2. People are stupid. Like, really stupid. You don't know how to wash your carseat? Hmm, maybe look at the tag or the manual. You don't have the manual so you ask an internet group? Why not google the manual. I would think this is common sense...
3. This is not an UO. In fact, I think you'll agree this is a popular opinion. I'm cranky today. Like, really cranky.

My UO (which may actually be super unpopular, and admittedly was sparked by convo in the randoms thread)...I'm alright with insurance not covering circumcisions when they are done for non-medical reasons (ie. complications that arise later). I'm not rabidly anti-circ or anything like that, I just understand why an insurance company would make a distinction between medically necessary and elective procedures. To me, it would be like asking an insurance company to cover ear piercing. Okay, so maybe not the best comparison, but I can't think of a better example right now.

My UO: I just heard that there is some new fancy car that is eliminating the CD player. I'm NOT a fan of this. In fact, I'm already sad that there are no cars with tape decks. Our car has both and I feel like we need to keep it forever. How else will we play our old 90s mix tapes? And a lot of music we like is on CDs. I don't want no streaming nonsense.
But I wanted to make a more general UO -- I like having a low-tech car and I'm not a fan of high-tech cars that are basically computers. We have no built-in GPS, but we can hook up a device or use our phones if we like. We have no chips in the key, so we can just get a key copied for $5 if we lose one or need a spare. We have no screens in the backseat. I'm SO happy about this. Our kids actually have to fend for themselves on car rides & road trips and they get pretty creative doing so. I know they'd be addicted, even for 5 min drives, if we had screens in the car. DH and I say we'd pay MORE for no screens.
I realize that these computers can add a lot of safety and I understand that is quite valuable. But I also feel like they can be hacked (maybe this is just me watching too many crime shows.) And now that I say the key thing it does sound quite unsafe if someone wants to steal my low-tech old car...haha, but I guess this is why it's an UO? And really the main part of this UO is that we are SO happy to have no screens. We probably need a new car soon (also because ours is having difficulty getting 3 carseats across the back safely), and we will prioritize having no screens again.

That said, I don't want to get in the habit of having screens available in the car because it seems like SUCH a hard habit to break and such a slippery slope. DS is content to listen to music, look out the window, and read on our 30-60 minute commute and I'm certainly not going to let him know there are any other options for him during that time.

We both agreed our kids will watch tv/ movies ( we watch a lot). However, no screen time in the car on a regular basis. I always read in the car or stared out the window or w/e, my kids can do that.

(probably not a super UO here, but there are a couple of my friends...)
I'm half on the no screens bandwagon...we do use them in the car sometimes to keep DS from falling asleep before we get home (he's impossible to move once sleeping) or if we've had a rough day and the commute looks like it will be more than an hour. We don't have a lot of downtime at home during the week, on the weekends we do let him watch cartoons in the morning before we head out for the day. And we have a ridiculous home theater in our basement (built by the previous owners) that we sometimes do family movie night on, but he can rarely sit still for the whole thing.
@kayemjay2 , I agree with you on circumcision insurance coverage. Most optional, cosmetic things are not covered by insurance, so it makes sense to me that if the standard medical recommendations don't deem it medically necessary, insurance wouldn't cover it.
I have no original UO right now...my brain is barely functioning today...
As of 2016 or 2017 all suvs will come with back up cameras.
As as far as the tv screens in the cars you don't have to have them on or open if you don't want to use them. Will be cheaper to find a vehicle without them as they are an added expense to get them.
Another OU: Black jelly beans are the best ones!

@RedInLove I love backup camera and turn signal camera, except my husband has threatened to put a scary image on the backup camera to mess with me one day.... He's jelly about it.

@kat81 my 2016 Chevy colorado almost forces you to subscribe to onstar and purchase gigs to stream stuff. Our GPS is only usable if we have on star. Which is 30 bucks a month not gonna happen. we have radio xm but then have to stream if we want anything else which is where the gigs come in because if you don't have 4g or phone service in general you can use your cars WiFi which again I'm not paying for
This might just be me but my uo is I'm sitting in the Dr's appointment and this girl sat one seat away from me and every breath is a sniffle. I am 5 seconds from grabbing the tissue box and throwing it at her. Blow your f ing nose! And turn your volume off from your media

No screen time in the car for us unless it's a roadtrip/move, then those things are lifesavers. I have a basket of books in my car that my kids read as well as those Melissa and Doug water coloring books!
My backup camera is amazing, but I get super annoyed when it's been raining pretty heavy and there is like one rain drop on it covering/fogging the whole screen.

Jelly Belly = amazing. Every time I'm at Costco, I'm tempted to purchase their gigantic tubs of JBs. My husband hates sweets though, so I'd eat them all. And then I'd have no teeth. I love every flavor except buttered popcorn. That's a BS flavor.

@WombThereItIs - yes to all of that! I paid for a ticket the same way you did. You think it's annoying to listen to a crying child for 2-3 hours, imagine how the parent feels! The sound is 10x more frustrating for a parent.
@kat81 - yes to the screen thing! My nephew literally can not take a 5 minute drive without a phone/ipad. It's absurd. I refuse to buy a car that has them. I will bust out the Kindle Fire for long road trips, but typically only if I'm making them alone. Other than that, DS can sleep or learn how to play the license plate game like we did as kids!
My UO (which probably only applies today) - I hate that there are so many ways to get email right now. I'm at home on a sick day, and I'm sick of having to reply to emails just because people know i can see them on my phone.
