Symptoms, Questions, and Concerns for 4/4-4/7

I know the symptoms thread is typically a "Saturday" thread but, I thought I would get us started until then and we can do a fresh one for next week this Saturday.

Hi mommas! How is everyone feeling? Any symptoms, questions, or concerns? Post them here! Let's talk!

Re: Symptoms, Questions, and Concerns for 4/4-4/7

  • I was just going to post this! Thanks. :)

I've been having some pretty gnarly heartburn the last couple days, which is something I usually don't struggle with. With my DD, I had it pretty severely the entire pregnancy. I was hoping I wouldn't have it this time around, but it looks like I won't be so lucky.

  • Omg the heartburn! I feel you there. I kinda had a feeling before I got my bfp because everyday at 130 I get this insane heartburn for like a good hour. Other than that feeling tired but great

Ugh- HB is the worst! I'm sorry! Did your DD have any hair at birth, by chance?
I know that is just one of "those things" **side eye** that people say, but I thought it was hilarious that DD came out with a crazy head of black hair and I had zero HB with her.
Hope you are feeling better soon!
  • I've been super nauseous since the night before my BFP.  With DS1, that didn't start until week 8 and it was pretty awful until week 22. I'm hoping it's a fluke and unrelated and I'll get a reprieval soon

  • @kbamomma33 My DD came out with the thickest head of dark, crazy hair! The US techs (and not even a 3D) guessed she'd have a ton of hair, because it was super visible. I had a ton of ultrasounds because of GD, so I don't remember how early/late it was... But it was a lot.

  • I've been having heart burn too! I had it pretty bad with my DS and he was born with a lot of hair, however it fell out pretty quickly and still hasn't filled in over a year and a half later! Also, having sore boobs.  Im definitely not complaining because having symptoms makes me feel better!
  • @TigerCakes My daughter's hair fell out too, but it grew back in a lot lighter. Now she's got a pretty decent head of hair. Almost long enough for a tiny ponytail!

  • @vvitchhazel my son's hair grew back lighter too! There's just not that much of it haha.  How old is your daughter?
  • @TigerCakes She will be 15 months on the 13th, so pretty close to your son's age!

  • breast soreness and cramping have been mild but it seems to be getting just a smidge stronger lately. Cramps feel like period cramps but still kind of mild, and breast soreness/fullness seems to be increasing slightly.

Oh, and going #2 has been a real problem.  :(

  • Speaking of breasts, I have noticed that mine are leakier than normal. I EBF until January and I still got the occasional let down sensation with a few droplets, but now it really seems like that's increased to the point where I'm getting wet spots on my shirts. Anyone else have this problem?

  • Nothing major symptom wise for me yet, which isnt surprising considering I'm only 3w5d. But if I think about it my milk supply is definitely lower (still BFing DS @ 14 months) and I am SO. DAMN. THIRSTY.  Its like there is not enough water in the world. We're talking like 3-4 litres a day, +1 overnight! Other than that, some bloating, extremely mild cramping (not even cramping, just like... aware of my uterus if that makes sense) and fatigue... So basically PMS symptoms haha if i hadn't POAS I would definitely think AF was on her way!

@peachy13 Colace it up!! Colace was my saving grace with my DD. I can't remember when I started taking it, but when I did I was like, " Where have you been all my life, colace?!" I took it daily for most of my entire pregnancy after that. I plan to start taking it again as soon as there is a hint of an issue this time because ain't nobody got time for that.

Re: milk supply- I'm still nursing DD, but just at bedtime so I don't have anywhere near enough to be leaking or anything like that. I've definitely noticed a decrease in supply the past week or so. I think it's pretty much a comfort thing for her at this point, and I'm hoping to wean her totally ASAP.

Guys, I really haven't had any symptoms the past two days. I know this is normal and it happened with DD too, but I still can't help but have all the worries. :frowning:

@kvacmak I'm SO thirsty too. Give me all the water.
  • @kbamomma33 Same here. I'm obsessing over the fact that I feel like my symptoms have really faded. Not peeing as much, the slight nausea I had went away, no more headaches. It's still so early and I'm pretty sure my symptoms started a bit later with DD, but I'm really getting in my head about it. I actually just peed on an HCG strip, which I know is absurd. My OB doesn't do betas or anything, so I guess I'll just stick it out until May 1 when my first appt is.  :|

  • @kvacmak @kbamomma33 YES! With the water! Oh man. I've been chugging water like its going away! I upped my water intake following my Egg Retrieval two weeks ago, due to mild OHSS, but was finally back down to normal until the last two days.

It's not a symptom, but I've got awful sinus pressure/nasal drainage. It's awful because I know that it's just allergies, but I can't take anything for it, and I can't really tell anyone at work why I'm not taking anything, so everyone thinks I'm sick and is avoiding me. :(

Hopefully all goes well at my BETA tomorrow, and I start to feel some symptoms other than what feels like PMS (mild cramping, bloating, and sore boobs).

  • Minimal symptoms here.

I had heartburn leg cramps and implantation bleeding before I found out.

Now just tired and back pain. Don't usually get Morning sickness til 6-7 weeks though.

I have terrible allergies and my doctor told me Benadryl is ok. I took it during most of my pregnancy with DD and had no issues. I can't take it during the day, but if I take it before bed, it will help through the next day.

I feel you, I totally POAS again this morning! I feel silly worrying about something I have no control over, now I'm worrying about worrying too much!! lol motherhood is going to be a trip! My symptoms are pretty mild too overall. One thing I've definitely noticed is that I have SUPER smell now, I feel like a hound dog or something!

@vvitchhazel Aw, totally not absurd that you peed on a HCG strip. I'm with you! I thought going through all the weird symptom stuff with DD would make me ultra chill about this pregnancy. Hi, nope. Still obsessing and worrying about all the things.
  • Peeing on a stick is a daily thing for me as well! So thankful for dollar store cheapies so I don't feel bad about wasting money.

No real symptoms here yet. I'll be relieved when they start!

  • I'm with you ladies on being tired. I've napped more over the last week than ever before - luckily our spring break is next week and I'll get to sleep in, too!

@kvacmak & @vvitchhazel I've been POAS every morning because my lines were SO faint. Thankfully this morning's is looking more solid. I told my best friend last night and it just feels so more real that someone IRL (other than DH, of course) knows too :)

  • Reading these makes me want to run to the store to buy some and pee on them! I'm trying not to overly stress myself about it because after last time I'm scared that if I go do it, its going to be negative. My symptoms besides being tired have all subsided so we will see.

  • @vvitchhazel I made the mistake of eating vinegar last night and it was my nail in the coffin before bed.

@peachy13 I hear ya with the boobs.  The worst!  I had some pretty bad cramping which turned out to be gas.  I guess there are going to be a lot of new and exciting? things happening to me over the next 9 months.

@kbamomma33 and @vvitchhazel I have noticed symptoms coming and going as well. I am trying my darndest to stay off google.  I fall down some pretty dark rabbit holes on there!

@kmallery08 and @ameliabedelia-2I stopped my allergy regimen.  THe WORST! AN acquaintance said all of her allergies went away with her pregnancy.  FX! I didn't know about the benedryl.  Good to know.  I have the worst allergies and asthma too.

I've been peeing on my leftover OPKS just to smile at those dark lines.  As far as symptoms just really sore breasts, a touch of nighttime heartburn and cramps.  I was actually very nervous of the cramps because of my ectopic history and dr said it's probably old scar tissue shifting around.

  • I ran out of dollar store ones.  I have 2 frers left but saving them for some reason..LOL.

  • @justsuzie I hear you on those dark rabbit holes. That's what I was doing, obsessively, before this BMB was available. A friend from my previous BMB said something that has helped me relax a little. "If, god-forbid, something happens, you will cross that bridge when you get there but for now, you are pregnant and every day, that little baby is growing!!" I don't know if that will help you, especially AL, but it is reminding me to stay present and not focus on the what if's.
