Anyone have suggestions on how to go about donating cord blood? My hospital said I'd just need to bring in a kit myself, and they'd take care of it and send it back. Are there particular websites that would be good for finding a blood bank for this, or do I just kind of search, find one, and go with it?
People keep commenting how lucky it is to be pregnant during lent since technically you then aren't required to give up meat on Fridays as a Catholic... I'm craving a fried fish sandwich so there's that. Plus I don't understand why you couldn't still abstain from meat 1 day/week for 6 weeks. It's more of the fasting that is kind of unreasonable for pregnant women.
BAH! I am so frustrated with DH today. His birthday was last week and he tells me last night that some coworkers mentioned wanting to take him out for drinks tonight to celebrate. I was like "interesting...those are very last minute plans for a Friday night". He told me that he wasn't sure if it was going to happen, so he wasn't planning on it, and that he didn't really want to go. Fast forward to today, and of course, I get a text that they are still planning on drinks and he still doesn't want to go, but he feels like he has to and he will just Uber home. The whole "going for drinks" thing is normally no big deal, but I am SO exhausted and DS has been a total nightmare to put to bed the last few days because his routine has been so disrupted lately. I told him it is fine, because it is, but I wish that he at least acknowledged that he's leaving me with a big job in a compromised physical state. Thanks for letting me rant because I've stopped myself short of text-yelling at him at least 3 times this afternoon because I know I told him it was fine so I just have to be ok with it. Sigh. Wow, I'm a grumpy pregnant person...bring back the old me, pretty please.
You are allowed to rant on here any time @Kipperoo Bummer you might have a rough night with DS tonight. Sending you good vibes that DS goes down nice and easy tonight (it could happen)
Are all pregnancy belly support belts created equal? My OB recommended one to help relieve some of the pain I'm feeling around my stitches. They all look relatively close in price, but I'm not sure if I should go for the one that goes over and under the belly, or just under.
Well, doesn't look so good for the house we're trying to buy...guess we'll be looking for an apartment this weekend. Really wish they wouldn't have got our hopes up last week when we could have backed out and gotten some of our money back.

@CherryBananas I hope someone can chime in about the support belts! I think I need one too. My belly hurts after standing and walking around at work all day.
@mcvgal sending you and your precious babe all the positive thoughts and prayers. Much internet stranger love to you and yours!!
Thanks @rkstro2 we're pretty bummed about it. I mean I guess there might be something else we can do but I don't think so. The loan officer hasn't returned our calls from us returning his.

@mcvgal good luck tonight! Hope all goes smoothly and yay for having your favorite doctor that helps with some of the stress.
@Jens_Hoes congrats on the job interview. I am glad you are ok either way and you seem real confident letting them know you are pregnant. I'm sure that helps with nerves. Good luck to you.
@CherryBananas I have a support belt that is suppose to have the over and under the belly straps, but I got it for free from someone and they didn't give me the over strap. I don't notice any difference. I usually wear it when my sciatica is really mad and it really helps with that.
@mdlorenz thanks! I'm gonna have to get one of those and hopefully it will help at work.
The day I forgot mine on inpatient wards I used a 6" wide Ace wrap (gently wrapped around the belly) and it kept me sane. Haven't forgotten the real deal since then (including longer walks while I've been on antepartum)
@BabyMC517, bummer about the house. I hope you didn't lose too much and that you'll find something else soon. We're in the limbo house phase, too, so I feel for you.

I can't believe how fast pregnant me can get dehydrated. Yesterday I drank >120 oz of water, woke up this morning feeling like I had the start of a cold and sore throats so my fluid intake was lower but probably close to 60-70 oz. I am so dehydrated and having lots of BH contractions. I realize that my fluid requirements are even higher with whatever virus is invading me, but damn. As a person who lived chronically dehydrated before this pregnancy I am just astounded!
I've had such a long and stressful week at work. We were delivering annual reviews and there was some drama going on. It all got figured out in the end but it was so emotionally exhausting.
On the bright side: it's my birthday tomorrow! Whee!
@mcvgal congratulations! Nothing is more beautiful than hearing that strong cry when an early little one makes their appearance! Congratulations to you and your family! Thoughts and prayers for Lucia and you all!
Congrats @mcvgal! So happy for you and your family!
Thanks to those who commented on our house situation (can't remember and I'm mobile bumping)! Guess it just wasn't meant to be and time to move on. Little stressed to have to find something else so quickly but I'm sure we'll figure something out. Trying to stay positive and not worry too much!

@mcvgal aaah!!!!! I'm so happy that Lucia came out crying!! Hooray for solid lungs!!!!!!!!! Im at the lab for my glucose test and already nauseous. If I manage to keep this down I'm stopping at the little donut shop on the way home.
@PghMom412 hope all goes well with your GTT. I keep thinking of all the foods I want to eat as soon I am allowed to.
