I chopped all my long beautiful hair off during in a stupid a-line cut in the beginning of my first pregnancy and have regretted it ever since. It's finally getting longer but it's nowhere near where it used to be I had to chop it super short to even it out. Here's a pic when I got it evened out. Don't mind my awkward face... it was a last second selfie I sent to my sister lol...
Guys, one of my very best friends from 6th grade through high school just had her baby girl yesterday morning. But she was due May 2nd! Baby girl is 4lbs 4oz! The doctors say she looks good but she's still adjusting to life outside the womb! My friend pushed her out in SEVEN MINUTES!! Whaaat? She's a beautiful tiny little lady. She needs some good vibes as she adjusts!
@wyomama0427 Wow, 7 minutes?! Is is bad that my first thought was that I hope she has any semblance of bladder control after that? I'm glad her DD is doing well! Lots of prayers for them as they adjust!
@wyomama0427 February 2016 i chopped 10 inches off my hair to between chin and shoulder length...it is now back down below my shoulders to around bra line. My hair grows obnoxiously fast. So I chop and do whatevs and if it is horrible I'll cry and then rapunzel my way out of it. It's strange. and I am so glad your friend's baby is okay!!
Dress shopping is my arch nemesis. I know everyone thinks being tall is oh so wonderful but let me just say, when you're 5'11", dresses are never the right length. okay, that is all. Rant over.
@wyomama0427 I hope you're friends baby does okay... sounds like the Drs are optimistic!

I had what I call The Pixie Cut Disaster of 2011. It took me four years to really get my hair back to something I liked. I'm so afraid I'll hormonally cut of all my hair after the baby comes, and then spend years trying to get my hair back!
My friend just made a picture of her natural water birth her Facebook cover photo. It's the picture of them handing her her baby for the first time. She's in just a sports bra, baby is naked and still covered with goop, and you can clearly tell she's still sitting in bloody water with bits of stuff floating in it. I just...I just don't get people. Is it a great picture to have of a beautiful moment between a mom and her child? Yes. But to make it the first thing someone sees when they visit your Facebook page? Uhhhhhh...no. Just no.
I guess my uo or fffc is that I don't see anything wrong with this photo. But hey, I'm also cool with bfing photo shoots and bfing uncovered in public.
@mrs_tacos I had the great hair catastrophe of 2010. I fried my hair with dye and the only solution was to butcher it all off into almost a pixie. DH has ptsd about it and is scared whenever i say I'm cutting my hair. That took almost 2 years to recover from bc there was sooo much damage.
On the haircut trend.. I cut my hair SO SHORT when I was pregnant with DD. I will never make a pregnancy decision like that again. Growing it out was a BITCH. I haven't even colored my hair in the past 3.5 years.
If we are talking about hair catastrophes. I accidentally had the stylist cut off all of my hair 2 weeks before my wedding. Apparently, I wasn't clear about how much I wanted her to cut off. It actually turned out okay, but I spent a few days crying because I thought I had ruined my wedding photos forever.

Same here! My DH is so scared every time I go into get a haircut. A few months after we started dating, I donated 10 inches to Locks of Love. I went from hair almost to my waist, to shoulder height. And it wasn't even a nice haircut. It only took about a year and a half to grow back, but he always envisions that when I say I need a haircut.
@cmar1006 your hair looks so healthy Is that because of no dye or just luck of the draw? Mine is super dry and frizzy lately. I thought pregnant hair was supposed to be amazing.

I actually have no problem with BFing in public, but I'm still not going to post a picture where my nipple is sticking out on the internet. I have no problem with this picture existing or being shared with family and friends, I just think Facebook or Instagram is an inappropriate place for floating afterbirth.

That was a good hair day! 90% of the time it doesn't look like that unless I style it. But yes, not having any color on it is definitely a benefit! I keep up with my trims so the dead ends don't destroy it. I love having low maintenance hair.
I am so terrified to cut my hair short. I feel like the way my face is shaped anything above shoulder length is a no go. But I'm totally envious of yall who can rock those pixie cuts.
@Cats*in*space that haircut looks great on you! I had a stylist chop my hair off and I hated it for probably a year. It took 3 years to grow it out and fix it. Side note- I cut my hair in a bob above my shoulders after my first wedding. I loved it and it looked great. We were divorced shortly after that and my mom asked me if I thought it was because of my hair lol.
@mrs_tacos coconut oil works great as a natural hair treatment. I used it all the time and I love what it's done for my hair.
I am mildly allergic to coconut, and coconut oil makes my skin itch.
Have you tried avocado oil? It works just as great as coconut oil. I like to switch them up and use both for my hair. They make it much softer and easier to handle.
On the topic of hair care, I really wish someone would have educated me on curly hair when I was younger. I first would brush it like everyone else, and then I fried it by straightening it every day. It wasn't until about a year ago that I finally decided to educate myself on how to go natural and embrace my curls. And don't get me started on hairdressers. I went to one about four months ago who claimed she cut curly hair. She had no idea what sulfate free shampoo was, how to diffuse my hair, why I almost snapped when she turned the blow dryer on high heat, and looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her not to straighten my hair. Plus she asked if wrapping my hair in a t-shirt was a new fad. Ugh, why aren't hairdressers actually educated on hair??
@mrsmarygs some of us are and some of us aren't. Beauty school doesn't typically teach anything about cutting curly hair. I got lucky and my first instructor was an amazingly talented black woman with natural hair. Curly hair often gets treated like a specialty.
@lilpoots I wasn't meaning to paint all of you with the same brush, just expressing my frustration. It's surprising that they wouldn't teach about curly hair in beauty school since I've read up to 55% of women have a type of curly hair. You would think that a majority would get more attention.
@mrsmarygs I'm not offended. I honestly think we don't really learn anything significant about hair, orher than chemical processes, in school. The first year as a licensed stylist is the true learning experience. There are exceptions, like apprenticeships. Some of the very expensive schools are better.
@mrsmarygs I won't get my hair cut unless the stylist also has curly hair. Straight hair people just don't get it in my experience and since I go natural about 360 days a year, I need someone who can cut curly hair.
Re: Weekly Randoms 3/27
okay, that is all.
Rant over.

I ate this. It was good.
When do kids first start to grasp the idea of personal space? My 2 year old is driving me a bit nuts.
