@stella_700 GOOD LUCK!! That's so exciting! FX for a lot of eggs!. How was the trigger shot? Did you have your husband give it to you or did you do that one yourself?

  • Hey all. Apologies for being MIA. We got some bad news, the embryo didn't take. :'( Although this was our first cycle, I don't think we'll be doing a second. I think we'll go right to IUIs with donor sperm from here.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for being on this board and sharing and I hope for BFPs for everyone... perhaps I'll be back for the April IUI group <3

@hoping10 Good luck tomorrow, it will be done before you know it. Take it easy with yourself. My husband did do the trigger shot for me, he has been a rock though this, trying to navigate my anger and frustration though dealing with this hasn't been easy.

I hate waiting, it drives me demented. I'm not a patient person, it isn't my best character trait. They got 12 eggs, not has high as I had hoped, so now we are just waiting on the fertilization report today. I didn't think to ask if that was the mature number or the total number, I might have been a bit out of it still. While I don't have anything to compare this to I think I'm doing pretty well in recovery. I think this is part of how good my doctor is but I surprised the nurses in how well I recovered. No signs of OHSS and started to more much more like my normal fluidity. I think they though it was take longer cause I'm a bigger girl?  Got home and took a 2 hour nap after eating lunch. Still feeling some soreness as they did part vaginal and part abdominal retrieval. I am sucking down the gatorade still, on my fourth 20 oz bottle since getting home around noon yesterday.

Ladies the almost immediate relief from getting those eggs out is amazing. I have a cautionary tale though. They doctor's note says they want you on a stool softener before the procedure. I'm never taking a stool softener again until I seriously need it. I'm also taking a long nap since I was up and down like 5 or 6 times in the middle of the night. Bleh.

Going to get some protein in me this morning and having eggs and toast. : )

Good luck to all today and thank you for the positive wishes from everyone.

@stella_700 - how did the retrieval go? FX for lots of healthy eggs! (edit: you beat me to posting!
@Hoping10 - good luck tomorrow! how did the trigger shot go last night?

@rayoflight80 - so sorry. sounds like you have a good plan. take care of yourself this weekend!

AFM, i stopped the BCPs yesterday! Baseline ultrasound and blood work is at 7 am Sunday morning, so keeping myself busy so it'll come quickly! No real plans for the weekend, so DH and I might go to the movies tomorrow and grab a nice dinner (it's rare when he doesn't have to work a 24 hour shift on either Saturday or Sunday!) Anyone else have any fun weekend things planned?
  • I'm on day 7 of stims and was up on and off all night with charley horse type pains in my stomach. Ugh

Had an ultrasound this morning to check progress - I had 4 measurable follies (a 15, 13, 13, 12) and 7 other potential ones that may or not perk up. RE said she hopes we get six but to be prepared for 3-4. I started cetrotide this morning and I'm just waiting on my bloodwork results to see if I have to go back tomorrow and/or Sunday

  • Thanks so much everyone!

@caseyw8784 Trigger went well. I iced both spots before injecting since my stomach has gotten pretty sensitive. Had period like cramps this morning and my lower back has been hurting. Other than that, ready to go tomorrow morning.

  • Reading all these progress reports make me happy!

Just a little heads up/PSA...I'm not sure if it's at all the stores, or just the ones here in the Boston area, but I just got back from Destination Maternity (I'm very sensitive with hormones so I know the bloat is going to be real once I start stims so I wanted to pick up a couple new pairs of leggings/lounge pants!) and they were having a BOGO sale for their Motherhood line of leggings!
  • I could read through every page but I'm just not feeling it! Who took a hpt and how soon after transfer got a BFP? I am 5dp5dt - thinking I should wait until Tues which will be 9dp5dt .. I did test out my hcg!
  • @krenee124 I was 7dp5dt and it was a fairly good line. Digital confirmed on 9dp. I was expecting a negative, I just did it on a whim, I was shocked to see the line. Eek fingers crossed for you!
  • @caseyw8784 I know where I'll go this weekend!! The bloating definitely has yet to go away over here, I'm in unbuttoned jeans right now
  • Had baseline today. Left AFC 6, right 3-5. All same size (yay). I start injections Sunday. I'm taking next week off work but have to go in 3/6, then I'll take the rest of that week off too. Retrieval estimated for 3/9.

  • @mandasand - yay for starting stims on sunday! i hope the first few days of shots go well and the next couple weeks fly by!
  • @krenee124 I tested at 10dp3dt and had positive on digital and frer
  • I'm feeling more hopeful after this mornings appt!  I have 6 measurable follies on left (18, 13, 12, and 3 measuring 10) and 2 on right (measuring 15 & 10). I don't know that the 10's will have time to catch up but I'm rooting for them!  I go back tomorrow morning for another scan and more bloodwork and she will have a better idea on when retrieval is going to be

@lizycs we are also doing the genetic testing OOP as well for those reasons. I ended up taking the money from 401k to do so but I'm confident with that decision for the reasons you mentioned above

  • @lizycs - it is a personal choice, but many posters on here do PGS, especially if their RE's suggest it based on age. (DH and I are both 32, and at our age, there's a 30% chance of abnormal eggs...we were shocked!)
We are doing both PGS and PGD: PGD testing for a genetic disorder that I have a 50% chance of passing on, and PGS because, why go through the whole PGD testing to only have one not implant cause of chromosomal issues?

Glad you guys ended up choosing to do it, and hopefully avoid the heartache of the 3 abnormal ones not implanting!!
  • Hi all! I love hearing all of the movement and potential success in this group! We had our ER on February 9th. I don't know if it was the trigger shot (HCG) but I had the most intense nausea and severe heartburn for about 5 days after it with a mild case of OHSS. Has anyone else had this?
ER: We had 18 follies, 11 mature eggs, and all initially fertilized. We got down to only 2 that made it to 500+ cells and PGS testing revealed only one normal embryo. We have since started estradiol valerate, dexamethasone, and baby aspirin. Anyone else being put on steroids? We had a failed round of IVF last year, so we haven't made it to this point yet and curious what others are going through. FX for everyone!
Stage IV endometriosis - 2 laparoscopic procedures 2016
    Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism
Failed IVF round in 2016 - 6 mature eggs, 0 normal embryos on PGS testing
2nd round IVF started Jan 2017 ER - 11 mature eggs, 11 fertilized, ONE normal embryo
  • @hoping10 Glad to hear you were feeling well after the retrieval,I'm hoping for around 10 eggs as well, I think that's a good number :) Hoping you get a good fertilization report!
@Marley629 glad you're feeling more hopeful, it definitely sounds like you're making nice progress. And sometimes those smaller ones catch up quickly, at least some did for me.
@kenneyjn sorry you weren't feeling well, but all you need is one good embryo! I'm set to go on steroids after the ER, I believe it's supposed to reduce inflammation and help with implantation.

After 3 days of being told "just one more day of stims" I am finally ready to trigger tonight! I'm excited to take the next step, but my nurse kind of scared me about the HCG shot. I was planning on doing it myself but she said, "It's a big needle..." and suggested my husband should do it. Just curious, for those who've already done ER, would you suggest administering yourself or having DH do it?

3 mature follies at scan today..and some lagging so I hope they catch up. My estrogen is 718 so they are pushing me one more day with meds and I go in tomorrow for another scan and bloodwork and most likely will trigger tomorrow night with retrieval on Wed!

  • I had no problem with the trigger Ladies! I did all shots myself (no PIO) and the trigger was more exciting because it was like "yay we are finally here!" Good luck!!
  • I didn't have any issues with trigger either..I had a dual trigger (Lupron and HCG). I didn't give them to myself, but I did ice the spots first which helped!

@kennyjn I am going to be taking steroids before they transfer next cycle (medrol).

I received my fertilization report- out of 10 retrieved, 9 were inseminated and there are 8 ongoing embryos. I'll take it :) I should hear back from them again on or before March 5 to see which made it to freeze. Then genetic testing time. Ahh the waiting!!!

Guys, I get to start stims tonight! 187.5 iu of gonal-f, and will go back on 3/1 for bloodwork. woo-hoo!
  • For the triggers they were fine! My husband is a disaster with needles so I think I was so focused on staring at a clock that it didn't seem bad. Mine seemed more intense just to mix the one so I did that a few min before, and was so excited to be done it wasn't bad :) yay I'm loving these updates, keep them coming! I'm totally stalking for more updates :)

@brela11 when is your ultrasound?? Hope it goes/went well!

I had Ovidrel as my trigger & it was completely fine! I did all of my shots by myself with my husband watching and talking me through to have him feel involved! I agree with being super excited that the trigger meant no more shots!!!

((Does anyone's posts ALWAYS cut off?)) POAS this am and it was negative. I'm 7dp5dt. I have my beta on 3/2 so I'm praying there is a chance. I had to talk myself through this reminding if it was always detectable this soon they wouldn't make my wait 11-14 days for the beta!!
  • Good luck to those of you triggering and transferring this week! Strength to those starting stims! I finally am at peace with the Endometrin tablets - I'm starting to learn the way my body reacts!
  • @PolythenePam ultrasound is tomorrow. Super nervous but excited too!

@krenee124 hoping it's too early girl! Sending you positive vibes!!
