We're having a boy and I am pretty deadset on Gabriel. My husband isn't on board yet. He doesn't like the nickname "Gabe". I don't like it either, but I'm fine with enforcing the full name at home and leaving the nn to chance with his peers.
@mamaofthegarden I love the use of maiden names as names/middle names. My maiden name doesn't work, but I wish it did. One of my friends named her daughter Landin (her maiden name) and I just loved it!

Middle name will be my maiden name.
DD has my maiden name as her middle name. It is a bit of an unusual name, and not very "namey" but my dad has all sisters and my brother has all girls, so nobody left to carry on the name. I love the tradition.
Sometimes I wonder who comes up with these lists. Maybe it's just me but I don't think the word "dominate" is the appropriate term for many of them.

Agreed! This may end being a UO, but I find it so weird when people use a name that's very clearly from one language/ethnicity but they have no connection to it. Like how can Moana "dominate" when there are only so many people of Hawaiian descent? Disney reference aside, I would feel like such a fraud naming a kid Moana or Koa.
I have my maiden name as my middle name now! I love it. I would actually name my son it, as it is a recent characters first name in a popular Disney movie from the past few years.

So DH and I have been kinda joking around about names, but one thing I joked about I kinda really like. But is it too cheesy? And also, this is assuming we have two girls. Who knows!
Rosalie and Lillian or Rosie and Lily for NN.
DH is Filipino and both names are very common in Filipino culture.
DD is Giselle and we just call her Giselle or Zellie.
Omg you guys. Me and my SO cannot have a serious conversation about baby names to save our lives. We always end up turning it into a joke of the most silly names we can think of. (Yesterday he exclaimed that if it is a girl she will be named Sassafras and Tiddlywinks if it is a boy.)
I think I like the name Fiona for a girl. SO really likes the name Magnus if it is a boy. I'm not sure what I think. Naming kids is hard.
@cmar1006 I get why you would think it's cheesy but I love it and think it's really cute. Perfect for twin girls. I say if you and DH like it, go with it!
We're team green this time. We found out with DD but, even before we knew she was a girl we agreed instantly on the name - Lucy - and couldn't for the life of us think of a boys name we liked. Now...being team green...we can only agree on a boy's name - Duncan. Maybe a sign that this babe's a boy? If it's a girl DH likes Stevie or Maggie, I like Piper or Maggie. Which seems like Maggie should be our name but, there's just something that's holding me back from committing. So tough!!
@saraawlbr Lucy is my girl name. It was my grandma's name. Great choice. We've discussed Stephanie (Stevie) after my dad if we have a second girl, but that's getting way ahead of ourselves as we don't even know the sex of this one. I like Maggie, too. I think it's a great name. Classic.
@bridge-and-wall we've gotten so many compliments on Lucy's name. Everyone loves it. Definitely no regrets. You hit the nail on the head with Maggie...it's definitely classic and that's why I like it. And probably why I'm leaning more towards it than Stevie or Piper which are more trendy. Middle name would be Maude. Maggie Maude...it's kinda cute!
Ughh. So DH's best friend basically big brother's sister just had their baby....aaaand they named their daughter Katherine Anne. The ONLY girl name option DH and I have ever agreed on is...Katherine Ann. I usually have no shame with name stealing, but they are like family, so it'd be like 2 cousins with the EXACT name despite the letter "E"...a little too strange.
@sugarpixxie2 unfortunately no, DH hasn't seen them since October when they had JUST announced their pregnancy and I was 7wks with my prev loss. And we hadn't discovered this name until like 4wks ago,. They were team green and kept their name ideas under wrap, and we haven't told anyone except for TB about our name idea. So it literally is a coincidence.
