I dont understand either... I would have been excited about a boy too but i have ADORED being a mom to my daughter and cant wait to have two more precious daughters. And youre right, they dont have to parent them so why make any comment at all (about the number or sex)? But it was a great time!! My mom even had a special dress for dd to wear and she looked so pretty!

DD turns 3 at the end of this month and people keep telling me it will be worse than 2. She has been talking in full sentences since she was 18 months and hasn't stopped talking since. She is sassy and very much like a 16-year old. I'm hoping that the new baby will help sweeten her instead of making things worse.

We have a pretty low key weekend. I got to have a girl's day with my mom and aunt to have lunch and see The Shack. It was such a great movie!

I think 3 girls sounds wonderful, @Jkp7749! I think the same thing would be true of 3 boys or any combination of sexes, but how nice for your girls to have sisters.

We're having our first child (boy), and my family is vocal about their preference for girls. I've gotten so annoyed with the "next time, it'll be a girl" comments that I've started snapping back that I hope I have 3 boys because they wouldn't know what the hell to do with them. *TW* I've had 2 losses prior to this pregnancy so you'd think they'd be a little more sensitive *end TW*.

Yep! When the twins were RFing in infant buckets we did middle and behind the driver seat, for convertibles we had one behind the passenger and middle seat. We recently FFd (I'm still feeling mom guilt on this one) and now they are back in the middle and behind driver seat, since I will have 3 across we have been practicing strapping DD in and tightening from in between the front 2 seats.

@bacorrea Yes - we had a care
conference this morning with MFM, Neo, and the OB who will do the c-section to get everyone on the same page about what risks/benefits we are dealing with and to feel more solid about our decision to go ahead with delivery. (Our current MFM is simply amazing and has allowed for more space for us to come to the decision that delivery at 32 weeks is a good plan and not just one based on fear - i.e. that the little growth-restricted boy will not survive to delivery if we continue to wait) It's hard to think of delivering our little girl so early for the sake of her brother but she's got a really good chance to do well without a lot of complications. Hardest decision of my life thus far, though. I'll update after they're out tomorrow, depending on how everything goes. Thanks for the check in

Cruel and unusual punishment: the stomach bug at 28 weeks pregnant. I was up until 2 am nauseous and then throwing up on and off from 2-9am. This is super gross but every time I throw up, I also pee my pants...super glamorous.

I have an evaluation meeting, 2 IEP meetings and a transition meeting scheduled for tomorrow that I'll likely need to cancel, too.

All three of us were dressed and ready to walk out the door to go to Church when DS had a dirty diaper. I noticed he felt warm and decided to take his temp just in case, and we are now all back in pajamas with no plans for the day.

I had a serious meltdown last night. I've been feeling overwhelmed and down about my weight gain and how I have been looking while pregnant. I've had a history of issues with my weight and body image and this pregnancy has been hard on me, and I've been keeping it all in.
My husband asked me how much weight I've gained not knowing I was feeling all these things, and I exploded with emotions and tears and was a mess. He was super supportive about it all, kept telling me how beautiful I look, and that it doesn't matter how much weight I gain because I'm, duh, pregnant.
I thought pregnancy was supposed to be easy and I'd be glowing! Lol

I'm back home visiting (DH is away at training so it's just me and the girls). I have a very rocky relationship with my in-laws (just his parents, siblings are fine). I've been here for almost a week now and only my SIL has reached out to see me last night. She invited us over for dinner and usually she does family dinner where the whole gang shows up. I walked in and my FIL or MIL were no where to be found. Apparently my FIL had a softball game and my MIL chose to go watch him play rather than come see her granddaughters from out of town (who she complains she NEVER sees). I wish I could say I was surprised, but I'm not. Now she wants everyone to get together for dinner again tonight and I'm 95% sure I'm going to say "nope, I saw DHs side of the family last night, guess you should have been there". Buttttt I also have this guilty conscience. Ughhhhh.

Sorry for those who aren't feeling well today! That's no fun!

I'm laying on the couch with the dogs taking a break from packing while everyone else took stuff to my parents new place. As I'm laying here, baby boy has been so active! I can literally see him roll over and kick me! It's the weirdest coolest thing I've experienced!

@Jens_Hoes I'm sorry you're feeling down about the weight gain. Just remember that your body knows what it's doing and you're doing exactly what's needed for baby. It's absolutely amazing that our bodies are capable of growing another human being. And in a few months, you're going to get to meet your new LO. It'll be so worth it. Most of the weight will work itself away in the first several months, and you can always work on getting your body back to your comfort level. But right now, you're pregnant and beautiful and doing an amazing thing.

Question about birth announcements: Are we posting only in the birth announcements thread? I'm thinking at least with these early ones that we all want to hear updates on and offer our thoughts and prayers through the NICU stay, they should get their own thread too. I think an individual post for each @mcvgal and @mdlorenz and any other early babes is appropriate, what do you guys think?

No flu for me, thank goodness. Doc says it's likely a sinus infection. Sent me home last night with Percocet for my pounding head, and antibiotics. It's 11 am here and I'm still in bed. I feel like I've been hit by a bus at least a dozen times.

Got DDs old bassinet put together last night for this LO. Cleaned up the infant carrier and it's installed in the car! Getting things checked off my list, it feels great.

I agree that every birth, especially these early ones, needs its own birth story/update post. To me the birth announcements thread is just a place to track everyone's birth but each mom should be able to share as much detail as needed about the birth of her baby. Plus then people can comment, ask questions, and offer congratulations.

I hate mobile bumping but I wanted to add @Jens_Hoes I'm sorry you're feeling that way but I'm glad you were able to talk about it with your husband. The weight gain thing is hard, but it is normal I promise!

I also fully support people starting their own update threads for babies if they'd like, especially babies who will be spending time in the NICU.

I had a super productive day, and also had a bunch of extra time to watch The Great British Baking Show on Netflix. It's been awesome.

I cleaned the basement, swept, put away baby clothes, did laundry, cleaned up my dog's mess in the backyard, and packaged up my wedding dress to donate and I still had time to watch hours of Netflix in between chores

I know my days of balancing cleaning with watching TV are numbered, but I hope that I'll have a baby that likes being in the Ergo while I get things done around the house.

@Jens_Hoes, I'm sorry you're having a rough time! I've been feeling self-conscious lately because I think the shape of my face is changing, like I'm on the verge of getting a double chin. I know I shouldn't care because I'm growing a human, but it's still hard to feel like I don't have control. I'm glad your husband is being supportive.

Popping in to say hi to the weekend crew, even though I really hate mobile bumping...

@Jens_Hoes, I'm sorry you are having a tough time. Pregnancy is such a mind F and even when you look super adorable (as you do!), it's hard to feel pretty when your body is morphing to carry around a tiny human. It's such a short period in your life and you have plenty of time after the baby comes to get your old self back. Have you looked into baby/mommy exercise classes? Maybe signing up for something like that will make you feel like you are proactively doing something and will help you ease up on yourself? Plus, it's nice to have a set "thing" to do to get you and baby out of the house!

Not tagging everyone, but toddler feelings are no joke. I spent all morning at IKEA followed by a brewery (thanks, DH) with my 2.5 year old...it's was one step short of torture.

feeling a little better, but my 2 year old said he had a belly ache when I kissed him goodnight. Praying he's not sick tonight.

This always blows my mind because we didn't have the energy to even think about DTD until after ours turned 1. I have a friend with 2.5 yr old twins, a 14 month old and a 1 month old and just watching her makes me exhausted.
