@daniellelynette@amandarene112 Thank you, I appreciate your opinions!! I'm starting to like it more and more and so is SO. He actually suggested last night that we wait until they're born to decide on a name. He wants to make sure that, when we see them, it fits. He also said it'd be easier once we know the gender which won't be for a while because we're not doing any of the earlier testing (only what's necessary for us since we're low risk). At least we're on the same page about that. Any ideas of middle names that go with Naomi?
@manalus1220 DH and I think we might wait until birth if we have a girl to name her too. We can't come up with a solid girl name to save our life. I love Naomi Grace, we can't use Grace, a name we've loved for five years, because my cousin just used it. Sigh.
@daniellelynette I like how that flows Naomi Grace.. I also have the same issue with family naming their kids names that I love. I have cousins named Emily, Nicole, Camila, Tatiana, Emilia, and Sofia all gorgeous names that are pretty much off limits now.. and even for boys I have cousins named Nicholas, Nico, Lucas, Gaston.. ugh this is not going to be easy for us.. Lol..
Heads up people I made a breakthrough with DH last night. I think he finally understands why I am not down with naming a son the third AAAAND we agreed on a potential girls name! Katherine Ann! I was going through our family trees and was just listing off names. I have a Katharina and he has a Catherine, he didn't announce he liked it at first bc then we were having the discussion about naming a son the third and I laughed and said "we could be wasting our breath, watch we're gonna have a daughter, and we cant even agree on a girls name we kind of like, what on earth are we gonna do then!?" He replied with "Name her Katherine, with a K not a C. I think i really like that". FINALLY
My family has a Catherine every generation but my mom wanted to call me Katie so she spelled it with a K. DD's middle name is Katherine to continue the tradition since we call her Emma Kate at times. DH's family also has lots of Kathryn's so they tend to spell mine wrong but it's fine with me since I don't really go by it.
@daniellelynette since you can't use Grace, what about Grey? That's my middle name and I have yet to find someone that doesn't love it. Or anyone with the same middle name as a matter of fact. I'm planning on passing it down if we have a girl. Naomi Grey doesn't have a bad flow or ring to it either. Just an idea!

Ohhhhh my gosh I LOVE IT. Lainey Grey. AH I LOVE IT. You're a genius and I could kiss you right now lol
@daniellelynette I'm so glad I could help! My mom got it off of the movie Curly Sue, it was the name of the lawyer. I still love the name personally, and hopefully your DH does too!
@LaceyC1020 I seriously give my mom SO many kudos for coming up with that as my middle name. After being born and raised in the surge of Splash "Madison" babies, it was always really fun to have something so unique and different.
@LaceyC1020 Oh I love that name! I love Greyson too! I might have to run that by my SO and see if he approves of either. We'd have to find a different middle name if we used Greylyn but that's fine by me!
So now that I know we're having a sweet girl, we've settled on Laurel Elizabeth G. Laurel is 100% as it's beautiful and has all of the letters of my daughter's name in it (Ella). Elizabeth is a family name that I really want to use (my middle name too.)
My only concern is that would make her initials L.E.G. Thoughts on that? I'm thinking it's not too big of a deal. Especially because monograms (hellooooo South!) would be LGE.

I think its a perfect name! I love Laurel and the honoring of Ella in it. Elizabeth is a perfect complement to Laurel. I don't think the initials are bad, could be a lot worse!
@sableeg I love that name! Everything about it! My initials are LAP and that didn't change after I got married lol no one has ever noticed or mentioned it before so I don't think it'll be an issue
@sableeg I think it's really fine... it doesn't spell anything bad. I went to school with a Alison Simone S____. And, like you said... it's the monogram that matters!
@sableeg My SIL had the initials CAR until she married. Now she uses the initials CAB. No one notices unless she tells them her middle name.
Also, when I was younger, I thought it would be sooo cool if my initials spelled a word. I did a scavenger hunt at a camp I went to where you had to find someone with initials that spelled a word. I was so jealous.
@sableeg I just googled it and her name is Valentina Angelina Jonas. V.A.J. Come on guys..... like initials aren't that important but they are when they spell that.
Any thoughts on 2 middle names? We have to use Eugene (first born son tradition on my husband's side). But if this little one is an only child, I'd really like a way to honor my family too, using my maiden name, Ferguson, as a second middle name. DH is adamantly against it. But I think it's fine.
First name is yet to be determined.

@hopetobeashraderfam My parents did that with my brother. His first name is from my dad's side, then he has two middle names (my mom's dad's name and my mom's maiden name). I think it's fine. It's never bothered him. He just uses the first middle name as his middle initial.
There's so much pressure when you pick a name lol I was pretty set then I started thinking and I'm trying to think of them as an adult! There's way too many good ones! my updated list..
girl- elodie grace or Haleigh grace boy- Colton, Camden, Greyson, cooper, or Weston
@mcdoug211I love that you said "Elodie" -- is that French?
My mom is French and her name is Isabelle (also my middle name), so if we have a girl she'll DEFINITELY be named Isabelle. Fortunately my husband is in love with the name. Not sure he'll buy this, but I'm hoping Isabelle Beatrix because we love rabbits/Beatrix Potter. However, I had a rabbit named Beatrix so would people think that's weird? :-P Other possibilities: Isabelle Emery, Isabelle Virginia...
A boy will be Samuel, in honor of an ancestor in my fam. I like how easy "Sam" is -- common name, but not as common as some other names. I was thinking Samuel Theodore, Samuel Pierre, or Samuel Emery...
I'm loving the color names -- Marine, Navy, Grey, etc! I've heard Greyson a lot lately for boys; it must be popular.
@margareth how abt middle name Beatrice instead of Beatrix...honors the French still but your rabbit per se lol. I went with Remi for my DD to honor my French side and my maiden was Richard (pronounced Rishard)...I'd love to use it as a middle but can't stand it being mispronounced! Now I'm stuck trying to figure out a good boy and girl name to go with Remi...I like the unisex with a feminine middle on girls (we used Elizabeth...fam name) and I like classics on boys too like Henri, James etc but want it unique. Sigh. Love Isabelle! Also loving the color names
@Texafornian Thanks for the suggestion! If he doesn't like Beatrix, then Beatrice is certainly a possibility. I agree that easily mispronounced names can be annoying -- to hear it mispronounced time and time again and to have to correct people... People tend to do that a lot with French names! Like Jacques or François lol.
@margareth is it! I fought for it with my daughter my husband hated it luckily he really likes it this time lol. I've heard Greyson a lot too, love the name I just don't like when it's a name you hear all the time..
i love Emery as a middle name for a boy or girl! I suggested it for my daughter the first time:))
Eta: I also really like Emerson! Thank you for reminding me haha it's going back on the girl list!
Re: Anyone thinking names yet?
For a girl, no clue. We've used all the girl names we agreed on already, lol.
