@chickyclg is there any way you could move the IFSP? Younger daughter's is up to be reviewed in May. Her case manager decided to go ahead and reschedule the IFSP meeting for April instead, because early is fine, but late is not ok. I don't know what the rules about that in your state are, though.
@Squirtgun I can! I totally forgot about that option, initially his case worker was nervous about him not qualifying for all services if we moved it up, but with an ASD diagnosis he will be an auto qualify now.
This might be a dumb question...but what kind of clothes are you buying for the newborn phase this summer? I'm going to be indoors with AC except for if we go to the pool later on in the summer- I had a September baby so we had long sleeve sleepers and onesies with pants. Don't newborns kind of need to be covered when they're really little bc they can't regulate their body temp? Or should I be getting more short sleeve summery clothes? I am not sure where to start and the take home outfit thread has me wanting to shop!
@Hansolosparka, I'm definitely not an expert since I'm a FTM, but I have some long sleeve sleepers for night and a bunch of short sleeve onesies for during the day. We spend the summer in a cabin so it can be a bit cool at night but very hot during the day, and I expect to spend a good amount of time outdoors as long as I can keep the baby comfortable.

I think it depends on where you live and what "air conditioning" means to you.
We will be in TX and I had DD in Texas (April '14) she lives in short sleeved onesies. This one will too. I would put a swaddle blanket over DD if she was in the swing (My husband keeps the house around 68). Out and about I threw a pair of shorts on with the short sleeved onesie or she wore a romper. At night I normally put her in a short sleeve onesie and then a sleep sack. Sometimes a long sleeved onesie but rarely. If she was in a long sleeved sleeper with pants then it would be no sleep sack. I plan on doing the same with DS.
@Hansolosparka This is something I've done some over thinking on. Growing up in Alaska my knowledge of how to dress a newborn is VERY different than my reality here in AZ. We keep our AC around 72 so in the house I'll still do regular sleepers and pants and what not (unless baby runs hots!). When we go out I'm thinking it'll definitely be shorts, short sleeves, etc and then have a sweater and blanket if needed.
Thanks @kns1988 and @bacorrea !! Makes sense...I don't know why I had in my head that she might be cold. We live in the Mid Atlantic so it definitely gets hot in the summer and we keep our house around 70. Summery clothes it is! And I usually have a million swaddles laying around that I could put over her in a swing or bouncy seat.
I had a similar scare today. I realized I hadn't felt him much so I laid down, still nothing. Since I often don't feel a ton with an anterior placenta, I got out my doppler. I could hear movement, but couldn't get the hb. I finally gave up and got in the car to go to dinner with DD and DH. I made DH turn around so I could try the doppler again. I finally found the hb. I went out to dinner and am finally feeling a little more movement. I hope he has a dance party in there later tonight so I can have real peace of mind.
We all need to keep bananas and pickle juice on our nightstands, haha! For real though, I've started keeping these little granola bite thingies in my nightstand because of middle of the night hunger. And OMG last night, I drank 32 oz throughout the night because every time I woke up I was apparently dying of thirst.
@nda_roxybabe if I drank 32 oz of anything during the night I might as well just sleep in the bathroom. I hate when I wake up thirsty because I know even if I take a few sips of water I'll be up in an hour again to pee.
@Hansolosparka I agree with what others have said. We are in central Florida so it will be long sleeve sleepers at night and mostly short sleeves and shorts during the day with swaddles. Or long sleeve sleepers with no swaddle during the day.
@CherryBananas if you can remember stretch with feet flexed not pointed it will keep you from Charlie horses. This helps me tremendously
This is good advice for anyone, the best method is actually to try and reach for your toes with your leg straight, I know none of us could even attempt that but it automatically makes you flex your toes up to your knee and helps immensely

Yep! I tend to get leg cramps during the night while pregnant and I have found that if I flex my feet as soon as I feel one coming on that I can avoid it.

Yes, charlie horses are the worst in the middle of the night! I'm still asleep and now I have to remember to flex my foot?? @chailife34 cajun seasoning for life! I get so sad when I don't get it. If november is already talking about facebook does that mean that'll be a good lurking group?
@rkstro2@Jens_Hoes@BeachMommy2B I just came on here to comment on the November thread! Crazy that that's already up! And I noticed the FB group, as well as a HDBD thread...!

Sounds like they will be a fun board to stalk.
I wonder if those people that start a fb group so early are just desperate to be admins of something because why wouldn't they just join one that is already established on fb instead if coming here to recruit members?

Aaaah! My last BMB was Nov 15, so seeing the November board up was like "wow! I was just finding out I was pregnant with younger daughter two years ago!" So weird to think about, as usually I wouldn't even remember when any of those pregnancy milestones were, just her birthday!
There's a HDBD thread?!?! Totally on my way over there to check that out!
Yes! No photos yet, but the infrastructure is there...so there could be some fun in the near future
This reminds me that I was looking back at some pictures H and I took early on starting around 10 weeks, and I just laaaaaughed and laughed at myself. I can't do anything now without my belly threatening to hit something, so it was funny to look back and remember how worried I was about hiding that tiny thing. That was a burger, not a bump! (Just to be clear, I never posted these to a HDBD thread!)
Just finished reading through four pages of posts. Whew! Yay to a new BMB to stalk!
@vrj0522 I second a poll regarding the sticky threads.
Failed my GD test. I thought the cut off was 140. My glucose was 138. Turns out my doctors office puts the cut off at 130. So 3 hour test it is. On the upside (for the first time in my life) the doctor said she was happy with my weight.
Fvck! I failed the 1 hour I knew it, for some reason I knew it. I have to take the 3 hour now. She said I was at 160, is there ANY chance I can pass this??

Looks like a few people already requested some of them unstickied so we don't need a poll after all.

@LilMissCrafty and @Jens_Hoes I'm sorry to hear that you failed the 1-hour test! Fingers crossed and good vibes that you'll both pass the 3-hour test with flying colors!
I've been doing some seriously lurking lately and have failed at posting very often, for which I apologize
Sorry to those who failed the 1 hour! Sending you glucose-processing vibes for your 3 hours!
We're closing on our house next week and moving at the end of the month! I'm excited, but seriously stressing about how to move with a 15 month old. I can't wait to get in and get settled- it's been rough wanting to nest but being unable!
Random: Yesterday, one of my employees sent a group message to everyone in the office. The message contained a link to a white supremacist website. It was awful. I cannot believe there are people who think that way. So I've been dealing with that today. I'm a supervisor, but I don't have hire/fire power, it has to be agreed upon by my boss and HR.

Did you eat at all before the 1 hour? When I ate the morning of last pregnancy I failed the 1 hour by a lot but this time I did it fasting (doc didn't care) and I passed with a 95. Maybe the fasting start for the 3 hour will work for you too?
Ugh, @Jens_Hoes , I'm so sorry. The 3 hour sucks, but there is a high probability you will pass. It seems like failing the 1 hour is pretty common. Bring along a good form of entertainment and a snack to eat immediately upon completion of the test...that wait is pretty brutal.
@LilMissCrafty and @Jens_Hoes I have my fingers crossed for your 3-hour tests! Sorry you have to do that.
@kayemjay2 first of all that is so horrible about your employee. I can't even imagine what would make someone think that is ok in a work setting. I hope your boss and HR agree to get rid of him. Also, I wanted to say that we moved when DS was about 18 months. I wasn't pregnant at the time which I'm sure won't make things any easier, but we all survived. I would say start packing NOW when you have the time/energy either during nap times or after your son goes to bed. The more you can do ahead of time the easier. Also depending on your budget, there are companies that will pack for you and move all your stuff. They're not cheap, but we did it because while we packed a lot of stuff ahead of time we had a somewhat tight turnaround and decided it was worth the money to have someone come in and do a good chunk of the work for us. Something to consider.
@kayemjay2 I actually saw a post of your on the names board last night and then got worried bc I hadn't seen you around here in a while. I was going to get on a real computer today and look you up to see if I just missed an update. Glad things are good - I feel ya on the busy front!
@Jens_Hoes and @LilMissCrafty sorry to hear about your GTTs. I have mine Tuesday so I hope I'm not going to follow in your footsteps!
sorry about your GTT @Jens_Hoes & @LilMissCrafty ! I take mine Monday and I'm dreading it...more so because having such a sugary drink that early will mess up my stomach and not looking forward to that feeling, but also because I really want to pass! Good luck on the 3-hr!
