I've heard Greyson a lot too, love the name I just don't like when it's a name you hear all the time..

    *snip*
So a friend of mine from high school is naming her son Grayden, kind of a fun play on Grayson/Greyson.
  • Loading the player...
  • @daniellelynette that's cute! He'll never go for it he likes "normal"  names he'll tell me it's not a real name so no way lol
  • @margareth For what it's worth, I went to high school with a Grayden (back in the Middle Ages), so it's not a terribly new name.

  • @daniellelynette A few days late to this party... but I really like Georgia Elaine! :( Haha its all I could think about as I scrolled through the rest of the posts.

I am loving the nickname Eli.. it goes well with our last name. DH'S middle name is Elliott, so we could do Elliott as a firstname. I like Emerson too. But then all my boys would end up with E names. And one of my girl names is an E too.

I'm still in love with calling a little toddler girl Franny. It's just so endearing to me because of my sweet grandmother.

  • I have a list!  If baby was a boy (it's not lol!) we were going to name him Rocco.  Our other son is Roman.  Our list so far is:  Rosalia, Angelina, Maria and Ilaria.  I really want to name her Rosalia Kathleen (after my aunt who passed away 2 years ago) or Angelina Kathleen and call her Lena.  I love Lena as a nickname.  Dh and I were going to name our 8th Maria, but he thought it was too common, so we didn't, but I still love it and Marie is part of my name and my grandmothers name/2 of my aunts, etc...).  I also like really like Elyse!  It's so hard naming daughter #9 I'm sure our list will change by the day
  • A facebook friend just had a baby and named her Juniper. My first reaction was that it's cute, but a little weird (I tend to like 'classic' names, if that makes sense), but then I imagined a little toddler running around called "Juni" and my heart melted a little bit! We're not changing our name, but I figured I'd toss it out here in case anyone else likes it and hadn't thought of it :)

We also know a baby named Juniper, and one who has it as her MN, FN Stella. Super cute!

  • DH has a cousin whose name isn't Juniper but her nickname is Junie and it's super adorable. Her name is Mariah lol
  • @amandarene112 omg, I loooove the name Stella...but my family always yells out "STELLAAAA!!!" so I could never actually use it as a name, unfortunately... :(

  • @BigBadWolf12 I love the name also, but we have a rather evil Stella in our family, unfortunately, so everyone on my mom's side of the family hates the name with a passion. :disappointed:

  • I found out I'm having a girl so her name will be Narella Mahina Sage. I've got a huge thing about how important names are and you always need a strong name. And I just like the idea of a full name being in 4. So two middle names. Narella is Greek for bright one and Mahina is Hawaiian for moon, so bright moon I thought was really sweet. Her NN will be Rel which I also really love.

I do have a boy name picked out for if the time comes for a boy. George Duncan Vasili. George is after my papou (grandfather in Greek) who recently passed. Duncan is after a 2 1/2 year old nephew who also passed. Vasili is Greek for William which is DH's MN which is a tradition passed on. We compromised on having it in Greek because I'm not a huge fan of William. My father's name is William and so is my brother's. My dad was abusive so, not a fan. Anyway NN would be Georgie.
  • @amandarene112 omg, I loooove the name Stella...but my family always yells out "STELLAAAA!!!" so I could never actually use it as a name, unfortunately... :(
Yes... I could never even consider Stella for this same reason. Same goes for Adrienne.

  • @Sugargirl1019 I love the name! The only thing about having AndrewS and then a last name with S, is it might get lost in pronunciation. Not that many people use the full name out loud, just a thought to consider.

  • We named our last baby Estelle and call her Stella.  It was a great choice!!!  We love it so much!
  • We are having a heck of a time deciding on baby names for this baby. We like names that are different, but not over the top... If it's a girl I'm in love with Silver-Anne Marie, but my husband isn't a fan...
    Other girl names I have come up with are;
    Selene
    Amethyst
    Ceridwyn
    Althea

For boys we have yet to agree at all on anything really... Haha. Here's our list so far.
    Aldwyn
    Alak
    Lazarus
    Magnus
    Mabon
    Jareth
    Valo

Any suggestions would be appreciated, we're pretty stuck (but please no rude comments, these are names we have taken the time to find and I have had a bad experience with people being a little less than supportive in a similar environment)
  • @love_lightandmagic I love Selene, and I love Aldwyn. Can you spell it Aldwin? Does that name have a meaning in your culture or language? I love the sound of it.

  • @love_lightandmagic  I know a girl with a little Sterling... it and Silver remind me of one another, maybe DH would like it better? Or, my cousin has a Sylvie...

  • @Sugargirl1019 it doesn't change the reason we chose it, I just prefer how it looks with a y, my husband said he liked it but he's not 100%. And I think for the girl I'm having an issue with other names because I love Silver so much.

@HollyGolightly09, we've looked at Sterling but it isn't at the top of either of our lists. Cute name, just not for us. Thanks for you input!
  • We both really like the name Harper James for a girl... but are having a really difficult time agreeing on boys names. I got him to kind of come around to "Nixon" which I really like but, then I made the mistake of googling it and there's is SO much hate at that name because of Richard Nixon. I didn't even think about it initially to be honest, at least not in a way that I would think people would assume that was the inspiration but, it really killed my buzz. Lol there was a lady on another bump board who got FLAMED for even suggestion it! Whomp whomp!

  • We're working on narrowing down our list. It just seems to keep growing  :|

    We like for a girl:
Gabrielle (Although DH prefers Gabrielle and I prefer Gabriella) with the NN Bree
    Charlotte
    Cassidy
    Adelia

    We like for a boy:
    Elliot (current favorite)
    Cooper
    Quincy
    Fynn
    Tobias

Either sex will have the mn of Dean, and their nn will be Dean.

  • @lahearn18 This is true! I found a baby name list from my first pregnancy 8 years ago this past weekend, and DH and I just laughed at it. There were maybe three names on it that we either don't hate now, or haven't been ruined by people we've since met. Our #1 boy name back then was Jonah, and that's completely ruined now by a friend's stoner boyfriend.

We've also come to realize that while we like our boy name- William- we don't love it. In fact, we struggle to love any boy name half as much as we love our top five girl names.

Here's our current list, any thoughts, or especially suggestions, would be appreciated.

William (If we can't find something we love and agree on, this will be our name. It's a strong name w/ family ties.)
    Oliver
Theodore (nn probably Teddy, maybe Theo)
    Henry
    Benjamin
    Quentin
Solomon (we just added this one to the list last night, and I'm kind of loving it. Dh wants to use the nn Sol, which I think is super cute.)

Like I said, we like, but don't love any of these. In fact, I'm feeling meh about most of the list, but there's nothing I like better. Solomon might be love, but I want to give it some time to sit. I'm so hormonal that there have been a few names I loved one day and hated the next, so we'll see, haha!

  • @amandarene112 we have Theodore at the top of our boy list! DH father that passed 5 years ago was Teodolfo (Filipino) and he was called Ted or Teddy. So it would be the Americanized version of his name.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @HollyGolightly09 Ugh, we know too many people! We know a boy names Dashiel, nn Dash, and while he is the cutest, his mom is the worst, and DH doesn't like anything associated with her. (Although I still do! I might bring it up again, just to see. ) And we know a dog named Sebastian, and also every time I bring it up, DH sings Little Mermaid songs in a very bad Jamaican accent. :expressionless:

This is the exact reason Sebastian isn't on my list....

My son (who's 5) is Sebastian and I think my hubby and I are the ONLY ones who have ever mentioned The Little Mermaid ha! His first bday was themed Nautical blue white striped with a red crab.  No kids have yet to say Oh Sebastian, like the crab! And I think now parents are so used to more unique names that when they hear his name they're like oh a solid boy name.
