I am sure some of those women may have had jobs that were more demanding than some teaching positions are, but to completely disrespect an entire profession that is so important to our society - a profession that they relied on to get their far superior jobs - is just messed up.
So much Bump love from a teacher (I will admit that I had dreams of being able to get pregnant over the summer so I wouldn't have to miss any of the school year, but then reality hammer helped me out on that one reeeeal fast.)

I always hear about the mass exodus and the ds, but what exactly happened? This is he first I've heard of the 24 hours of silence. And what was the timeline? And we used to have mods?
It's a very long story, one that will get deleted without cause if I go into it (surprise surprise) but yes, every forum would be moderated by an actual member mod. Some of them would mod a board for years and years. I forget how they were selected but they were often very revered by their peers.
There was management change over at the XO group that owns the site and they basically wanted the culture of the board to change and be friendlier like baby center. So the mods got the shaft. They didn't go with a fight though.

Second FFFC of the day: I have this morbid curiosity about family drama. I don't mean abusive situations or anything that severe. Just over-bearing parents, snippy siblings, ect. I don't wish these things on anyone but I'm drawn to these types of posts. I go looking for them even. A co-worker was telling another some family drama the other day that was just out of earshot and it was killing me not being able to hear. But I had a lot of work to do so I heard nothing.
I like me some good juicy gossip. I don't spread it but man do I love hearing it.
I hope this doesn't make me a bad person :X

So after my long cycle and horrible cd1 I take a few days off and apparently it hit the fan around here. Dang this is what I get for not stalking. Lady Voldermont is the best. Also. I lurk too much I will try to be more active
Late on this, but damn...just had a realization at the store today while looking at the hpt/lube section. I was trying to find preseed, but no luck. While browsing I saw all the the different methods to avoid pregnancy (i.e., condoms, plan b, some other random stuff I never heard of). A couple was browsing, talking about what was "best" to make sure they didn't get pregnant.
I secretly scowled at them (not that they did anything wrong), but it struck me, why was was it so easy for me to successfully avoid pregnancy for the last 15+ years...but it doesn't seem so easy to make it happen.
On a more positive note, I managed to get DH to successfully HIO two days in a row (pretty sure O will happen tomorrow or the following day). So I am laying on the couch grinning with satisfaction.
@jsnakehole I'm sorry there's drama in your family. BUT if you EVER need to vent I'm all ears
It's okay, it's just a byproduct of having a large, opinionated, loud Jewish family. It's more entertaining (in a 'Real Housewives'/table-flipping kind of way) than anything.

Speaking of family drama, we went to my parents' for my mom's bday and she got hammered and started crying about how my older brother is her baby. He's 39. His wife was a good sport.

@eggplantface If he's your older brother, why is he the baby???
I'm guessing because he was first born? He's definitely her favorite.

@JulesDP: So is Lady Voldermort the poster who had been trying for 2 months and just joined a few weeks ago? Then never apologized for her rude responses on this board?

heatherdubrow and JulesDP Ahhhh....got it. Thanks for the clarification. I was a little slow there for a moment. The comment about a phd earlier in the thread threw me off.
I will try to type this nicely and I wish a H&H 9 months...but is anyone side eyeing the recent TTGP post from a newbie who started posting on this board on January 25?!?!?
@heatherdubrow @dragonfly87. Meh, doesn't bother me. She was nice enough, I recognize her that she must have been an active-enough poster, cos I know I can be pretty sporadic w ttgp myself these days. It might have been her first cycle on the board, but she wasn't a 1/1 or 2/2 either, so imho it's nbd. We just don't know her that well cos how well can you get to know someone in 1 cycle?
Totes not her fault all our super-fertile pixie-dust rubbed off on her immediately!!! ;) but she's definitely not a driveby (or an a-hole! Lol) so I personally think it's acceptable. But just one bumpie's opinion. :)
@BusinessWife I agree, which is why I was aware it was my own issue not hers. She was super sweet and supportive while she was here, it just stung me a little bit because of the day I was having. I wouldn't have called her out or anything, just had a hard time with it.
@BusinessWife that's fair I didn't see her much since she was in TWW while I was in WTO. I am not mad at her by any means, just tough some days with the TTGP thread.
@heatherdubrow I don't think @BusinessWife was saying that anyone called her an a-hole just comparing her to people in the past that have posted there that were a-holes
