@Kipperoo Yes! I posted on my FB last night after the lady at CVS told me how big I look and several girls were saying how they got negative comments about being so small during pregnancy. I know Nicole Kidman is like the littlest thing, but remember when she was pregnant and hardly showing? She just kept that baby tucked in! and that's totally okay. I've had crazier dreams than normal, but nothing baby related yet, which is shocking to me.
@bacorrea I was thinking that! I would not be surprised if next pg I am more like my Mom (or just how I am now).
Oh that's a really good point @bacorrea. I've gained about the same amount that I had this time with DS, but I'm carrying so low this time that I look huge in comparison!
Is anyone else having crazy pregnancy dreams? I keep having strange dreams about my husband wanting to change the baby name...like, incredibly realistic dreams where I wake up and I'm pissed off at him and have to figure out why...and then I'm like, "ohhhh...right. REAL husband didn't tell me he's decided the baby should be named Harper...that was fake dream husband." If only he'd do something really nice in my dreams so I'd wake up in a good mood.
I have been having crazy dreams for weeks! Most of the time it's about something bad happening to one of my children. Most recently I've had several dreams about someone breaking into my house and I've shot them ! I've noticed when I take unisom that I have more of these crazy dreams

Yes!! The way that your body reacts to pregnancy is not something that you can control! As long as the baby is getting the nutrients it needs, there is a broad range of "normal". My SIL proceeded to tell me that I must be wrong about my weight gain because I clearly have a belly...uh...ok, lady. I've never been one to worry or lie about my weight so now would be a super strange time to start, haha...
So seeing pictures of pumps and parts is making me anxious. I know absolutely nothing about them. I know I still have time to research and learn about how they work, but right now I can't even follow half of what people are talking about when they say things like membranes and flanges.

Most breastfeeding classes will go over pumping too. However, I suggest getting a friend that is familiar with pumping, specifically your pump of choice, to spend 5-10 minutes with you and the pump when you're ready to start using it. The lactation nurses at the hospital will also help you.
Edit to add...
Flanges are the cone piece that goes on the breast.
The membranes are a small, round, rubbery piece that fits in the valve going into bottle to keep a good suction.
@starphish18 I've had 3 things purchased and its so exciting! My shower isn't until the 25th but when I arrived home yesterday Amazon had delivered my highchair from my aunt. Definitely becoming real!
I am so glad to see that several of you all started receiving pumps. I got mine two weeks ago and now I am super happy I ordered it when I did. I second the recommendation to talk with a friend about it. After 15 minutes it will all make more sense.
I just got the second dose of steroids at 6pm, so I get to meet LO some time shortly after 6 pm tomorrow. Today has been a busy day meeting with NICU staff, lactation consultants and plenty of nurses.
sorry about missing the tag but I can't remember who posted about a house warming party / sip and see. I would not side eye that at all because I'd get to take care of to things at once, check out the house and the baby, and of course drink
Ugh, WHY do I have to wait until AFTER baby is born to order my pump through my insurance? I like to be organized and prepared and not having it all sterilized and ready to go is annoying the hell out of me. SO glad most of you get to get yours beforehand.
In other news, I just spent the last 2 hours packing for our trip to L.A. for our baby shower. Soooo excited!
I broke down and finally ordered a new swing for this kiddo. We still have the travel swing from last time but there is no way I am dealing with a battery only swing this time. I ended up getting a momaroo off of Amazon for like $150 after the registry completion discount, can't beat that!

Omg Battery only swings deserve a special place in hell.
Because I had to be induced I feel like in some ways I am a FTM when it comes to labor. What did you guys use last time to track contractions? Any favorite apps?
@mrsrep123 I understand wanting to be prepared, I'm the same way! Hopefully this will make you feel a little better. The first time around I didn't sterilize everything. I ran bottles through the dishwasher along with flanges and pump parts. I'll do the same this time. This is probably an UO... not that it's wrong to sterilize everything, but I personally feel its a little overkill. So really it takes maybe 5 min to throw it all in a dishwasher basket!

It's like some kind of rule that they only die at 3am when the baby is losing it.
We have a small travel swing that is batteries only, something I didn't even think of checking when we bought it. Our regular swing plugs in and I didn't know they all didn't. So yeah, electricity for the win!!

Thanks everyone! I think it went pretty well! There was lots of head nodding, smiling and writing things down as I spoke. It seemed I used a lot of "buzz words" for the job I interviewed for and had some pretty good experience for the job. I decided to let them know I was pregnant for a variety of reasons, and I feel confident about my choice. The bottom line is if I don't get the job for whatever reason, I'm ok staying where I'm at because of the benefits and time saved. I should find out in 2 weeks either way.
@mcvgal thinking of you today!!! Can't wait to read about your birth announcement
@bacorrea I use the "Full Term" app last time. It was easy to use and gives you the option to send an email charting your contractions (if your into having something like that for the baby book).
I woke up so happy because I see a group of doctors and whoever is on call does the deliveries on an each given day. Since they moved my RCS to 6PM, my favorite doctor is now handling my delivery!
@chickyclg how did you make sure to consume enough calories when you were pregnant with your twins?!? What kinda stuff did you eat daily? I just got curious (probably should have earlier) and researched some sample diets... Yikes! I havent been doing nearly that! I usually have two pancakes or either two eggs for breakfast, this week ive had homemade tacos for lunch, and for dinner nothing special either. Sometimes i have a protein bar during the night but now im worrying that i might not be getting enough and that might be why a is small.
@Jens_Hoes yay I'm glad the interview went well! @mcvgal I'll be thinking of you! Safe delivery with your fav dr and sending positive vibes for minimal nicu time. Cant wait to "meet" your LO
Thanks for bringing up the swing! I need to order batteries so it doesn't die on us after the stores are closed and we cant run out for me.
@Jkp7749 I had a really hard time until I got placed in the hospital. Before I went to antepartum I basically drank a meal replacement shake with breakfast and dinner, but it was super hard to eat because I would get full so quickly. Once I was admitted I ate a ton of baked potatos with lots of butter and cheese, I had real milkshakes with extra ice cream 4 times a day (they woke me up at 1 am to order a 4th meal), and apples and peanut butter or pudding for snacks.
The hospital dietitian even said they could do home made ice cream sandwiches with cake slices or cookies.
I'm finally going to get the amazon baby welcome box. Hopefully it's still as good as some of y'all's boxes! I had ordered my item on Feb 15 and it just freakin finally shipped today. Way to string me along :P I heard the Target welcome bag is good now? I still haven't gotten it so I should ask today!

I got my pump! It was nothing like @bacorrea's stash but it was free so I'm not complaining.
