada so I'm probably not much help, but pretty much any gas station convenience store here has their own version of slurpees.
I really wanted an Icee last weekend and DH found it at Burger King. So random, I didnt know they had Icees. I love blue raspberry and cherry mixed. If I get a slurpee it has to be the pina colada one. Yummm.

Ooh yeah I think Target has ICEEs. I'll be in a city tomorrow with a sonic. I'll see if I can talk my clinical partner into lunch at Sonic. Or at least swing through for a slushy. I both love and hate you ladies for this fixation.
The frozen strawberry lemonade is a fav at Sonic. Mmm maybe I need to stop and get one later? I also love Diet Coke with white coconut syrup (I think someone said it's called a dirty Coke?). Soo good with the yummy sonic ice!
For the last 9 months I've been trying to justify the cost of a dock a tot. I finally just did it last night....after some baby shower gift cards it only cost me $50. I'm super excited for it! I've heard great things about traveling with it so right now that's my plan for our Europe trip in June.

Yes!!!! We have iced-caps bottled now too. I'll send you some of those as well.

Ahhh no way!!! I haven't been to Toronto or Canada in years but I love Timmys! It's on my list of places to stop at when we make our trip up to BC.

I used to work at sonic in high school and some of college. Here's my best sonic ice story:
One day I opened, so I had to be there at 5 AM. Well, the manager who would actually unlock the door had just gotten back from vacation and didn't know that he was supposed to open. I didn't have anyone's phone number to call, as I was sitting out in the parking lot on my own. Anyway, the bread delivery guy had the manager's phone number, and ended up getting ahold of him at around 630 or so. But then when the manager got there, apparently the alarm code had been changed while he was gone, and he hadn't been told. So, the alarm is going off, the manager is freaking out calling the owner, the bread guy is ranting about being late, and this car whips into the parking lot. Guy gets out and starts shouting "I need a bag of sonic ice!!!" We all look at him, "yeah, that's not happening right now" seriously dude? He goes "my wife is in labor and I can't go back there without sonic ice!!! I have to have ice now!!" So, the manager ran in and got him a bag of ice. People will do anything for a woman in labor
I hate all of you for your slurpees and sonic ice. Serious downfall of living in the middle of nowhere.
I also found out that my job is planning on throwing me a shower or party of some sort, as my coworker was asking me a million questions about whether she was coming early. My other coworker delivered four weeks early and actually was written out of work the day of her surprise shower. My coworker planning it basically said she wanted to make sure the same wouldn't happen to me and they were shooting for early May to celebrate the baby. Made me happy since work has been SO stressful lately.
I'm also munching down on the ice when I finish my water. It's like a little reward for putting down another tumbler.
Just curious, what is your average water intake during pregnancy.
I also love me some Sonic ice. I'm a fan of the Vanilla DP and blue Powerade slush. But I'm about to text DH and ask him to pick up a white cherry icee on his way home. All this talk is making me crave something sweet and cold.
Haven't had a slurpee since I was a teenager, but I may have to get one after all this talk. There's actually two on opposite sides of our apartment building. You can't throw a rock without hitting a 7-eleven here.
Breech babies are stressful. Mine finally turned but doc actually couldn't be sure without ultrasound because she's in a weird spot. Both of my kids have lived almost exclusively on my right side, it makes for weird lumps.
I hate cold drinks, ice is the worst. You all can have mine.
Please don't anyone use the term "the itis". Yes, the suffix Itis means inflammation but the term "the itis" in reference to being tired or feeling lazy is actually quite racist and inappropriate. I'll leave you to google it but definitely don't say that in public!
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot I agree with you on purified water. I was drinking a lot of Smart water in the beginning to replenish my electrolytes but the taste was always nasty and I had to switch to gaterade. I now like the tap water better but we have well water and I like that way better than chlorinated city water.
Whomever said they wanted an ice maker as a push present is genius. Love that idea!
clebl24, I drink about 96 ounces a day, so 3/4 of a gallon. The doctor said to drink 1 - 1.5 gallons a day, but I just can't quite get there. Some days I get closer than others.
I'm another one that doesn't like slurpees! I didn't get excited about any ice things when I was a kid (popcicles, slurpees, snow cones). Give me some real dessert.

Started labor and got steroid shot and shot to stop contractions. Didn't work but didn't progress past one cm so I'm home and sitting on pins and needles. She wants me to last until 37 which is not until next Wednesday. Praying he stays put a few days more but it isn't looking good as contractions are still coming regularly.
@jayandaplus I'm sorry you have the flu. DH tested positive last week so I had to get on prophylactic tamiflu. Neither one of us has had any side effects. DH was so much better the next morning and didn't have a fever. I hope it helps!
RE ICE: I'm starting to think almost all of the women on this board are slightly anemic Just joking, of course. A slush does sound really good right now.
RANDOM: My husband thinks I'm addicted to buying baby things. I mean maybe I am a bit, but when I find good deals I can't help it. I got a Baby K'tan wrap for $15 secondhand and a Chicco LiteWay stroller second hand for $37. I think I am going to keep telling myself he is a man and just doesn't understand!
@mamatowildones, good luck with him staying put! How are you feeling about everything? Did you have any signs that you might go into labor early before today?

@mamatowildones I hope your baby stays put as long as possible!
@clebl24 I'd say I drink 80 oz on a light day, and 100 oz on a normal day.
