  • @starphish18While I enjoy meat, I'm horrible about eating it (hence H's suggestion/ concern). I just got the kids meal and it's perfect size! Are you veg? or just dont do red meat?

  • @mcvgal I took the test last week and will get my official ruling when I see the doctor this Friday. However, my results came back online and my number (110) was listed in the normal range they provided (65-130). So, my assumption is that I don't have GD. Yes, I am eating the same foods for breakfast that I normally do. Things like cereal, bagel, muffin or other pastry, decaf latte or coffee. Usually I eat my breakfast at work to save time, and I'm not a fan of eggs in the morning, but maybe I need to just try other foods that aren't as carb-loaded. I will say, I've always felt like my blood sugar drops easily. My whole life, I would get occasional dizzy spells/shakiness/weakness, which is why I tend to eat lots of meals throughout the day. I've kind of gone off on a tangent now. I guess what I'm getting at is that that part isn't totally new, other then it happening directly after breakfast, but the acid reflux is definitely new (and I'm sure just associated with being pregnant).
  • @nda_roxybabe I was a vegetarian for about 10 years, but haven't been for the last year or so. I still don't eat a lot of meat, and it's usually chicken when I do.
  • @starphish18 You said you're doing decaf right? Caffeinated definitely does that to me. I often find that even when I do decaf with my morning pop tart :O! I can get that way too. I think it's the sugar/ carbs with a lack of protein. I've now added in a spoonful of PB (at my Dr's suggestion) when I start feeling a little funky or hungry, its helped.

  • @vrj0522 glad LO is moving now!  I had the same thing happen to me yesterday.  Baby moved what seemed like a lot over the weekend but I didn't feel her at all at work.  So I drank juice and laid down when I got home to see if I could feel her moving more.  I felt some very slight movements and ended up notifying my OB anyway and she said it was normal.  I think also because the placenta is anterior in my case I can easily miss the movements.  Today even at work I have noticed much more movement.  My OB said it can vary some from
    day to day.

  • Anyone else's mobile app being buggy today? It's not bringing me to the right part of the page on almost any posts, tags are off, etc. I'm mostly a lurker lately during the week but it's making it so much harder!!
My app was screwed up for several weeks.  If I wanted to bump from my phone, I had to log in from my browser. It finally resolved yesterday.  But it definitely doesn't take me to the right parts of threads.

  • I feel like I'm starting to be really grumpy about all the pregnancy symptoms. I got all emotional telling fiance that our DD wasn't going to like me anymore after this pregnancy because he's been doing everything with her and I'm kind of on the sidelines. I am just having such a hard time keeping up with her.

  • If anyone has strong opinions about NOT unstickying either the baby's sex thread please weigh in.  It sounds like that one has been proposed to limit board clutter.
  • Just curious... Has anyone who has had a planned c section been given something like staydol before the or room to calm your nerves??? Im getting really nervous about being in a total normal state of mind and not being in labor when going into the or. I wasnt creeped out last time but i was in so much pain and ao disoriented that i didnt care what they were doing.
  • I think we should unsticky the sex, ultrasound and intro. If there are new comments in them they show up with the alert.
  • I think we should keep intro.  Everything else I'm good unstickying.

  • Thanks to those who responded about the pregnancy insomnia. I'm really at my wits end. I've always been a good sleeper and never had any of these issues with my first pregnancy. I have an appointment on Friday and will definitely be asking about unisom! Thanks again!

@hp_momma @WombThereItIs I got my pump from Pumping Essentials! It took less than a week! I ordered last Tuesday and they verified everything by Wednesday and it shipped out Thursday. Check out all this stuff! Tricare for sure upped their game since I gave birth to DD!

Edit: the picture won't load! I will try again later
  • Oh the pregnancy insomnia...it's killing me. I never really have trouble sleeping in normal life. But baby girl is SO active...she kicks me awake and then her squirms keep me up for hours. I keep reminding myself that at least I'm laying in bed resting and that soon I will be wishing for these days of long stretches laying in my bed, but man, it's rough.

  • @vrj0522 I'm glad baby moved for you! Lack of movement can be so stressful!

Plus one for having a hard time sleeping! We recently got the toddler transitioned to a big boy and he's been doing awesome, and I have been sleeping so well since! But the last week or two things have gone way down hill, and the resulting exhaustion has me hoping this baby waits as long as possible to come. I think I've blocked out the newborn tiredness ;)

Like others mentioned, I do take a unisom most nights which does help. But like @Kipperoo mentioned, this baby has become a night owl and literally wants to dance and party all night long. Yay.

Oh I am totally interested in this too! I had an anxiety attack during my last one so they sedated me, I'd love for that not to be the case this time.

  • @nda_roxybabe like restless leg? Or cramping? Mine have been cramping a lot at night and all that seems to help is getting up and walking for a bit.
  • @nda_roxybabe , are you using a pillow between your legs? That has really helped me...

  • WWM17D: I was/am hoping for a VBAC, but the OB gave me the option to go ahead and schedule my CS as early as May 15 (EDD May 20).

Reasons I'm considering, DS has to have his IFSP review by May 24 so I'm thinking that will give me time to recover a little before the meeting.  DH also would also prefer I have a CS since he doesn't feel like a VBAC is the safest option.  I would have more one on one time to bond with the new baby without the twins (am I crazy for this thought?)

Down side, that would be 5 less days to give my body the shot to spontaneously go into labor and will be a harder recovery dealing with 2 toddlers at home (DS still wants to be carried a lot).  I don't remember having driving restrictions last time, but that could be an issue with 3 kids.

  • I only have one two year old and he's enough to keep me firmly on team VBAC @chickyclg

An extra day alone with the baby just doesn't seem worth the downside of caring for toddlers after a cesarean. The driving restrictions are a pain too, even not on opioids I wasn't allowed behind the wheel for like two weeks.

  • @livin541 Both! I feel like I need to move the legs and then I know if I stretch and point my toe I'll get a cramp. Stretching feels so good sometimes though.
@Kipperoo Yea, either the Snoogle or this squishy down one I have.

  • @chickyclg I am generally in the camp to make it to your due date, unless there is a medical reason for you to go early. (Or obviously naturally) 5 days could be really 10+ days if you don't know exactly when you got pregnant.

Does it look pretty favorable right now for you to have a successful VBAC? Can the doctor give you any odds?

I think it should be whatever you and you husband decide. I had a REALLY rough vaginal birth. I know it's probably a walk in the park compared to a cscetion, but my friend acted like her cscetion recovery was easier than my vaginal.

  • @bacorrea WOA. That is a ton of stuff. I have my RX from the doctor but I've been putting off ordering it because I don't want it to ship while I'm out of town!

@nda_roxybabe Restless Leg Syndrome is pretty popular during pregnancy and I get bad leg cramps during third trimester (which is common too!) Up your water and potassium intake and try to remember to flex your foot when you get a cramp instead of pointing!

  • @bacorrea, we only DTD 1 time (my lucky DH), but I know it could have implanted a little later.

Previous C-section was due to my Baby As (DS) water breaking at 34 weeks and his heart rate being in distress, we were still talking about a vaginal birth with a breech extraction for Baby B until that point.

  • @fbmandy55 I told my fiancé the same thing, a project a weekend. This weekend we also cleared my closet for LO. I am so excited to start stocking it up, but everyone tells me to wait until after my baby shower.

Time sure is going by quick. I remember how anxious we were to be done with the first trimester and now we're nearing the finish line!!!

I am due at the end of May and I feel like it will never be here.  I am not sure how I am going to get through 12 more weeks of working at an elementary school with the special ed population.
  • Thank you @rkstro2 - I needed a good reminder about all of that. Hoping my yoga breathing and meditation (and, hopefully, the presence of my original OB provider - a CNM who also teaches prenatal / postnatal yoga) will keep me calm if the wonderful anesthesiologist doesn't do the trick.

  • As someone who got meds for anxiety during my last cesarean I'd suggest you think twice about it and give yourself a good pep talk instead. Chit chat with the anesthetist or another nurse, there are other ways to relax and change your focus for sure.

Anesthesiology ended up pushing Versed during mine and I don't remember like the first 8 hours after the OR. That sort of sucked. I vaguely remember refusing to hold my baby because I felt too groggy to be safe and it's a big regret.
