@jmn1985 I was not even a little bit prone to vomiting or gagging pre-pregnancy. In fact, my stomach is usually like steel- when sick, I would often wish I could throw up, but very rarely did. Two years ago I had a stomach flu and only threw up twice, which was miserable.
Also not a very picky eater. I don't like a few things (raw tomato and onion), but overall I like most things.
I know it's different for every woman (and every pregnancy), but I've read that it's common for Week 9 to be the worst/most intense in terms of pregnancy symptoms. I'm 9w2d and this week so far I've thrown up at least once every day, so I'm hoping it gets better Week 10! FX
Has anyone's round ligament pain lasted all day? I sneezed really hard this morning around 7 am, so hard that I screamed it was so painful, it felt like a bone popped on my lower right side, and it's been a strong burning pain all day now and hasn't stopped yet.
@heatherwilson321 Not all day, but I've had some that have come and gone in the same place over the course of the day. I hope it's just rlp, and not something else that you popped or pulled!
@amandarene112 Just got done at the doctor, I already had an ultrasound scheduled for today. Baby's doing good, but the pain is because I have 2 giant corpus luteal cysts on my right side, one is 5 cm and the other 2 cm. She said when I sneezed they probably got jostled really good. Baby's measuring right on track though! 7w4d, heartbeat 158!
@heatherwilson321 I was just going to comment that I had some sharp pains on my left side that lasted a whole night that I chalked up to RLP. Turns out I have a bunch of cysts on my left ovary. Dr said one could have burst causing the pain. Also yay for healthy baby!
@heatherwilson321 I've never had one burst (to my knowledge) but my mom did when she was pregnant with my brother... she even had to have surgery, but he was fine!
@heatherwilson321 I think a normal rupture can be smaller pains. Don't want to freak anyone out.... I had one rupture & hemorrhage last year and I lived. The ER doc equated the pain to childbirth (although it was relatively short lived). The internal bleeding is what got me. My abdomen was swollen for about 2 weeks.
The doctor did the ultrasound today, she would be able to see if it was ruptured right? It's been terrible burning persistent pain all day, I can't get any relief from it, and it kind of reminds me of labor pain.
@heatherwilson321 if it's painful enough that you are that worried, I would call your Drs after hours number. (That sounds kind of snarky when I read it back, and I don't mean it that way at all.)
From what my mom has told me (she is a nurse, but doesn't work in OB) ovarian cysts can rupture and not be a big deal at all, or sometimes they are very painful, cause bleeding, and in her case, even surgery.
Unfortunately, with pregnancy SO much is going on in there it's hard to tell what is what... ovary, uterus, etc. But, if you are genuinely getting worried/concerned, I would call. Especially since it has been bothering you all day.
@heatherwilson321 my Dr made it seem like it's not that big of a deal, or I guess it isn't always. She said if it does burst/rupture they'll see fluid in the ovary. Dr obviously wasnt able to confirm what the pains were that I had, she said it couldn't have been either RLP or a cyst rupturing. My sister said she had a larger cyst that she wasn't scheduled to have removed but it ended up rupturing on its own and she wasn't fine.
ETA just looked up my ultrasound and my largest 3.7 cm. Dr said they'll just monitor it by checking on them at the anatomy scan.
@heatherwilson321 she might be able to tell based on the size. Sorry, did not mean to scare you. My situation was very obvious. It felt like my uterus was falling out (if that makes sense- the pressure of fluids pushed things down). Generally Drs are concerned with them twisting if they get too large. If she said it was OK, I'm sure it's OK. The feeling you are having might be completely unrelated.
ETA my bleeding stopped on its own, also. There was no cause for major concern.
Not really, but man, if this what a regular cyst feels like, I can't imagine what a ruptured one would feel like. I'm going to call the after-hours number to check.
Not to be a downer (haha), but has anyone else gotten no nausea relief from ginger? Ginger is all I hear about and I feel like it hasn't helped!
I used ginger a lot with my last pregnancy and now the thought of ginger turns my stomach! I ordered "Preggie Pops" and have a stash of Saltines. That's been helpful!

@heatherwilson321 I also have 2 large cysts! My doctor said they could rupture or burst, which I've had happen before and it definitely doesn't feel good! I had no idea it could be as serious as needing surgery though! Calling your doctor tonight might at least help you feel peace of mind, which eases stress on you and the baby! Hugs to you!

@heatherwilson321 I haven't had one burst during pregnancy so I don't know for sure. I do know that ovarian cysts are normal and necessary during early pregnancy because they release progesterone to support the baby. Because mine are so big, my MFM said that it's possible they will just hang out the majority of the pregnancy, but I believe most cysts go away....and by go away, I don't know what that means. I don't know if it means burst or slow leak or just fizzle away. I would imagine since they are normal and necessary that unless they reach the emergent form like others have talked about that they are perfectly safe.

@jessieR358@Sugargirl1019 samesies! My only guess is that the relaxin hormone might already be releasing a bit. My tailbone and hips are definitely more sore the past couple of days. I was very sensitive to relaxin during my first pregnancy and found myself getting frequent massages and chiropractor appointments to help!

My tailbone is so sore by the end of the day and I can barely walk. What's up with this?!
MINE TOO AND I HAVE NO ANSWERS
I hurt my tailbone a few days before my first pregnancy and it never went away. For the last almost 2 years I can't sit for too long or sit on it wrong.. it's AWFUL. Seriously I've been to my chiropractor and can't figure it out. We were gonna do X-rays but then I got knocked up again lol
@daniellelynette Do you have Airrosti in your area? They are chiropractors but they don't do adjustments. They manipulate the soft tissues which keeps us in/out of alignment. I have chronic back problems and have never found relief. I threw out my back 5 times during my first pregnancy and about monthly not being pregnant. Since going to Airrosti I haven't had my back go out once! I'm basically in love with the doctor and his assistant now!

@sableeg No, I live in a tiny little town in Wyoming, less than 2,000 population. I don't even think Wyo knows what Airrosti means lol! We don't have a lot here at all. Like there isn't even a birth center in Wyoming... I think there's one midwifery place up north but things here are hard to come by! I'm already driving an hour and a half to a new doctor because the closest town won't even consider doing VBACs and I'm not driving two hours to rapid city while in labor lol! Sometimes living in this place is more of a curse.
@lap018 Ohhh yes. Me too. Today I wanted to punch this sweet couple in the grocery store. I was just trying to get my shopping done and they were CONSTANTLY in my way blocking the aisles... "oh sweetie do we need this?" "Oh I don't know sugar bear let me see.." "You're so cute honey muffin!" "Awwww quit sexy pants!" A bit of an exaggeration but I got so mad I very abruptly cut between them and I think I shocked them a bit lol...
@daniellelynette Sorry to introduce you to magic only to have it taken away!
WOW! My hubs would LOVE to live in a small town area like that. He's from Vermont originally. I hail from Chicagoland...can't imagine being so isolated! I need my Starbucks inside of Starbucks and inside of 15 grocery stores within 10 minutes of me

@sableeg lol lol the first part of that made me giggle! I wish I had the magic!!! Maybe one day we'll move down to Colorado and hopefully be closer to some of that stuff! DH grew up in an area close to Denver so he kind of misses it but he looooooves the hunting and fishing up here. Let me tell you about our town lol. No stoplights, there are 2 gas stations, 3 bars, 3 or 4 churches, a subway, an over priced steakhouse attached to a hotel, a napa, a hardware/feed store, a sheriffs office, a volunteer fire station (DH volunteers there, as do a lot of the coal miners here), a car wash, a "rec center", a library, an elementary school, a junior/senior high school, a couple little parks, and a "mall" which consists of the grocery store, a nasty cafe that makes people sick, a hair "salon", a bowling alley, a bar, and the post office. Oh and also the 4h archery range which is between the bowling alley and the bar. Lol. It's not bad, but I do miss so many things like steak and shake and noodles and company and of course Starbucks. Even just having a Taco Bell here would be a blessing lol. Oh and also there's the town Facebook page and eeevveeryyoone knows everyone else's business. So obnoxious. The small town drama is insane. I miss things like planetariums and museums and stuff. We have a coal mining museum but it's so lame lol!
@daniellelynette sounds like my home town. I live about 20 minutes away in a bigger "city" now, but to my knowledge there is no birthing center anywhere near here. If I told people I was going to use a midwife, they would look at me like I said "witch doctor".
I thought I was one of the lucky ones with very few symptoms, but once I hit 10 weeks, the last few days have been rough. TMI: had to abruptly leave a meeting at work the other day, after having gas pains, and luckily I made it to the toilet just in time... seriously almost crapped myself. When I went to bed last night and woke up today, I feel super nauseous and just wiped out. Just Putting towels in the washer wore me out. I basically feel hungover. Blah. So from my experience this far, feeling gross can hit at any time. Blah.
@lap018@daniellelynette Oooooh, me too, y'all. I'm sassy anyway, but when I get grumpy it turns up to eleven. I'm a little teapot of snark over here at the moment. But seriously, overly lovey-dovey couples drive me nuts, I would have barged through them too!
Besides the super unpleasant symptoms that come and go, does anyone really *feel* like you're pregnant? Especially curious about second time moms: when you actually felt pregnant if you know what I mean. I'm 9+5 and a FTM. I wish I could feel/hear a heartbeat or something! I feel anxious often and constantly forget I'm pregnant lol. Hoping in a few weeks that'll change so I can enjoy the pregnancy! Or at least feel more joyful about it and that it's actually happening...
Everything in my abdomen feels squished. It's even uncomfortable to bend my torso. I think it's a combo of bloat and constipation and everything that's expanding down there, but it's really uncomfortable.
