Had retrieval this morning. They got 9 eggs! Not as many as we thought we would get (had over 20 follicles) but they said they look pretty good! So praying for good fertilization, won't have an update until tomorrow. Now resting time!
@HopeSIN 11 is still a really good number so try and focus on that. I don't have any good advice because today is day 5 after my ER and I can't stand the wait any more. I am stress eating anything I can get my hands on and can barely concentrate at work. Hopefully we will hear something today but it may not be until tomorrow.

@laurad75 Come on good news! Thinking about you today.
@Gatorgirl2009 Hoping that all nine fertilize and grow well. Did you stay home today also? Take it easy on yourself.
@HopeSIN That is a lot of eggs! 11 is still a very good number, grow little embryos!
@Lizyc I'm praying for similar numbers early next week.
JuliaGoolia719 Happy Valentine's Day indeed. Praying for a great FET for you later.
krenee124 Any news on fertilization? The waiting leaves me a complete basket case.
I'm on day 6, adding the ganirelix today. Does that one hurt? Ahhhh ladies, have your dreams been outrageous? It's like what I would imagine an LSD trip would be except I'm sleeping. Also the (TMI!!!) CM is a bit of an issue, holy moly! Bring on the panty liners. I had bloodwork done on Day 3 and, the doctor lowered my Gonal-f dosage
to 225. I hope this means that I'm responding well. My first ultrasound is Friday, I'm admitting to being very
nervous.
Yesterday I had some rage issues, just seemed irrationally angry over things that I wouldn't care a bit about under normal circumstances. Trying to keep a lid on that as poor husband shouldn't be the target. He's been super sweet, we went to the plant nursery this past weekend and he let me buy two flats worth of flowers for the front flower bed knowing that most likely he would be the one planting them.
@LauraD - wow, you're getting really close. Are they fixing you updates every day? Haha, I feel you with the stress eating! Same here! You're almost through do - keep us updated as soon as you have news!!! Fingers crossed!!
@stella - I was on Cetrotide from day 6 onwards but it didn't really hurt more than the Gonal F. I also didn't develop any rashes, blue marks etc. As for the anger issues, they seem to be fairly normal. I was pissed of super fast during stimulation. How's it going at work so far? Any chance you can work from home for a couple of days during your last few days of hormone injections?
Me 31 / DH 37 TTC ~ 2 years IUI #1: Jan 16 BFP! May 16: Stillbirth IUI #2 - IUI#5: Sept - Dec 16 -> all BFN Dec16: laparoscopy & hysteroscopy IUI #6: Jan 2017, BFN Feb'17: first round of IVF March 17: 1st FET
@HopeSIN I am sitting impatiently by my phone waiting for the call. I'm new to this, but from what I gather, 11 fertilized is a great number. I read somewhere that the average number retrieved is 8-12. That's only number retrieved! I am sore and crampy, but could not take more time off work, so here I am. Sitting back helps a bit (maybe takes pressure off the region?), but walking is uncomfortable.
I also agree that it was a bit difficult to accept that we would have to wait yet another cycle. On the other hand, I think it's probably good to give our bodies the time it needs to reset and heal. Certainly, I would want all the stars to be aligned before attempting the next step. At least I can have wine for another month... :P
@HopeSIN Ha, super pissed off super fast is an excellent way to put it. shaking anger, not a good sign. : ) I've got some very light bruising spread out over the injections sites on my right side. Menopur gives me the itchies right after the shot and minor burning. It's very tolerable.
Work is going okay, I'm in academia so strictly low key physically for work. I'll just avoid any work with the book carts. Right now I've got an appt Friday and one on Sunday, if all looks good on Sunday then we would trigger that night for a Tuesday ER. I'm planning on resting and doing some light cleaning this weekend, being at home should help. I'm wondering how I'll feel on that Monday. I've already arranged to miss Tuesday and Wednesday, if OHSS stays away I'll go to work on Thursday. I wish I could work from home, that would be amazing.
@HopeSIN 11 is great!! I know the feeling, all along they kept counting 20+ follicles and then only got 10 actual eggs. Somehow we got 5 strong embryos to make it to Day 5 so a lot can happen for you!!
@laurad75 oh the stress eating is bad.. 2WW here and I should step away from the cookies. Keep us posted when you get an update ❤
@stella_700 the rage is real!! My husband was literally going to make himself sick if he gave me the shots, he was so nervous. Fine, he was so helpful in other ways (truly). But one night I came down and he's drinking a beer watching tv while I'd done my shots. Again not a big deal but things were thrown at his head I was so annoyed, ha. Like 0 to 10 on the I hate you scale in 30 seconds flat. Learned how to control it after that haha
So exciting that so many of you have had your ERs and are waiting on fertilization/growth updates! Must be so anxious and nerve-wracking though! Looking forward to hearing more about everyone's progress!
AFM, still waiting for CVS Caremark to review the meds order. I'm anxious for them to call to confirm the delivery date, so my RE can tell me when to stop the BCPs! I've waited over a year just to get to this point...another day or two (or even just a few hours!) shouldn't be that hard!
Alright so 18 were retrieved, 15 were mature! They did ICSI on all 15, 9 fertilized. We are hopefully doing a fresh transfer and freezing extras! I am praying SO hard several make it to day 5 (Sunday transfer at 8 am)! What are your ladies' experiences?
As for for how I am feeling after yesterday's ER - I am a dental hygienist. Went to work today - up down, up down all day long. Feeling crampy and few aches and twinges here and there! Started the vaginal insert progesterone tabs today (Endometrin). Anyone else have to do this? I have to do 3x/day until beta on 3/2.
@stella_700 only complaint I had with ganirilex was the needle width! I iced my stomach, alcohol wipe, wait for like 30 seconds and squeezed hard and inserted needle! My menopur and follistim were mixed and burned - nothing with ganirilex! Good luck!! Hugs!
did any of you guys have sore boobs after ER? I'm 3 days post ER and they started hurting big time today like sometimes after ovulation. I'm not taking progesterone because we are doing FET. Is it just some degree of natural progesterone from all the eggs?
@Marley629@Enchilada@brela11@stella_700@Polythene Pam @krenee124 Thank you all so much! We'll probably transfer in April or May, depending on the clinics availability. The embryologist said that transferring both was not out of the question, but DH and I will need to sit down and seriously talk about that! He mentioned a while ago that it would make him nervous to use all our embryos at once so I feel like he may not be in favor of doing both....but we'll see! @PolythenePam I know what you mean, I feel like every time we get over one hurdle and I'm excited someone asks me about the next step and I start to freak out again! @stbollinger hugs, I'm so sorry
I don't want to get too Dear Diary but I need to vent out my anxiety a little. The waiting to find out if any of my 3 embryos have made it to blastyocyst is killing me. Today is day 6 so I was hoping I would have received a call yesterday and when my RE's office did call my heart stopped but it was just an admin calling to confirm an appt. I barely slept last night and I can't focus on anything.
We have an appt with the doctor at 1pm today to discuss next steps and I have to assume if we don't get a call before that he will know something. I was feeling so positive when they all fertilized but now with only three I can't help but think that the odds are against us.
Also, we watched this week's This Is Us last night and that show is just so hard on my heart. While I lied awake last night I was worried about Randall... so there's that too.
Ok. Thanks. I think just typing the words made me feel a little better. Love you guys.

@laurad75 - I love that show! and yes, every episode is a tear jerker! (and I've finally got my husband hooked on it! ) I think I will be just like you with anxiety waiting for the phone to ring! I'm half that right now and I'm just waiting on a call about when my meds will be shipping! oy! Good luck at your appointment today! FX
laurad75, I felt the same way I was a total wreck waiting to get our day 5 report (and more than slightly disappointed that we went from 10 fertilized to 2 at day 5) and then again waiting for PGS results. Every time the phone rang I lunged for it and was disappointed until the calls came. I'm not going to pretend I was able to take the advice of everyone who told me to just try to relax and that there was nothing I could do to change the outcome either way etc, I did drink some wine and tried meditative breathing and thankfully got deployed on a work trip which means I'm working 12 hours a day and it was easier to distract myself. It's crazy to think that we should be able to focus on anything else during this time though!
Hey gang. Thanks for the support. I just got an email from my clinic's embryology lab that they were able to freeze just one. Now we wait again while that 1 goes through testing. OMG - the waiting.

Sorry, I need to have a little mini vent - quasi not fertility related...
So DH had jury duty this morning...We live in Boston, and there's a high profile case starting for a double murder - for a defendant who is already sentenced to life for a third murder. (it wasn't a secret that if you were called to a certain courthouse that it was going to be this case...we already had an idea.) And now my husband is in the pool of jurors for this trial, which they say will start March 1 and will be more than 6 weeks. And of course we are about to start the stim cycle! I'm just getting frustrated that we've waited over a year for the PGD probe to be built, and other delays, and we are FINALLY ready to start, and now we might be delayed cause freaking Aaron Hernandez is too gun happy and couldn't stop (allegedly) killing people! Ugh.
I know he most likely won't get chosen (the pool of potential jurors is about 500-600 people) but to keep calm I feel like I need to figure out what to do to plan ahead...just in case. I know he can freeze a sample or two, but we have to do ICSI...does frozen sperm work just as well as fresh with that? (DH has no issues with his count/motility/etc...the reason for IVF is solely on my part...)
@caseyw8784 Ugh - more stress for you. Ideally he won't be chosen but can he use your treatment as an excuse to get out of it. His wife has started IVF treatments and he will be too distracted to be a good juror.
Aaron Hernandez is such a gross thug.

@laurad75 - the sad thing is, i used to love Hernandez! Especially after Welker was traded...
We're going to wait until we know if he will be called back to the next round which would be next week, but we don't know if it'll be every day or just one or two days, so the uncertainty is also making me stress. If he does get called, I will call my RE and see if they can have him in on Saturday or Monday or sometime...
Morning ladies. Just left ER and they were able to get 23 eggs. I'm a little nervous that the mature rate will be low because a lot of my follicles weren't quite as large as Dr was hoping for but at least we have a decent starting number! I'll update again tomorrow with my fertilization report. Feeling pretty uncomfortable so it's Vicodin and a nap for me right now. Looking forward to hearing about everyone else's updates!
Me: 29 DH: 44 DX: PCOS IUI #1, Nov 2016 - BFN IUI #2, Jan 2017 - BFN IVF #1, Feb 2017 - 22 eggs retrieved, 18 fertilized, 14 Day-5 blasts to freeze FET #1, Feb 2018 -
@caseyw8784 ugh annoying! I think freezing sperm has great results, don't quote me but it was an option for us if my husband got sick or something.
i was on jury and people got out by pretending to be hard of hearing so I'd think IVF would be legit! I think you can postpone one serving but next time he gets called he's definitely up. I had friends with new babies or school get a "freebie" so worth asking
For happier/less stressful news, i just got word that my meds will be delivered tomorrow, I stop BCPs next Thursday, and go in Sunday 2/26 for baseline ultrasound and blood work...yay!
Officially a March cycle now, i guess...but I'll still hang around and lurk/stalk the rest of you!
@caseyw8784 Looks like I am joining you on the March thread.
At our appt today we decided to do at least one more ER before doing a transfer. Hopefully the one frosty we have from this ER will pass PGS testing but we are going to try and get a couple more to bank for better odds at a take home baby. I'm disappointed because (like everyone here) I am so eager to be pregnant but we think this makes sense.
I did find out some good news. Since we maxed out on our medication coverage and will be self-pay for any further cycles my nurse is going to use a different pharmacy called Apothecary by Design. My clinic gets a discount there and the meds are a fraction of the cost compared to my insurance companies pharmacy. We thought we were going to have to pay upwards of $12,000 but it will actually be around $5600. So that took some of the sting out of the day.

How are the 2WW people doing?? Hope we get some good results soon! Are you relaxing, trying to stay busy, on here way too much because you're going crazy?? (Like me
I'm 4dp5dt and only feeling... bubbles? Flutters? Weirdness in my stomach. Occasional cramping and gas (sorry ha) but no sore boobs or anything. *TW* with my daughter I had crazy early signs, like within 2 days of conception (which isn't even possible but ask my husband, it was so weird). So I'm still optimistic or trying to be, but man this is a tough week and a half

And now my husband is in the pool of jurors for this trial, which they say will start March 1 and will be more than 6 weeks.
Aaron Hernandez is such a gross thug.

We're going to wait until we know if he will be called back to the next round which would be next week, but we don't know if it'll be every day or just one or two days, so the uncertainty is also making me stress. If he does get called, I will call my RE and see if they can have him in on Saturday or Monday or sometime...

i was on jury and people got out by pretending to be hard of hearing so I'd think IVF would be legit! I think you can postpone one serving but next time he gets called he's definitely up. I had friends with new babies or school get a "freebie" so worth asking
Officially a March cycle now, i guess...but I'll still hang around and lurk/stalk the rest of you!
