@PoeMasque -yay for trigger shot tonight!!! they gave me a dose of extra strength tylenol (1000mg, i think?) about 10-15 min before the retrieval. Afterwards, I woke up with period-like cramps, but nothing too bad. now the (relatively) mild cramps i'm getting in my abdomen are from being bloated and (tmi?) possibly constipated/gassy....it's so fun... But, I have switched over to Advil cause i find that works better, and since I'm doing a FET it wasn't important to stay on tylenol this whole week...good luck!
@FuzzyDust - The genetics lab I'm using is affiliated (i guess?) with Good Start Genetics. (Something like, Good Start was the lab that ran the initial blood work that diagnosed me as a single gene disorder carrier, they then referred me to RGI in Chicago to coordinate the PGD test set-up.) RGI said that Good Start is covering 1 testing round on up to 12 embryos, but that it was also $200 per embryo over that. I wonder if that's the going rate? It's kind of crazy!! (DH and I had decided that we would pay for up to 5 extra embryos if we had that many to be biopsied, but we only had 10 fertilized, so I guess it's a moot point now...)
Day 5 transfer tomorrow morning! I am so excited but it's been a very stressful day, so I'm happy it's time for bed.
I had my last pre-transfer acupuncture this morning and we just checked into our hotel (my prison for the next 2 days...bed rest )
All 5 of my embryos made it and look healthy so far! They put in 2 tomorrow!
I've already started eating pineapple core and wearing 2 pairs of socks! Lol anything helps!
Good luck ladies!
Me: 34
TTC: 40 months Me: endometrial polyps and most recently diagnosed with polypoid endometrium. Mild endometriosis. AMH 4.5. FSH 9.2. TSH 8.5 (recently started synthroid) Everything else normal. @qsmadd - yay!! so exciting! how are you feeling bloat-wise from after the retrieval? hopefully much better! FX and can't wait to hear how the transfer goes!
@hopeful_mom Welcome. I am so sorry for your loss. You are very brave for jumping right back in again and I hope this cycle is the one for you. I am also currently stimming – tonight will be night #3. It is my second ER cycle. The first resulted in 3 eggs/ 3 fertilized with ICSI and 1 made it to freeze but tested abnormal. I am41 and my AMH is .22.
In regards to multiples, I also had dreams of carrying twins but my RE strongly advised against transferring more than one and suggested that our chances of a live birth is higher with a single. I was disappointed but we will take what we can get and ideally we will have more than one frosty to transfer another later on.
@poemasque I didn’t need painkillers after my first ER. I didn’t need anything but sleep. GL tomorrow!!

I am sooooo sick of needles!!! I thought I was done after ER. Turns out I just wasn't absorbing the progesterone suppositories well enough, so now I am doing PIO. I tried to let DH do it, but I just got too freaked out with the idea of someone else jabbing me. I'm doing it on my own. This morning I went for a blood draw. For some reason it hurt more than usual, and I have just had it! Both my thighs and my right butt are sore because of the PIO. A big chunk of my right thigh is numb because I hit a nerve or something. Now my right arm hurts too. I can't even sit comfortably at work! Between the shots we had to take for stim, now the PIO, and the who-knows-how-many blood draws. I feel like skewered meat.
It's so frustrating to have all these crazy hormones, needles everywhere, and the never ending waiting periods. My phone is at its highest ring setting to make sure I don't miss any calls. Waiting to start stim, waiting for follicles, waiting for ER, waiting for numbers, waiting for day 5, waiting for genetics, waiting for every blood test result, waiting for ET, now waiting for beta.
I know some of you ladies have gone through this process more than once. You are all truly incredible. I never thought I would be here in your ranks, but I suppose this is true of most of us. Well, now that we're here, I am very very glad to have all of you with me.
@caseyw8784 I'm so dreading the wait you're in now, I'm also super impatient like you. I'm planning on a lot of napping to make the time go by faster! Just sleeping through the whole wait would be nice!
AFM, today will be day 4 of stims, I had a check yesterday, 7 measurable, 15, 13, 13 and some 11s. They had me start the ganirelex yesterday (isn't day 3 of stims early for that?) and upped my follistim to 400.
Me: 36 DH: 34 TTC our first together since Aug 2015 MC 4/2016 and 8/2016 IUI #1-3 with Clomid - BFNs IUI #4-6 with Follistim - BFNs IVF March, (6R, 5M, 4F, 2 sent for PGS, 1 normal girl) FET May 1st, Beta #1-73, Beta #2-150, Beta #3-708
Popping back in to check to see how everyone is doing! @caseyw8784 FX for good results and hope you are well! @laurad75 I'm back in for round #2 ER too... just got word no change in protocol and am in my prep month. Start meds sometime around the 1-3rd. Right back at it actually has me very positive and ready to go! @PoeMasque GL! Positive thoughts for great results! @QsMadd GL today!!!
AFM, they were able to biopsy and freeze the 1 (ONE! Happy for one out of 3 to grow out to day 5) from ER#1 on Tuesday during Stella. The review decided they only think we need ICSI for better results and will have me on the exact same protocol as Cycle #1. Yay for being familiar with all the meds, prep and how my body reacts to them! DH is STOKED he won't have to worry about what I will be like round 2 hahah. So, right back to the Climara patch and Cetrotide from the 1-5-ish of April (or til AF arrives again) and then FX that it is only 10-12 days of stimming this time. I went til the morning of CD14 before they had me trigger and, that was enough for my liking....eesh.
Will keep stopping by to check in and see how everyone is doing. I am also over on the April IVF board as well with some of the early cycle ladies from this board who are moving on as well...
GL peeps! Oh, Boston peeps, keep me posted on your BWH successes
@lizycs - *HUGS* You think you can't do it anymore, and then the end is near, just to turn the corner and see that there is still ways to go. We're here for you I HATE needles. I have to ask the phlebotomist to unfold the chair each time so that I could lay down, since I often feel dizzy and can slide down the chair if I'm sitting up straight during blood draw. The hardest part of ER for me was putting an IV in. All I wanted was MY BODY BACK. After ER I developed ohss and went back to check up. I thought I was done with needles, but they sent me to do more blood work. This process truly sucks, and it also comes with out of wack hormones, so dealing with it emotionally is sorta handicapped. But we do it, because of the hope of that end prize. I told my husband that I don't even want to do a round of IVF ever again, but now that it's been over a week since last needle, I realize that if we don't get any good embryos after the genetic tests, of it they don't "stick", I will do it gain.
What helped me a lot if writing letters to future me. To the me that's done with needles, or even me years ahead who already has children. It makes this situation less hopeless, reminds us that this is temporary.
Hugs again

kris031409 wow you're off to a nice start so early on! I did Estrogen priming this round to hopefully get more, today she saw a few, largest at 9 and the rest all under 6. You're doing really nicely!
@laurad75 thank u, I'm old and feel like i dont have a choice You'l laugh I wish I was able to start feb 1..I was so super ready and positive...having to wait for my beta to come back negative took its toll a bit. I feel like we're on the same journey so you feel my pain for sure! I dont know how long you've been TTC. But that whole 40 is the new 30 just doesn't mean the same thing if you have low amh! So you're doing PGS? My RE felt it wasn't necessary the first try especially with the just 3. Usually they say the abnormal dont stick. I'm happy to know at least one of them was normal, angry she didn't hold on through the MC, but they said I was too far along and my body was going through too much. The testing is a very hard thing for me to give in to. The Dr explained it so well yet I'm still so nervous about it. I really want multiples, but my OH is more against it then the DR. I lost a lot of blood during my MC so I get why hes nervous...but yet I still want to try.
cmiller73 Are you banking your eggs before FET? I feel like I need to be on both boards too since I might be doing the same.
lizycs well said, and congrats on being such a hero and wanting to jab yourself
Angelaag your numbers look great, hope those follies keep growing together!
@caseyw8784 hey thanks for the warm welcome Best of luck, hoping you will have some great news to update us with! And it is true RE dont like to disturb the embabies, I know I got a 2 day update since they were looking to do a 3 day transfer. Are you doing PGD & PGS? The waiting is part of the reason I dont want to do the testing.
@HottLemonade2886 - you said it sista! IF SUCKS!! I'm so sorry you had such a crazy cycle, so disheartening for sure! Your body did respond well so it probably wise to do the same protocol. I changed my protocol and did even worse so you never know. I feel like many times the husbands dont truly get what we have to go through, but i have a feeling yours is getting it way more! As for the twins my RE said if I didn't do testing then they would only put 2 not the 3 like last time, however they think its in my best interest to only do one. The fact that there is no reason for the MC makes it tougher. I had an US the morning of my MC so I think seeing 2 healthy babies..so we thought, strong heartbeats, babies measuring ahead of schedule makes it hard to understand the what the hell happened!! The attitude is ONE healthy baby at a time. AND i think its cause I was so close to really having it I feel my body wants to do it, u know?
AFM: I went in for an US today and it's my 3rd day of stemming technically since it was this morning. I was happy to hear that I had 2 on the right and 3/4 on the left...now I'm hoping they all stick around and grow together!! I've had disappearing follies in the past so i think i'm just nervous about the whole thing. Hitting double digits is a long shot for me but a girl can dream can't she

@caseyw8784 well got a call today, only 3 look good...I feel so discouraged...it only took 1 day for 3 to fall out of the race, what the hell am I gunna have after 2 more days?! Praying hard that these little guys are fighters
@hopefulmom (psst: I am old too ) hehehe. We did what my team calls a 'biopsy batch and freeze' or something... they felt just take the cells for PGS and send to lab to store til we go through this next cycle and hopefully have more to send down before ACTUALLY doing the testing. Increasing the probability for getting back a (FX) few normal embryos for the FET (and FX) possible future FET(s).
I get it. I mean, I tried to explain to DH that as cold (no pun intended FET peeps) as it seems, there is a "cost vs. risk" part of this whole IF drama. And while the cost of PGS is only a small portion of total cost, if you are paying for up to 8 embryos... and will be doing another ER cycle anyway: 1. why wait the 2 weeks to get testing back from just one embryo and lose the time to be able to go into another ER cycle at my age (43)... why lose time? 2. why not immediately cycle again and in (for me now that I am on AF D4 of prep cycle) 35 more days potentially have more to up the probability of having one test normal?
@caseyw8784 as far as the rate for PGS, the lab we are using is in NJ (ReproGenetics or something like that?) and the cost covered testing of up to 8 embryos with a $450 charge for each additional. I'd say your company is very well priced!
@Rachel_leigh22 - oh, that stinks that a couple have fallen off...FX that the remaining ones make it!
@Hopeful_mom - yes, we are doing both PGD and PGS testing. If we had our way, we wouldn't be doing either, especially cause we are still considered "young" so our RE would probably have said that we don't need PGS done. (Technically, we wouldn't have needed IVF to begin with ) We are doing PGD to figure out which embryos are affected by a single gene disorder (i'm a carrier) which has a 50% chance of being passed down. So, knowing that 50% of our embryos "statistically" will be eliminated is a hard pill to swallow, and then the PGS will determine which of the remaining batch are chromosomally normal, which i think my RE said that statistically 70-75% should be normal...
@cmiller73 - I'm hoping that the $200 per extra embryo is my lab's (RGI in Chicago) standard for all tests! This cycle of testing is being generously covered (up to 12 embryos...i have 10 growing at the moment so i know we don't have to worry about any extras) by Good Start Genetics since they have some program for people that have genetic conditions and need the testing to be able to have children. If we have to do a second round of IVF and subsequent testing, we know that my insurance will cover the testing for up to 8 embryos (i believe), so on the off chance round #2 has more than 8 embryos to biopsy, it hopefully would still be $200 per extra embryo...
@fuzzydust I said the same thing to my husband, that I never want to do this again. But now that I'm a week past all those shots and I've pretty much recovered from the abdominal egg retrieval, if this cycle doesn't work out I would do another round of IVF.
Its true. IF is tough. It's emotionally and physically draining.
AFM, I'll get an update from the lab tomorrow to find out how many of the 9 embryos made it to day 5. I'll also find out if we're freezing everything or transferring 1.
Im reading a lot of desires for multiples. Is anyone else transferring just one?
@SugarHead - just shows how resilient people really are We quickly forget just how bad we felt after the struggle is over. I think the intellectual memory remains, but the actual feeling of total desperation is harder to re-call anymore. We're planning on only transferring one (FET). Before starting IVF we considered a shot at twins, and I think my husband is still entertaining the idea. But during the cycle I decided that I wouldn't purposely attempt to have more than one at a time - all this medical stuff is already way overwhelming, and the less intense I can have it, the better. There is also a chance that the one embryo can split and still result in twins - this the the only risk of multiples I'm willing to take Also, my clinic wouldn't put more than 1 at a time for women under 35 who haven't had a failed cycle yet.

Thank you all for the well wishes! ET went well this morning. They transferred 2 nice looking blastocysts. One was a grade 4 and the other a 3. Both looked very healthy with very little fragmentation on day 3 (from what I was told).
There was a little fluid in my uterus, so they had to aspirate it (which was very uncomfortable). I also ended up having to drink a total of 46 oz (!!) of water to get my bladder filled up enough....I asked for a bed pan 15 minutes after we were done since I wasn't allowed to get up for an hour afterward. Oh well! I had to pee!
My husband really wants twins while I just want one. Since I have such crappy endometrium, we transferred two in the hopes one is strong enough against my lining.
@caseyw8784 I am still bloating occasionally but it is also because I had some constipation during the week. Every time I ate, I would bloat up. By this morning, I was feeling 90% better. They told me the bloating will continue for awhile, so I hope I get used to it soon!
@Rachel_leigh22 I hope the rest of them hang on! It is so hard to hear that some fall out so soon, but stay strong!
@fuzzydust@SugarHead I have also said numerous times that I wanted to never do this again and I would need a very long break after this if it didn't work. BUT, now that I know what it involves and how much money we would be saving doing everything as soon as we can this year (my insurance deductible and out of pocket have been met, so I will pay 0$ for everything here on out), it is tempting to get back into it again. My RE said he would definitely do the MyoSure procedure on me immediately before starting the next cycle, so I would have at least a 1 month break, perhaps 2.
Keep your heads up ladies! March is halfway over and hopefully spring pops up soon!

@SugarHead -such a weird phase! Was your transfer today? It's so hard not to think constantly about "what my embryos are u to in there..."

@LoveDontCostAThing nah, my transfer is suppose to be tomorrow. Unless 3 or fewer make it, then we'll freeze and tackle the fibroids. I won't find out if I go in for the transfer or not until tomorrow morning. I'm hoping for good news!
AFM, I thought today was trigger day with ER Saturday. Nope. Pushed to Saturday for trigger. 18, 16, 15, 14, 12, 12, 11, 11, 11, 9, 9. Dr. wants to try to get the 12s and 11s to catch up. ER is now Monday. I am an attorney with a trial starting on Tuesday. I almost broke down crying. But I got over it quick hoping my little follies will catch up and all will be worth it. It's so hard to not stress...
@SugarHead -Hoping for good news for you tomorrow! How many are still going strong?
@Angelaag -great numbers! similar to mine! Tell the judge that your embryos are on trial!!!

@HottLemonade2886 (and maybe @cmiller73 from forever ago?) Unfortunately, the results from my first IVF at the beginning of last month (12R, 7M, 3F, 0B) were similar...although I ended up with no blasts on days 5/6. We were a little surprised that they were *quite* that bad as we *TW* got pregnant naturally our second month trying (and first one temping) last July and carried our deceptively NIPT-normal little girl to 11w5d.
i am sorry about the added complication of your DH's sperm issue. Our issue I suspect is more my age/egg quality. The last cycle was antagonist, but trying lupron down reg this time and since I had to wait to ovulate should start stimming for that a few days before you (I think). I also have herniated discs - I love the idea of twins (I am one), but one will be enough physically and the risks (if I have a choice in the matter) are too high for me at this age.
Also, I like your encouraging embryo affirmations

@Hopeful_Mom That is so awful that you had a MC the day of your US. I can't imagine how you must feel. I'm sorry for your loss! FX it all goes well this time.
I'm on day 6 of stimming. I had no clue I would be this tired! About an hour or two after the shot, it's nap time LOL. And holy mouth drought! I am so thirsty all the time. I didn't know about these symptoms.
@lizycs I totally understand and it's OK to vent! I'm sure I will be frustrated with the PIO shots too. My doc wanted me to take my stim shots in the morning so when I see them, the last shot will have been in my system longer. If I had known I would be this tired, I would have done my best to talk them out of it. They will only draw blood again just before the trigger shot so I'm not getting poked as much as you ladies are. For me, the stim injections aren't so bad because of the small needle and I've been poked, prodded and had so many surgeries/tests for endometriosis so I think that I'm a little numb to the smaller needles. It's still annoying though. I have to give you ladies credit for working throughout this process. I work from home and I'm so glad my vacation started today. I won't go back to work until after ET. Thank God because I'm so tired all day.
@hopeful_mom I’m happy to see you getting started again, been thinking of you a lot May the 4th be the miracle cycle for both of us xxx
AFM I haven’t been much on the boards lately, but I had my ER this morning and we got 4 eggs. Based on the last ultrasound I was expecting 3 mature so one more is a positive one. Last round we had poor fertilization on day 1 so I’m nervous what it’ll be but nothing to do but wait and see FX
@SugarHead My transfer was on the 14th. Beta is scheduled for the 23rd. I'm oscillating between positive excitement and miserable dread. One moment I "know" it's going to be a BFP, and the next, I am sure it's going to be a BFN. I have some HPTs left over from before we started IVF, and I will probably run through them before my appointment. I know that a BFN won't be the end of the world, but it's been such a long road. Good luck to you and the other ladies on our 2 week wait! Let's have good news all around!!
@PoeMasque - so sorry that you didn't get as many as you hoped. 8 is still a good number! Crossing all the fingers and toes for a good fertilization report tomorrow! Hope you're not feeling too uncomfortable/in pain from the ER, too
QsMadd - best wishes to the two embabies inside you! Hope the tww goes well for you.
Angelaag - that looks like pretty good numbers. sorry about the trigger being pushed to later, this sounds like quite a bit later, but I guess most clinics don't do weekend retrievals. GL with the trigger tomorrow!
clovelyone - I also was always thirsty during my cycle (and to be honest still am, 2 weeks past retrieval). Drink as much as you possible can, it'll reduce the risks of ohss
IfYouCanDreamIt - Good luck! From your signature, it looks like your past IVFs also had few eggs, but not bad fertilization rate. FX!!!
PoeMasque - 8 is not bad, it's all about the quality of those 8! Let's hope they all fertilize and grow strong and sticky!
AFM. I got a call from my doctor today!!! Wasn't expecting it until next week, but was happy to get it. Our of our 3 frozen embryos 2 are PGS normal I'm very happy with this. She also asked if we want to know the gender, but I said no to that. If we only have two, we're definitely using both (one at a time), so no gender until we have a confirmed pregnancy. We have an appointment in 2 weeks to make future FET plans, and I can't wait!!!!

@clovelyone - i was crazy thirsty during the stims, and like the above poster, still am! Granted, I was forcing myself to drink lots of electrolyte drinks this past week...hello Bloat City after my ER on Sunday! Last night and today I'm finally feeling less blimp-like, and was even comfortable sleeping completely flat last night! (I don't think i actually had ohss...was just very uncomfortable for about 4 days...)
@FuzzyDust - yay on the 2 normal embryos!!! I think a lot of labs will give the standard "it'll take 10-12 (or w/e) days" so that they are covered if it takes longer than they actually think it will take. and then everyone is happily surprised when the results come "early"! As for knowing the genders, it's a lot more complicated decision that it initially seemed to be (at least, for DH and I!) I know some people will find out the gender after the FET, so the embryo is already in you and there's nothing they can do about changing it...
AFM, I'm kind of freaking out and nervous about finding out tomorrow how many of the embryos made it to day 5/6, and if were good enough to be biopsied and frozen. Today is "Day 5" but they told me they would update me tomorrow. I had a dream last night that none of the 10 fertilized eggs made it to blast, and the remnants of it is making my overactive imagination go into overdrive...
caseyw8784 - I think initially my DH and I hoped to have a whole bunch of embryos, so we wanted to know the gender to pick and choose. Now we just want the final 2 to stick, and there is no wiggle room to be greedy about the gender anymore. Imagination is our worst enemy sometimes I had a dream a few nights ago that embryo testing lab called to tell that none of our little guys are normal. Luckily, the real life turned out to be much better than my wild imagination Good luck tomorrow with the update!

caseyw8784 ah yes its all coming back to me your process, you do have lots of patience girl, hoping u get some good news soon!! You're a great mama spending so much time and energy for the health of your future kids!!
@PoeMasque I'm sorry your disappointed but lets hope these are 8 super strong ones and then you'll be good to go!!
@IfYouCanDreamIt yay for 4!! I understand how exciting it is to hear you got an extra! Glad you made it through ER now you can breathe!!! Rest up and drink lots of fluid! Really looking forward to hearing a great fertilization report! Are you lookig at a 3day transfer? Crazy I wish I couldve gotten started sooner...the more time that goes by keeps reminding me of where I shouldve been...so hoping things continue to progress.
clovelyone thanks so much! MC are awful, but when you literally see everything is perfect I think just makes it harder and way more confusing! What protocol are u on? And how are your follies growing...I have some catch up reading to do so sorry if you've already mentioned it. Its funny you mention not knowing about all the extra symptoms that you're experiencing. I thought that the other day as well and was thinking I should write a book about it. They make you take all these classes to prepare and teach you and videos help with the injections....but theres still so much we go through that is so unknown!
QsMadd congrats on your transfer, sending you super sticky vibes!! Awesome about insurance...you go go go!!! I'm OOP so none of that matters but being older and having Low AMH I dont have time but to keep at it as long as my body is ready to go.
FuzzyDust interesting you do letters, I do videos here and there. I wont lie during my MC in the hospital in terrible pain...they say it was the contractions killing me, but I digress, I did say there is no way I'm going through this again. I was obviously heartbroken but in so much pain! Its 2 months later and I wish it was sooner as you just want to get pregnant and then have your miracle. (just saw ur post BIG congrats - thats awesome news!!)
artemis618 its interesting how different we all are, my OH is against twins and thats all I want! So sorry for your loss, thats so hard! Best of luck on your next cycle!
SugarHead hope you get some great news today...and I would love twins probably cause my body excepted 2 of the 3 that were transferred, that i want it again. My RE transferred 3 because if my age however because everything seemed so great with them and my pregnancy they really only want to transfer one in this next go around. They say its highly unlikely that 2 stick and thats why they do it. Being 40 I was so proud to be in the low statistic of someone 40 caring twins...but it is high risk and probably why it doesn't happen often. And I say technically u r preggers after transfer as it is an embaby
Angelaag I know you're disappointed and its tough to mange work and IVF at the same time but your dr is smart to wait, just look at how many more mature follies you can get, best of luck!! My 3rd round of IVF I got pregnant with twins and I was working on a very stressful project the entire time and everything worked out. Project went perfectly in the end And I was pregnant throughout it...I actually MC during my time off, go figure...

@Rachel_leigh22 FX ur 3 keep going, did they say the other 3 stopped, could they catch up?
cmiller73 hmmmm I wonder if thats what I'm doing?? They want to bank and test too. I'm the one that doesnt ha! You're only as old as ur AMH tells u haha!! I odnt know about you but I do hate when the RE goes over the stats and basically yells at you for not starting all of this sooner cause these are the facts...I hate those numbers. Anyway what i'm wondering is this...
1. If I go through this cycle and get a whole bunch of embabies to test I almost rather they test them so that when I do the next cycle I can still do a fresh transfer with one of the normal embryos from the first cycle...could that be a possibility?? The testing is expensive however I just got a bill of 6600 for testing one of the twins I MC (yes i'm still in shock as I dont think insurance is covering this SML) I could test 20 embryos and still won't spend that much AND at this rate I would be lucky if I had 8/10 embryos to test. My first round that I actually made to ER with was just the 3, and who knows if they wouldve made it to day 5 to test.
2. Heres my other question for you, if you go through ER how does AF come if they took all your eggs, is that a dumb question?

@Hopeful_mom - I think once they take the eggs, the body thinks it ovulated, so AF should come around the same time it would normally, but sometimes a few days early. I think. I was told to expect it to come around 10-ish days after ER. Anyone want to chime in, if I'm wrong? lol
Re: March IVF
I had my last pre-transfer acupuncture this morning and we just checked into our hotel (my prison for the next 2 days...bed rest
All 5 of my embryos made it and look healthy so far! They put in 2 tomorrow!
I've already started eating pineapple core and wearing 2 pairs of socks! Lol anything helps!

Best of luck to everyone.

AFM, today will be day 4 of stims, I had a check yesterday, 7 measurable, 15, 13, 13 and some 11s. They had me start the ganirelex yesterday (isn't day 3 of stims early for that?) and upped my follistim to 400.

@QsMadd GL today!!!
I HATE needles.
Hugs again

I get it. I mean, I tried to explain to DH that as cold (no pun intended FET peeps) as it seems, there is a "cost vs. risk" part of this whole IF drama. And while the cost of PGS is only a small portion of total cost, if you are paying for up to 8 embryos... and will be doing another ER cycle anyway:
1. why wait the 2 weeks to get testing back from just one embryo and lose the time to be able to go into another ER cycle at my age (43)... why lose time?
2. why not immediately cycle again and in (for me now that I am on AF D4 of prep cycle) 35 more days potentially have more to up the probability of having one test normal?
@Hopeful_mom - yes, we are doing both PGD and PGS testing. If we had our way, we wouldn't be doing either, especially cause we are still considered "young" so our RE would probably have said that we don't need PGS done. (Technically, we wouldn't have needed IVF to begin with
@cmiller73 - I'm hoping that the $200 per extra embryo is my lab's (RGI in Chicago) standard for all tests!
-Sugar
We're planning on only transferring one (FET). Before starting IVF we considered a shot at twins, and I think my husband is still entertaining the idea. But during the cycle I decided that I wouldn't purposely attempt to have more than one at a time - all this medical stuff is already way overwhelming, and the less intense I can have it, the better. There is also a chance that the one embryo can split and still result in twins - this the the only risk of multiples I'm willing to take

@fuzzydust @SugarHead I have also said numerous times that I wanted to never do this again and I would need a very long break after this if it didn't work.

@Angelaag -great numbers! similar to mine! Tell the judge that your embryos are on trial!!!

i am sorry about the added complication of your DH's sperm issue.

@hopeful_mom I’m happy to see you getting started again, been thinking of you a lot
May the 4th be the miracle cycle for both of us xxx
AFM I haven’t been much on the boards lately, but I had my ER this morning and we got 4 eggs. Based on the last ultrasound I was expecting 3 mature so one more is a positive one. Last round we had poor fertilization on day 1 so I’m nervous what it’ll be but nothing to do but wait and see FX

QsMadd - best wishes to the two embabies inside you!
Our of our 3 frozen embryos 2 are PGS normal

I don't produce FSH, so no natural menstrual cycle. DH has reduced morphology.

Imagination is our worst enemy sometimes

Project went perfectly in the end
Unexplained Infertility - but I am 40...Low AMH .30

IVF#7 June 2017 // EPP praying this is it and then on to an FET!
cmiller73 hmmmm I wonder if thats what I'm doing??
