@lilmissslp - everyone i know that has been pregnant/had a baby was required or highly recommended to get a flu shot. i know it's not mandatory, but everything i've heard is that it's safer to get the shot than risk the flu...
Thanks @caseyw8784. I'm just really nervous about it. The nurse said that they recommend the shot in October and since its so late in the season, the shot may not be affective.

ChocolateIsLife Love that picture of your jelly bean! SO happy for you! Would you get another US from your RE if you don't have a OB lined up? If so I would take the extra US. My last US was at 9 weeks...and I wish I had another one after weening off the meds to feel more confident.
lilmissslp Honestly I don't know if I would get the flu shot at this point in the year...I already did it in the fall because my SIL had a baby in November (and they do recommend that all of those around the baby get the flu shot and older adults get the whooping cough too.
If your Dr. is recommending it I guess I would just go along with that. Can you ask your RE what their thoughts are?

Thank you @swtanana and @lilmissslp!! I made the appointment today with my OB for next Friday, and they will be doing a scan then, so I am done with the RE! It kind of felt like I was done at yesterdays appointment because he wanted us to keep him updated and bring the baby by when the time comes. I haven't looked into it but I'm sure we are getting the flu shot, because I get the flu every damn year and its ridiculous lol. I don't know if there is a preferable trimester to get it in though.
I'm on the PGAIF board, and will be posting weekly threads for the first trimester ladies. If any of you who aren't already active on that board would like to participate, let me know so that I can tag you! I figured that might be a good place for us to keep up with each other, and it is great when the 2nd and 3rd trimester gals lurk in with advice or support as well.

@becauselove thank you!! The timing turns out that I will get an ultrasound next Friday, which is 9 weeks I believe. I'm so excited for my first appointment, and to go over everything. When I called the OB today, the nurse (his wife) answered and immediately squealed with excitement that I came back! My only concern is with the hospital, which is amazing, but a few years ago during my myomectomy, they made an error and created 2 profile folders for me, and the surgeon had to leave before i woke up from surgery because of an emergency, and he put the medicine dosage/release in the wrong folder. So I was awake from surgery without an ounce of medicine for a good 30 minutes before they could give me anything and it was the worst pain in my life.

ChocolateIsLife I can see why the hospital would make you nervous. Did you ever talk to the customer service department about your experience? I only ask because I had a awful experience at a ER and I had to go back to that hospital the next day for another test and I called the Customer Service line because I had been so upset by My ER experience that I didn't want to go back...and they worked miracles to make me feel safe and secure.

@becauselove that is great that customer service was able to make you feel safe again, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I made a formal complaint with the hospital, its actually a lot of issues. The complaint included the file mixup, as well as not having power in my room half the time because of construction to the hospital(that part honestly wouldn't have been so bad because i was so high on pain meds, but every time the power went off, all of the equipment i was connected to would beep nonstop, and I was there for 5 days with that). My main nurse was really mean to me, and made fun of me (called me a weakling baby) because I couldn't pee after they took the catheter out. The last issue was more of a privacy concern, because the nurse that came into my room to check my vitals, left 2 handfuls of another patients medicine on my stomach and forgot to take it with her when she left. It was vials of pain killers and some HIV medication, and the patients name was on all of it. I included all of this in the complaint, and a representative called me back within a few days and said they would follow up with me. They never apologized for the experience, or followed up. With all of this being said, it is supposed to be an amazing, high end hospital, but the experience I had was horrific, and its the only hospital that my OB affiliates with. I have read reviews that the labor and delivery area of the hospital is supposed to be better than the other wards, but I just don't know.

Hey ladies!! Thanks for all the cheers I had a late morning U/S and man can I tell you what an emotional mess I was this morning while I was getting ready. I was just so anxious to hear some/any news. I am back and well we have one beautiful Jellybean looking back at me. I am not going to say I wasn't disappointed not to see 2 but I am just so happy and beyond words to see 1! My little magic bean. RE asked me if I saw the heartbeat and I said no so he turned on the audio and I instantly started crying. HB was 168 and baby is measuring 7w2d so right now I am ahead. ANNNN I graduated today! I had no clue that was coming, I thought I had at least one more but he told me to go ahead and head to an OB and come back when I have a baby to show everyone. AS soon as he left the room a nurse who has been there from the beginning was showing me the U/S pics she had for me and told she wrote "Hi mommy" on one and then we both lost it, we both just started boo whooing. So now I am back at work looking for an OBGYN and will try to book to go back next week so I can try and see my little nugget again!! I am so relieved to have seen a baby on that screen. I have the pic attached in my BFP link. Another big hug and thanks for all the support

AFM, sorry I've been MIA. Was spotting (light, brown, so theoretically not the "super scary" kind) Wed-Fri of this week, so I've been a bit of a basket case. The nurse was very reassuring but put me on pelvic rest this weekend. Sigh. Just as I've been anxious to get active. My OB appt last Friday went well other than the packed waiting room and super long wait. I was strongly recommended to get the flu shot given how many late season cases are going around, so I went ahead and got it. And they DID end up giving me an ultrasound, which was so reassuring!! TW Baby A is going strong! We got to see the heartbeat flickering away (had heard it on all my prior US but hadn't seen it) at 170, and he/she is growing right on schedule. Yay! I have the NT scan on March 22. Next OB appt is March 29.

I really couldn't have gone through my 3rd transfer without so much support from such strong warriors such as yourselves. So I had a bit of a freak out this long weekend. I had an appointment to meet my possible delivery dr (she is a family practice but delivers 2 hours from where I live). So anyways...I had been totally weened from my IF meds as of 3/2...and ended up asking her to do a blood draw of my progesterone and estrogen levels to make sure all was well. Well my estrogen level is good (yeah!) but my progesterone level was only 15...which the family practice dr said was ok...just needed to be above 9....but I remembered my RE saying that they wanted it above 20...so called them freaking out...They responded with that my progestrone went from 55 on the IF meds to only 15 which seemed concerning...but then a few hours later after some consulting...decided it was fine long as I wasn't bleeding...my concern being they haven't heard the heart beat of my eggo on the last 2 doppler readings...which my RE nurse said showed they weren't that good at doppler readings...but anyways...they were willing to have me do 1 insert of progesterone a day until this Wed (I will be 12 weeks).
I seriously want an US just to feel ok...or to hear her heartbeat on the doppler. Hoping I can get in at my local family practice clinic and that they will do another doppler reading...and also I am buying a doppler.

@BecauseLove I was alot like you are. The first thing I did was buy an at home doppler. My husband would call me crazy I would literally sit in front of the tv with the earbugs in one ear and a doppler on my belly. But they don't work so well until like week 14. I hope everything is ok for you. FX

@BecauseLove I get your concern! Sorry you're having to worry about this but the benefits to using progesterone definitely outweigh the negatives, especially if it'll give you piece of mind.
i have an appointment with my OB tomorrow and I'm going to ask her to check my progesterone levels too just for piece of mind.
Be careful with the doppler because it's addictive! I use mine pretty much every day and I've been lucky to find it every time but lots of people have trouble finding it before 12 weeks...it may cause you unnecessary stress! I decided to get mine because my 1st trimester symptoms are so mild that I needed reassurance that things were still progressing.

@Becauselove Honestly, youtube videos were a godsend. I ordered the sonoline B from babydoppler.com and it came very quickly. I researched about 2-3 videos of women using it to get an idea of a successful technique and it worked. The key is to make very small movements in a circular fashion when the baby is this small. Yesterday it took me a while to find baby so just remember that this early on it may be tricky!

@BecauseLove I used the Angelsounds fetal doppler from amazon. If you'd like to PM me your address I can mail it to you. Looks like it's going to be a while till I will need one again and I was hoping to upgrade to one like @SwtAnana has. I agree with @SwtAnana though it can give unnecessary stress until they get bigger. But it was a calming thing for me since I had been through so much IF.

lilmissslp Honestly I don't know if I would get the flu shot at this point in the year...I already did it in the fall because my SIL had a baby in November (and they do recommend that all of those around the baby get the flu shot and older adults get the whooping cough too.
If your Dr. is recommending it I guess I would just go along with that. Can you ask your RE what their thoughts are?

AFM, sorry I've been MIA. Was spotting (light, brown, so theoretically not the "super scary" kind) Wed-Fri of this week, so I've been a bit of a basket case. The nurse was very reassuring but put me on pelvic rest this weekend. Sigh. Just as I've been anxious to get active. My OB appt last Friday went well other than the packed waiting room and super long wait. I was strongly recommended to get the flu shot given how many late season cases are going around, so I went ahead and got it. And they DID end up giving me an ultrasound, which was so reassuring!!

Baby A is going strong! We got to see the heartbeat flickering away (had heard it on all my prior US but hadn't seen it) at 170, and he/she is growing right on schedule. Yay! I have the NT scan on March 22. Next OB appt is March 29.

I seriously want an US just to feel ok...or to hear her heartbeat on the doppler. Hoping I can get in at my local family practice clinic and that they will do another doppler reading...and also I am buying a doppler.

i have an appointment with my OB tomorrow and I'm going to ask her to check my progesterone levels too just for piece of mind.
Be careful with the doppler because it's addictive! I use mine pretty much every day and I've been lucky to find it every time but lots of people have trouble finding it before 12 weeks...it may cause you unnecessary stress! I decided to get mine because my 1st trimester symptoms are so mild that I needed reassurance that things were still progressing.
