Re: Weekly Randoms 3/27

  • @cmar1006 @labby18. I literally have to move my "sleeping arm" with my other hand because it's completely immobile.

  • Ugh.  This is gonna sound so dumb.  I am not a side sleeper normally.  And now that I am, my arms keep falling asleep so I have to toss from side to side.  Am I doing it wrong?   I usually sleep on my back and barely move through the night.  I'm so tired. :bawling:
Do you have a body pillow? I've found that sleeping in between back and side with a pillow propped under my back seems to help. Also folding my pillow in half so that my head is a little more propped up helps take the pressure off my shoulders and my arms don't fall asleep as often.
But....now my hips are starting to hurt. Ugh.

  • I have a lot of catching up to do. How has everyone been?
  • @mrsmarygs my MIL gave me a boppy thing, which Ive only used once.  but I found it weird because when I changed sides I had to bring the whole pillow with me.... But maybe I was doing that wrong too, haha

  • @margareth I've been eating Chipotle this pregnancy. It's so yummy. I believe the e.coli issues were over a year ago. I haven't heard anything since then so I don't worry about it.

Sleeping when you're pregnant just sucks. I am a belly sleeper normally, which is uncomfortable now. I use a body pillow and sleep on my side now. I toss and turn all night flipping from side to side and dragging that huge pillow with me. It's my hips that hurt most. And then once baby is bigger you will finally get comfortable and then need to pee 437 times per night anyway. You can't win.

  • @bridge-and-wall that's not cool. I'm sorry someone said that to you. I'm sure you look great!
  • @wyomama0427 I guess at least she said pregnant and not fat or huge.

@labby18 Good that he doesn't have to go to all the school events. Maybe he can get some down time. It's nice to be able to pass some work off to the new guys.

  • @bridge-and-wall  he's sleeping lol.
  • @kelseyrayay Yay! So glad you're feeling better.

@wyomama0427 Woo hoo for sleeping through the night!

  • @bridge-and-wall maybe she meant it in a good way but it came out wrong? My sister was always such an ass and she'd always call me "fatty". It was very hurtful. I hope in the future she's more thoughtful
  • @wyomama0427 That is ridiculous. Your sister has no right to say stuff like that. I'm sure that this person meant it in a nice way (everyone here knows I'm pregnant), but I'm overweight anyway and particularly sensitive about my stomach being large. If someone called me "fatty" right now, I'd collapse in a pool of tears. I just don't get why people feel the need to comment about anyone else's size.

  • piggybacking off of @labby18 's post.  What's the deal with dying my hair?  I'm generally a boxed color person (cause holy hell that sh*t is expensive at a salon).  Is whole head coloring OK?  I've heard highlights are fine, but wasn't sure about the full color.

  • @cats*in*space I think you're good with the whole noggin, but i think you gotta test it because apparently our hair can be super different with color now...that's why I'm going with high lights. (i got a groupon so it wasn't so pricey)
  • @labby18 Changing your hair is always so fun and exciting! I'm sure it will look fantastic!

  • @cats*in*space I always thought it was fine with proper ventilation but I also don't do anything with my hair.
  • @bridge-and-wall That has been my day today too. Three people have pointed out how much my belly has "popped" now.
  • @labby18 oh, like hair will take the color differently?  That's weird....  :|

  • @LosAngelesMama  THANK YOUU! DH asked me to try to let my natural hair color grow out...ain't nobody got time for that. I'm just ready to chop it back up to just shoulder length ish and freshen the color. Ever since I moved from my hometown (5 years ago) and left my hair stylist, I get really nervous going to a new place.

yeah that's what i've heard. because of all the crazy hormones and stuff. i've also heard that for some you might not hold the color as well.
  • @labby18 My cousin used to cut my hair. He passed away a few years ago. I still get nervous going to someone else for a haircut. I always go way too long between cuts.

  • @labby18 About four years ago I decided to chop off all my hair (also shoulder length) and dye it close to my natural color so that when it started growing out you couldn't tell the difference. My hair was pretty damaged and I wanted it to be healthy and long again. So now 4 years later I have my natural hair color/super long hair and I love it. But I do miss all the fun colors/highlights!

But enjoy your new look. I'm kind of jealous! and I hope your hair stylist does a great job. Share pictures if you can!

  • @LosAngelesMama  most of my hair is my natural color actually because I matched it before, but it's getting dull and I will do a before and after picture for sure.
  • I want to see before and after too! You will look fabulous!!
  • @Cats*in*space  I refuse t give up my color! I'm going a full head of deep blue next week. Keeping really harsh products, like bleach or harsher hair lighteners, off your scalp, and ventilation are the biggest issues from everything I've researched. And fwiw, this will be the second time I've dyed my hair since I got pregnant, and my hair might actually be holding color better than before. My biggest worry is that my hair seems to be drier, so I'm conditioning more than before, using a leave-in conditioner, and I'm going to have my hair lady do a moisture mask before she puts the color on.

  • @mrs_tacos coconut oil works great as a natural hair treatment. I used it all the time and I love what it's done for my hair.

I am mildly allergic to coconut, and coconut oil makes my skin itch. :(

  • @mrs_tacos oh no. NM the suggestion then!
