@jayandaplus I'm just now actually filling my A cups. I plan to wear nursing bra's with my awesome (cheap) Forever 21 tanks. I hate built in bras (I wear a bra anyway!).
I'm tired. We did get the book ledges for the nursery hung and everything in the house anchored this weekend, feels good!
We ordered from Amazon almost daily. I like to pretend the UPS guys loves us, haha
@Bailey8809 I don't have any experience with a sibling birth near my EDD, but my husband bday is 2 days after my EDD. A bit different, because he's hoping the baby will be born on his birthday ("best birthday gift ever!" he says.) But, my plan is to celebrate his birthday regardless. I already have his gift, so if I go into labor I'll shove that in his hands at the very least. I'm a FTM, so I may be incorrect, but I would think you're life will be a little hectic even a couple weeks after LO is born. So, maybe have DS's bday before and just hope you don't go into labor that day. My best friend just did this. She went into labor 2 days after her DS's bday, but she was glad to get to celebrate with him and it was a nice "just the three of us" last experience.
@Bailey8809 ds is two days after my brother and this babe is due a week after my dad's birthday and it's mother's day! Dh and I got into an argument this weekend about adoption of a dog. We went in to see some at a shelter and I thought we'd found one we liked. I confirmed with my husband to go ahead with scheduling a meet with our current dog. Then Sunday comes along and he says he never wanted to go back for this other dog. That I'm obsessed with finding a new dog and he doesn't understand why I keep making appointment to see dogs. I never make the decision to meet them I always ask him if he's interested he then says I've got to meet them then I make appointment then he cancels! I'm just done. I'm not doing it anymore.
I know the baby isn't that big yet (29 weeks) but goodness gracious I swear it feels like my baby like to curl up right under my right ribs. It is not comfortable...not even a little bit.
@Yiggle09: That stinks! What a roller coaster. So he says you're obsessed with finding a new dog but then still went with you to the shelter, but then said he's not interested? I'm confused and not even in the middle of it like you are. Playing devil's advocate... getting used to a new dog and training can be a time-suck... is now really the best time? A new pet, I don't know... I'd maybe put it off personally... Plus it'd be so much "new" for the dog to learn: new house, new people, new neighborhood/smells, new rules, and then 3 months later, new baby/totally new routine shake-up? Would that be the ideal situation for a dog, esp. a shelter dog that might have his own issues?
@Bailey8809: Yes! My son's bday is three days away from this one's due date! Still thinking about how to handle a party. At first I thought it'd be neat for them to have twin bdays, but I've come to realize it'd be even better to let them have their very own days to themselves. It's really not up to me though!!
@bacorrea - DS was 7lbs 15 oz and DD was 8lbs 2 oz, so very close in size. Dr is projecting this one will be at least as big.
I caught a cold from DD and have been pretty sick since last night. Luckily our house is pretty clean and somehow I lucked out and kids stayed in bed (DS in mine) until 10 am so we've had a lazy day and have already watched entirely too much tv.

I would definitely do the party early. Im going to have the opposite problem. Our scheduled csection is may 2nd and then we mive july 3rd and dd's birthday is july 9. So while the babies will definitely be here and i dont have to worry about going into labor, im worried with twins and nursing and moving im going to have a hard time planning anything.
@SKZW I agree completely. I met my husband he had two dogs. One passed a year into our relationship and he was distraught he found a new puppy in less than a week said it was because max the now passed away dog was lost without companionship. I always felt it was him who was lost. This is where I thought his head was at again but it seems like this time max cannot be replaced as easily. He passed away about three weeks ago and dh still cries when he's brought up. My heart was trying to do what he's shown he'd do if he had the time to find the dogs. He's so busy running his business now I thought I was helping. I never wanted to swing into the shelter I knew they only had older dogs which wed agreed we didn't want. I don't know I'm just hurt. Like seeing his opinion of me being so incorrect hurt
@Bailey81 - I agree to have the party a week or two early. So much easier than planning it for after the birth and luckily your edd is 5 days after and not before his birthday.

@Yiggle09: Lots of hugs!!! Your heart was in the right place! He's still grieving and needs time to process and probably is feeling some pressure (maybe from you and more likely from within himself) to make the situation "better" but the only thing that will help is time, honestly. Maybe it's part of why he's diving into work. Time will help---both of you. You each are managing in your own way, so table it for now, and the more time you allow yourselves over the coming months, the easier it'll be, to be able to start talking about another furry friend. I'm so sorry about Max. <more hugs>

Also 29 weeks and yup! I'm pretty sure they hook their little foot/ leg up in those right ribs and hang out. OUCH!
Y'all, I'm reading Dawn Dais' "The Sh!t No One Tells You" and I'm crying, laughing, and getting nauseated. I can't even tell if I'm loving it or hating it. I'm both excited and feeling aware regarding 90% of what she says, but that other 10% is freaking me out, like bad. Just had to share.
@jayandaplus - I second the Gillian O Malley tanks from Target. I breastfed until DS was about 9 months old, and I pretty much lived in those! They also were really nice for pumping at work, because I didn't have to essentially strip down to nothing. And not that anyone asked, but just from personal experience, if you're pumping at work and you were a non-nursing dress, make sure you have some extra shorts/pants at the office, otherwise you have to peel off a dress and sit around in your undies! LOL.

I'm laughing out loud because this was me all the time when pumping at work. Literally sitting at my desk in my underwear and pumping bra. I had a muslin blanket in my bag that I would sort of cover up with.
I lived in nursing camis and yoga shorts while at home after my last baby. I much prefered a cami over the bra and lifting up your tank top. No one likes sitting around with their stomach uncovered right after baby.
I've been waiting for these camis to come back in stock,so I can order
Zip up dresses ftw! I just unzipped and pulled the top down to my waist when it was time for dairy duty.
Im hardly a well endowed gal but I wouldn't wear the nursing tanks out in public, that was nursing bra time. The ladies, unless engorged and scary, like a little support and shaping help. Plus natures thermometers can put on quite a show through just a nursing tank. Thicker nursing bras are a nice insurance plan for leakage too.
jayandaplus - I loved that book. Found her tell-it-like-it-is attitude very refreshing. I may have to listen to it again.
So, I now have a belly rash. Thinking it's PUPPP (pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy). Had never heard of this before. It's fine during the day but by bedtime it itches so bad. None of the creams I have seem to help. This may be my least favorite pregnancy symptom yet.
@LilMissCrafty I feel like I've been hearing a lot about rashes, and I have one on my face. I think it's just pregnancy, but hopefully it doesn't last the next 2-3 months. Maybe try something like coconut oil or a belly balm because some lotions are more drying.
I am loving Dawn Dais' book, but it might be some emotional and mental masochism too.
@WombThereItIs So you used a mix of nursing tanks and bras?
@jayandaplus yep. I had tanks for home and some soft sports bra type nursing bras for home or going on walks and doing active things and then more traditional bra style nursing bras for out and about. I nursed until 15 months so it was a collection I built up over time as my needs changed and I discovered new things.
Member of the Itty Bitty committee over here. I always hated the built in bras in tank tops, but I LOVE my nursing tanks! It's so much easier and that was my go to lounge wear around the house.

jayandaplus I've been religious with the belly balm. But that doesn't seem to help. Gonna give aloe vera a shot.
SKZW Have an OB appointment coming up. I plan on asking about it. Hopefully they can recommend or prescribe a cream that actually provides some relief.
Ok, so this doesn't have anything to do with anything, really, but is anyone else super excited about Planet Earth II?
@jayandaplus I'm glad you asked about nursing bras/tanks, cause I was wondering about that, too. Most likely, I'll get nursing bras and just wear my normal clothes over.
@Yiggle09 I'm so sorry you're going through that stress. Not only losing your dog recently, but also just trying to help and feeling misunderstood by your H.
I had PUPPP with DD and the only thing that even came close to relief was oatmeal bath after oatmeal bath. DH probably ran 2 or 3 a day in the last trimester in cool (not warm/hot) water. Not to bring bad news but it is absolutely miserable and, you are right, nothing really works. Hang in there and try to not itch it. Good news is it immediately goes away at delivery!
Thanks for the book recommendation, just bought it off of Amazon and it will be here before my trip on Thursday! I tried to tag but my phones software is messed up so I can't type certain letters and symbols
jayandaplus - thanks for the heads up. I'll double check with my OB. I actually got the aloe gel suggestion from What To Expect.
0408Bear Ugh! That's what I was afraid of. I'll give the oatmeal bath a try. Sucks to have to deal with this for the next 11 weeks. But at least there's relief in the end. Thanks!
@Yiggle09 Right there with you still mourning a pet/family member. It does suck that your intention is being misunderstood by your H but it seems like he's definitely grieving a different way this time. Like pp have suggested, maybe let it go for now and readdress when the timing seems better.
@lilmisscrafty it sounds pretty awful to be experiencing PUPPP. Hang in there, May is around the corner and continue to distract yourself with baby related goodness!
I have nursing bras and tanks but my bras have been put to use before and after (the tanks not so much). Yes, I know it sounds odd to be wearing them now but I hate the idea of the underwire on my regular bras. Plus, I received some advice last time to wear a bra 24-7 for support as the breasts go through changes (even though I'm part of the Itty Bitty Committee as well).
AW: Soooo, I am feeling super accomplished today. From the time I woke up to now (which is 11 hours), I have been organizing/packing/cleaning everything! I cleared out the "boys'" room, went through DS' bins, organized clothes and baby supplies galore! Then organized our closet and made huge sell and donation piles. Lastly, I organized the pantry - more specifically organized the baby and DS' shelves then packed away the wine glasses and other kitchen iterms in anticipation for our move! Oh and when DS was napping, I managed to sneak in an episode of grey's anatomy and a chocolate chip cookie!
@Bailey8809 - DS will be two on May 27th, and DD is scheduled for c-section arrival on May 23rd (and DH's birthday is May 24th). Since DS has no clue when his birthday is, we will do a low-key celebration a few weeks early since I don't want to plan a darn thing for afterwards.
I know the baby isn't that big yet (29 weeks) but goodness gracious I swear it feels like my baby like to curl up right under my right ribs. It is not comfortable...not even a little bit.
Omgoodness I feel you! I swear my Lil girl is always kicking or under my ribs it makes it hard to move or walk or sit when she's there.
Ok, so this doesn't have anything to do with anything, really, but is anyone else super excited about Planet Earth II?
Yes! I love Planet Earth. I put the reruns on all the time if I can't sleep because they're so relaxing. There was also a Frozen Planet series that Alec Baldwin narrated that was great - he had the voice for it.
