Holy cow! Some of the group are so close to their due dates!
Random complaint. I can't believe how much more sore I get while pregnant from doing simple things. My body is killing me from the projects I did around the house this weekend. A big part of that was probably sitting/kneeling on the hard floor a lot, which I didn't even think about at the time. But yeesh, last night and this morning, I've been moving like I'm 70. My hips and back are stiff and sore, and my knees keep cracking. Pregnancy is no joke.
With a may 3rd due date and my gut feeling that he'll be a few weeks early I'm totally shocked at how fast this is coming! The beginning was SO slow and now it's insanely fast!
I am so bummed! Our shower is this week and I have family and friends coming to town and I have to take the 3hr test on Wednesday before they all get here. This is how I woke up this morning after a terrible night of sleep it's put me in a bad Monday blues. All I want to do is crawl back into bed and cry a lot.
Hubby and I picked out a Daycare on Friday - and I am SO relieved. That was the last "big" item left on my to-do list. The satisfaction I got from crossing that baby off was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
@starphish18 Seriously! I did some cleaning up/ organizing over the weekend and it wore me out! I also determined that once I come upstairs, if I forgot something, I can not go back and get it real quick. It takes me a good 5 minutes to get my breath back! I told H I needed some time before talking to him after doing that yesterday and luckily he was like "Well dont do that! If you forget something, tell me and I'll get it"
yes even though im a may 14th edd I am getting anxious about how close things are getting! I started a registry just to be able to use the completion discount and now i keep going back and adding things I might need or want. Did anyone watch the oscars? I can't believe the mishap with the wrong movie announced as best picture!
Yeah the shortness of breath is real here too. I saw my 2 year old clocking in at 33.6 lbs as he proudly peed on my bathroom scale last night and realized maybe I should be done lugging him up the stairs! He can walk up them just fine but it takes foreverrrrrr so I had been carrying him.
Also if I can have a mini Monday bitchfest, sinus infections while pregnant suck. I can't take motrin for the sinus swelling so my face feels like it's going to explode. And the colors coming out of me are no joke. Plus the raging cough (bronchitis?) and I'm so done. Some real cough medicine would be great but I guess that is a no-no too. I'm hoping this thing is going out with a bang and tomorrow will be better. I am usually not such a baby about colds but this one is taking the longest time to go away.
@jayandaplus - I am so sorry you failed the 1 hr test and that you are feeling down! FX the 3 hr test goes well and that your shower is fun and cheers you up!
We have also started our countdown with 9 weeks to go. That is all of 63 days--seems like it is coming entirely too fast but I'm also starting to get uncomfortable so I'm sure I will be more than ready physically by the time it's go-time. DS is usually in preschool 3 days a week and I really use those days to get stuff done and clean but the last two weeks I have been able to work hard for 2 days and by the third day I crash and get pretty much nothing done. I hope it doesn't get much worse because I am in intense nesting mode and I think I will probably stay there until baby gets here. f

I feel you! Since we are only 9 weeks out from EDD, I've told Dh that we need to focus on a project each weekend. This weekend we cleaned house and I cleared old clothes out of my closet and tidied up our room to make space for baby.
I hurt so bad I could have cried. My feet, hips, and ankles were screaming all night. I'm also carrying really low which makes bending over to get things horrible already.
I did a rainbow baby shoot this weekend. All of the moms who participated are currently pregnant with rainbow babies. Once all of our babies are here, we'll do another shoot with them. We also got some individual maternity shots, which was great since I didn't plan on a maternity shoot this time. I never "announced" our MC outside of close family and friends, it was definitely a little outside of my comfort zone. I posted the not privacy-redacted version of this pic to my FB and the reaction has been awesome.
I can relate to being sore and out of breath, but it's because my parents took DS last night and DH and I took advantage of the alone time last night and again this morning.
I'm not happy to be in the office this morning. Almost no one is here because it's Mardi Gras. At least we're closed tomorrow for actual Mardi Gras day.
I can so relate to the shortness of breath and soreness. What I don't understand is I did a 2 hour aerobics event last Thursday (granted I modified a lot) and I was fine. But, I try to walk around the block or pick up the kids toys and I am out of breath.
@jayandplus Sorry you failed the test, I hope the 3 hour gives you better results.
Time really seems to be flying by super fast. I set a goal of having my hospital bag packed by 32 weeks. So far I have the hygiene stuff I need and baby's coming home clothes, but no actual bag. I have huge fundraiser I organize every year for March of Dimes this Saturday. I keep telling myself that once that is over, I will jump on the nesting wagon and actually do some baby prep things that need to be done.
@jayandaplus oh man! Sorry about your glucose test. Hopefully you pass the 3 hour one. Luckily you have lots of fun things to look forward to and make the time go faster.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot That is such a beautiful picture! I can relate as we had a mmc before this and only told a few people so it must be nerve wrecking to post something that personal. I love the sentiment of the picture, and how awesome for you to know other moms who have been through it and we're up for that.
@jayandaplus I'm sorry you failed the 1 hour! Fingers crossed that you ace the next one.
@nda_roxybabe Stairs - no kidding! Our house isn't very wide, but it's tall. I was doing a lot of work on the 3rd floor, which meant going up and down from 1st to 3rd more times than I could count, plus a few trips into the basement. Oye. I love that your H offered to run the stair trips for you!
@starphish18 - I second feeling like an old lady! There are nights where I feel like I could crawl to bed! DH keeps telling me "Just tell me when you need help", and I swear I feel like the answer is "anytime I try to do anything. Period".
I can't believe we're getting so close. I started a final "to do" list last night, and it petrified me how much is left. It's not necessarily anything big, but it's just things I'd already taken care of by this point when I was pregnant with DS. Also, I kind of just need a nap thinking about finishing it.
@jayandaplus sorry about your 1 hour fingers crossed for the 3 hour!
@WombThereItIs I have been battling bronchitis/sinus cold for 7 WEEKS! I was just about over the coughing and last week DD came down with Influenza A and all the sudden I got even sicker and the cough that was almost gone came back with a vengeance! Just an FYI my Dr okayed Tylenol sinus, sudafed, and Robitussin. He also prescribed me Promethazine (codeine) cough medicine for night time so I can sleep. So there is some "good stuff" that they can prescribe if you get too bad! I had to be very vocal with them, because they do try to brush it off at first. I haven't had to take it the entire 7 weeks only about 5 days the first week and then I've been taking it again since Friday when the cough returned. I'm hoping by tomorrow i won't have to take it at night as I seem to be getting a bit better. Feel better soon!!!
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot beautiful photo! Can't wait to see the after photo with all the squishy babies!!
DH and I did our Childbirth (Lamaze) class at our hospital this weekend. We couldn't make the series work with our schedules, so we did the all day one. It was long, but we really liked it. Much more than we thought we would. 9 weeks left..Where did the time go?
I was organizing our junk drawer on the weekend and for some reason thought the floor was the best place to do it. DH just laughs at me now because I look like an old lady trying to get up and everything hurts! You'd think I would have learned by now.
I'm also looking at my list of things I still need to do/order and it's making me panic a little bit.
@BeachMommy2B I'm sorry you're in the same boat! My husband is actually nagging me to go in but I don't want to take off from work. I didn't think about codeine though, I may ask him when he gets home, he will have a better idea of how they usually treat things in my clinic. I just really don't want to go in and get antibiotics and a shrug off that it's probably viral anyway because I'm sure it is, it is just this damn cough!
Im with a lot of y'all ,i get sore just from cleaning and cooking dinner! With my first I don't remember getting so sore all the time and I worked 10 hour days most days at work.
Tomorrow will be 9 weeks to go it's going sooooo fast! Ahhhh. Dr appointment went great today baby girl sounds great! Later today DH and I are doing our OB tour at the hospital while MIL and FIL babysit. Even though it's not a date we're excited to be toddler free for a couple hours
@starphish18 count me in on being sore too. I'm usually up until midnight most nights and last night I just couldn't even hang until 10pm. And I'm still exhausted this morning. At least shit is getting done?
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot The photo is gorgeous! Love your blue dress. Can't wait to see the post babies photo
My random so far is I'm just tired. I did order some curtains for the baby's room so I'm excited to start adding colors! It's so plain right now with beige walls and white furniture. Now I'm spending a lot of time on etsy for ideas on what to put on the wall.
Other than the hospital bag do any of the stm plus' packing a bag for your other children if they are going to spend some time with inlaws or grandparents? I am thinking about doing one for my son.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot - The picture is AHHHmazing! And it's so lovely to see how differently people carry.
I'm still a bit in denial that this little human is arriving soon-ish. We haven't done much to get ready (using nursery as-is from DS), and we're busy just chasing DS around, so I honestly keep forgetting that I'm pregnant until I run into things with my giant belly or ache like an elderly person. Bleh.
But we did order her outfit for her newborn photos, so yea for doing something! We had a normal session with DS, but we also included a few Harry Potter-related pictures because we did an HP birth announcement. We didn't want to do the exact same thing for DD, so we got her a little snowy owl hat and swaddle wrap to be Hedwig. Our poor little humans are probably going to end up hating HP and be mortified that we did this to them.
@thistlenweeds there is a hospital bag thread...I used that to help kick off my hospital bag list. Now I just need to round up the stuff on my list...hmmmm
@BeachMommy2B I'm sorry you're in the same boat! My husband is actually nagging me to go in but I don't want to take off from work. I just really don't want to go in and get antibiotics and a shrug off that it's probably viral anyway because I'm sure it is, it is just this damn cough!
I kept putting off going in for my nagging cough for the same reason, probably just viral. Finally I was getting more shortness of breath just going up my stairs (which could totally be pregnancy related too). OB was NOT happy that I waited so long and almost sent me off for a chest X-ray because of how my lungs were sounding. I got cough suppressants, mucinex, and an inhaler. It was definitely worth it to go in! Feel better!

@jayandaplus, too bad you didn't pass your 1 hour! As someone who recently lived this, I totally understand your frustration. Fingers crossed you pass the 3 hour!
I can't believe how close I am to having this baby. 6 weeks from tomorrow is my likely induction date. 6 freaking weeks! What?! Where has the time gone? I'm superficially ready (room, supplies, etc), but still not sure I'm mentally prepared for the change speeding toward our little family. I'm most concerned about DS and how he will handle it, but I'm sure it will all work itself out. I mean, it kinda has to, right?
I'm not so much like omg I have so much to do, but more like...I guess I should think about the birth. Maybe I will go med free? Maybe I won't. Maybe I will just eat a Girl Scout cookie and pretend this isn't happening...like ever.
